Non forzate manopole, interruttori e cursori: sono studiati per rispondere ad una leggera pressione e potrebbero essere danneggiati se usati con forza eccessiva. In caso di avaria non aprite l'effetto, ma rivolgetevi al più vicino Centro di Assistenza GENERALMUSIC. 2. Prevenzione di possibili disturbi. Verificate che il luogo di installazione non presenti disturbi industriali o a radio frequenza. Evitate comunque di installare la vostra apparecchiatura in stretta prossimità di apparecchi radio, TV, telefoni cellulari, etc., in quanto questi potrebbero causare interferenze rumorose. 3. Collegamento alla rete elettrica Per alimentare l'effetto usate esclusivamente l'alimentatore in dotazione. Accertatevi, inoltre, che la tensione di rete corrisponda a quella indicata sull'alimentatore (è accettata una tolleranza fino al ±10%) e che il cavo di alimentazione non sia danneggiato e non presenti fi li scoperti. Per evitare pericolosi picchi di segnale effettuate i collegamenti delle uscite dopo aver acceso l'effetto o con il volume del canale dell'effetto nel mixer o amplificatore al minimo. 4. Collegamenti di segnale Per il collegamento degli ingressi e delle uscite dell'effetto usate solo cavi di segnale opportunamente schermati, in dotazione all'effetto ne sono forniti tre di lunghezza 1,5mt ciascuno. Verifi cate periodicamente che i cavi impiegati siano in buono stato, con le connessioni realizzate nel modo corretto e con tutti i contatti in perfetta efficienza, in modo da evitare inconvenienti come falsi contatti, rumori di massa, scariche, ecc. 4. Pannello Frontale (fig. 1) 1. POWER Per accendere o spegnere l'effetto, quando acceso il tasto si illumina. Si consiglia di accendere l'effetto prima del mixer o comunque con il canale in mute. 2. PRESETS Selettore per la scelta dei PRESET del DSP. Consente di scegliere tra 16 diverse tipologie di effetti: riverberi di varia natura, delay mono o stereo, effetti modulati, combinazioni di due effetti, vedere anche la tabella preset. 3. VARIATIONS Selettore che consente di scegliere tra 16 diverse varianti (durata, profondità, contenuto armonico, etc.) della tipologia di effetto selezionata con PRESETS. La presenza di 16 varianti per ciascun PRESET consente di avere a disposizione 256 effetti diversi, vedere anche la tabella preset. 4. INPUT Controlla il livello di ingresso dell'effetto. Si consiglia di regolarlo affi nchè il led di peak resti spento o si accenda solo saltuariamente. 5.MIX Controlla la quantità del suono effettato (posizione WET) rispetto al suono naturale (posizione DRY). 5.OUTPUT Controlla il livello di uscita dell'effetto. 7. LED PEAK/MUTE Questo LED segnala due condizioni: luce fi ssa = indica la condizione di MUTE dell effetto. lampeggiante = indica che il segnale inviato all effetto è prossimo al massimo livello accettabile prima della distorsione. In questo caso, riducete il livello del segnale inviato all effetto agendo sul controllo INPUT. 5. Pannello Posteriore (fig. 2) 8. INPUT Ingresso di LINEA con JACK sbilanciato, utilizzabile con i segnali provenienti da tutte le apparecchiature con uscita ad alto livello. 9. OUTPUT (right) Uscita di LINEA con JACK sbilanciato del solo canale 3

4 destro, utilizzabile con tutte le apparecchiature con ingresso ad alto livello. 10. OUTPUT (left/mono) Uscita di LINEA con JACK sbilanciato del canale sinistro o uscita mono se non è utilizzata l'uscita del canale destro, utilizzabile con tutte le apparecchiature con ingresso ad alto livello. 11. FOOTSWITCH Permette di collegare un controllo a pedale col quale attivare/disattivare l'effetto; notare che solo la parte di suono effettato (WET) viene esclusa, la parte di suono naturale (DRY) passa tra ingresso e uscite inalterata V.d.c. È l'ingresso dell'alimentatore, usate esclusivamente quello in dotazione all'apparecchio. 6. Connessioni (fig. 3 e 4) È possibile collegare l'effetto ad un mixer o ad un amplifi catore per strumenti con ingressi/uscite a livello linea: 1. CONNESSIONE AD UN MIXER Questo tipo di connessione è il più comunemente adottato per usare l'effetto sia su voci che su strumenti. Ruotare il controllo MIX completamente a destra su WET e impostare a circa metà corsa i controlli INPUT e OUTPUT, in seguito si effettuerà una regolazione più fi ne. Regolare il volume della voce o strumento senza effetto direttamente dal canale del mixer. Regolare la quantità di effetto per quella voce o strumento tramite il controllo AUX nel medesimo canale. Regolare il suono effettato dall' ingresso AUX sul mixer. 2. CONNESSIONE AD UN AMPLIFICATORE PER STRUMENTI Questo tipo di connessione è il più comunemente adottato per usare l'effetto con amplificatori per strumenti, quali chitarre, tastiere, etc. Ruotare il controllo MIX a metà corsa fra DRY (suono naturale) e WET (suono effettato), regolate a circa metà corsa anche i controlli INPUT e OUTPUT, in seguito si effettuerà una regolazione più fi ne. Il pedalino attiverà o disattiverà l'effetto. 1. Warm Hall Simula il riverbero di una grande sala caratterizzata da un suono caldo. 2. Bright Hall Simula il riverbero di una grande sala caratterizzata da un suono brillante. 3. Warm Room Simula il riverbero di una stanza caratterizzata da un suono caldo. 4. Bright Room Simula il riverbero di una stanza caratterizzata da un suono brillante. 5. Warm Vocal Tipico riverbero per voce caratterizzato da un suono caldo. 6. Bright Vocal Tipico riverbero per voce caratterizzato da un suono brillante. 7. Plate Reverb Tipico suono di riverbero anni ' Stereo Delay Effetto eco con ping-pong dei canali destro e sinistro. 9. Mono Delay Effetto eco normale. 10. Chorus Tipico effetto di coro, usato su strumenti e voci. 11. Flanger Tipico effetto Flanger, usato su strumenti e voci. 12. Vibrato Tipico effetto di vibrato usato generalmente su strumenti Rev + delay / chorus / flanger / vibrato Varie combinazioni degli effetti precedenti. 