7 The objectives of this role are to conduct externally based market research to establish a set of core balance sheet metrics and performance indicators for balance sheet analysis and reporting of Executive management information, and to enhance and produce monthly risk reporting to the Group Asset and Liability Committee. Responsibilities of the role will include keeping abreast of new product developments and funding initiatives and conducting external market research into balance sheet competitor comparatives to develop key performance indicators. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate effectively across the businesses are prerequisite as is the ability to work with considerable independence. A demonstrable competence working with large amounts of data and management information under time pressure is also required. Ideally candidates will have practical market or ALM risk management experience, or experience in a Planning or Finance function. This should have given them a sound understanding of the principles of accounting, finance and the risk characteristics of treasury products.
