1 About E.T.L. E.T.L. is a Consortium of enterprises which has been established in E.T.L. members are Alitalia, Autorità Portuale di Trieste, Ferrovie dello Stato, Sea Aeroporti di Milano, Gruppo Coeclerici, Grimaldi Compagnia di Navigazione Aeroporti di Roma and Alenia Aeronautica: the most important Italian transport companies wishing to promote different initiatives in the field of European Transport Law. The Consortium aims in particular at promoting public attention towards transport in Italy and at creating expert professionals in this field. For this purpose, E.T.L. promotes post-lauream courses, as well as studies and researches in European Business and Transport Law. These courses are organized on the basis of conventions with one or more Universities and involve the participation of University professors, European Commission s and Italian Antitrust Authority officials, transport companies managers, judges and State officials. Didactical Activities. The post-lauream Master course on European Business and Transport Law aims at building up new leading figures capable of understanding in depth European Legislation and to contribute actively in the definition of common rules in the field of transport. The second level Master course, which is organized together with the University of Udine in collaboration with the Provincia di Udine and the Udine Commercial Chamber, will start its 7th edition in January The programme involves a cycle of six-month lessons from January to June 2007 which take place in Villa Moretti, a luxurious building granted by the municipality of Tarcento (UD). The courses foresee the participation of University professors, managers of Public administrations, European Institution s officials, professionals acting in the field of transport as well as company managers. A course of Juridical English will also take place, in order to provide students with a technical vocabulary. The course will be held by native English teachers and will involve a cycle of life exercitations and case studies. The combination between academic lessons together with enterprise experiences and case-studies will help students to create a wide-range preparation, which demonstrates to be extremely important in professional life. The course is divided into three general modules:

2 1st Module European Institutional Law 2nd Module European Economic Law 3rd Module European Transport Law In the first part the European Institutions as well as the Principles, the Law making processes, the competences and the procedures are analyzed; The second part focuses on Common market issues, Competition and free movement of workers, capitals goods and services; The third part of the course concentrates on transport regulation, analysing air, sea, railway and motorway transport, as well as portual and aeroportual systems. Moreover, the traditional didactic activity will be combined with research activity carried on by each student with the support and supervision of scientific tutors. At the end of the academic activity, in order to complete the didactic programme students are supposed to carry out a final internship in companies, institutions and entities acting in the field of transport. Scientific Activity E.T.L. Consortium intends to become a reference Center of Studies for private and public institutions and a starting point for new professional figures capable of interpreting and implementing European Transport Law. The book collects some reflections and thoughts of Wilhelm Brauneder, Rocco Buttiglione, Giovanni Maria Flick, Riccardo Luzzatto, Maurizio Maresca, Alfonso Mattera, Paolo Mengozzi, Fausto Pocar, Augusto Sinagra. The second book is entitled La governance dei sistemi portuali. Linee di una riforma di dimensione europea written by Prof. M. Maresca. The third book is Europa Mediterraneo. Un idea di strategia dei trasporti and it has been written by Giacomo Borruso, Sergio M. Carbone, Carlo Malinconico and Maurizio Maresca. 6 Research activity ETL works together with the Italian Minister for University and Research and with the Universities of Udine, Trieste Milano (statale), Milano (Cattolica del Sacro Cuore) for the development of a research project called PRIN The project focuses on "Services of General Interest (SGIs) and Services of Economic General Interest (SIEG) in European Law. In particular, essential facilities, statal measures for SGIs promotion and users rights topics are studied. Consortium President: Ing.