7. 6 1. Introduction Congratulations for having chosen the fx 12 digital effect processor! To make the best use of the effect, please read this manual thoroughly before operating the equipment. 2. To avoid jeopardizing correct operation, it is best not to position the effect for long periods in exposed places (damp, high temperature, etc.), in dusty environments or those subject to strong vibrations. Do not force knobs, switches or faders: they have been designed to respond to a light touch and could be damaged if treated with excessive force. In the event of breakdown, do not open the effect, but contact the nearest GENERALMUSIC Service Centre. 2. Prevention of possible interference. First of all, check that the mixer is installed in a place free from industrial or RF (radio frequency) interference. Avoid installing your equipment very near radio or TV sets, mobile phones, etc., as these can cause noisy interference. 3. Connections. Before connecting the mixer to the mains socket, always make certain that the electric system and mains socket have an adequate grounding, compatible with the safety norms. Be sure also that the mains voltage corresponds to that shown on the rear of the unit (an allowance of up to ±10% is accepted) and that the power cord is not damaged and has no bare wires. It is best to connect the effect after switching it on and lower (or better still close) the output levels of the mixer channel: this avoids annoying and sometimes dangerous (particularly for the speaker cabinets) signal peaks. 4. Connector cables. When connecting loudspeaker systems to the mixer s power outputs, make certain to always use only power cables made up of just two wires with the same cross-section: the use of signal cables could cause an excessive loss of power. Check periodically that your cables are in good condition, correctly wired and with perfectly effi cient contacts: in fact many problems and drawbacks (false contacts, ground hum, crackles, etc.) are caused by the use of unsuitable or damaged cables. 4. Front Panel (fig. 1) 1. POWER To switch on off the effect, when it is switched on the button is lighted. We suggest to switch on the effect before the mixer or therefore with the channel in mute condition. 2. PRESETS It is the DSP s PRESET selector: allows to select the desired effect among 16 PRESETS: several kinds of reverbs, stereo delay, chorus and 2-effect combinations (reverb + delay, reverb + chorus). 3. VARIATIONS Allows to select the desired variation (decay, depth, harmonic content, etc.) among 16 VARIATIONS of the selected PRESET. The choice of 16 VARIATIONS for each PRESETS allows up to 256 different effects to be available. The main parameters of each effect are listed in the PRESET LIST table. 4. INPUT It sets up the amplifi cation of input signal. We suggest to adjust it since the peak led remains off or fl ashes irregular. 5. MIX It sets up the portion of effected sound (WET position) regards to natural sound (DRY position). 6. OUTPUT It sets up the amplifi cation of output signal. 7. LED PEAK/MUTE This LED shows 2 conditions: lighted = shows that the effect is MUTED. fl ashing = shows a too high signal level, near to the overload. In this case, try to reduce the effect's input signal acting on the INPUT control. 5. Rear Panel (fig. 2) 8. INPUT Unbalanced JACK connector that receives the LINE input signal. It can be used with all equipment capable of high level signal output. 9. OUTPUT (right) Unbalanced JACK connector that sends only the right channel signal. It can be used with all equipment capable of high level signal input. 10. OUTPUT (left/mono) 6

7 Unbalanced JACK connector that sends the left channel signal if used in conjuction with the right output or the sum of both channels if used alone. It can be used with all equipment capable of high level signal input. 11. FOOTSWITCH Allows to connect a footswitch to turn on/off the Digital Effect Processor; let know that only the effected sound (WET) is left out, the natural sound (DRY) pass through the device unaltered. 6. Connections (fig. 3 and 4) The fx 12 can be connected to a mixer or an instrument amplifi er with input and output capable of LINE level signals. 1. MIXER CONNECTION This kind of connection is the most commonly used to have the effect both for voices and instruments. Rotate the MIX control fully clockwise on WET position and set at center the INPUT and OUTPUT controls, afterwards you will make a fi ne regulation. Set up the voices or instruments without the WET sound directly from the channel fader. Set up the quantity of WET sound for each voice or instrument with the AUX control of the same channel. Set up the WET sound for the whole mix by the AUX input on the mixer. 2. INSTRUMENT AMPLIFIER CONNECTION This kind of connection is the most commonly used in conjuction with instrument amplifi es such as guitars or keyboards and so on. Rotate the MIX control at center between WET and DRY positions and set at center the INPUT and OUTPUT controls, afterwards you will make a fine regulation. The footswitch will enable or disable the effect. warm sound. 4. Bright Room Simulate a reverb of a small room characterized with a bright sound. 5. Warm Vocal Typical reverb for voices characterized with a warm sound. 6. Bright Vocal Typical reverb for voices characterized with a bright sound. 7. Plate Reverb Typical '70 reverb sound. 8. Stereo Delay Echo effect with ping-pong of left and right channels. 9. Mono Delay Normal echo effect. 10. Chorus Typical chorus effect, that can be used with voices and instruments. 11. Flanger Typical fl anger effect, that can be used with voices and instruments. 12.
