1 TRAPANI dalla Sicilia un segnale positivo Trapani a positive sign from Sicily by Fabio Brianzoni z photos by Nicoletta Abelli Marzo non è solo la Festa della Donna ma è anche la data d inizio del primo show L otto importante Italiano! Infatti, nei giorni a seguire del 9 e 10 si è svolto a Campo Coni nella città di Trapani la 4 edizione dello show Internazionale di classe C affiliato Ecaho. Da questa manifestazione e da questa terra parte il primo segnale positivo per gli allevatori Italiani, qui abbiamo trovato ottimismo, dettato dal coraggio che spinge gli imprenditori e i proprietari a investire e a dare il massimo appena si presenta l opportunità di far vedere i propri prodotti. Infatti, oltre che ad un affluenza di pubblico difficilmente visibile in uno show abbiamo avuto in campo 90 cavalli e tutti di buona qualità. Uno show che in pochi anni è cresciuto grazie ad un bravo organizzatore: il Sig Antonio Culcasi e sua figlia Federica, ma parlo anche di chi lo supporta a livello regionale come: il Sindaco di Trapani, il dott. Vito Damiano, il Senatore Antonino D Ali che in prima persona, amanti dei cavalli e dell eccellenza hanno partecipato attivamente anche alle premiazioni. Abbiamo avuto il privilegio di ospitare in tribuna Vip il sindaco di Paceco il Sig. Biagio Martorana e quello The 8th March was not only Women s Day, but also the Opening Day of the first important show of the season in Italy! Then, on 9th and 10th March in the CONI sports centre of Trapani, the fourth edition of the ECAHO affiliated International C show took place. The first positive sign for Italian breeders came from this venue and from this lovely land. The courage of entrepreneurs and breeders who invest and present their products when the occasion arises, brought a sense of optimism. 90 horses of good quality took part in the venue and an unusually large number of spectators were present. In just a few years, this show has grown in importance thanks to its capable organizer Mr. Antonio Culcasi and his daughter Federica. Considerable local support has also played its part in the persons of Dr. Vito Damiano, the Mayor of Trapani and Senator Antonio D Ali who is a horse lover himself. Both were present at the venue and took part in the prize giving. It was also a great honour to host at our VIP tables Mr. Biagio Maratona Mayor of Paceco and Mr. Camillo Iovino Mayor of Valderice. Also present were the president Mr. Matteo Rizzo and the President of the Regional Assembly the Honourable Giovanni Ardizzone with the Honourable 144 TUTTO ARABI -

Uno staff,che sin dalla prima edizione conosce i dettagli della manifestazione e che non lascia nulla al caso: come la Dott.ssa Laura Mascagna, speeker e computer score, il Dott. Paolo Teobaldelli e il Sig. Marco Capelli e il Sig. Amalio Sparapan alla commissione disciplinare, il Sig. Frank Boetto organizzatore di Clinic Handler e vicino ai giovani che si avvicinano a questa disciplina, e infine una sicurezza in campo il Sig. Ivo Ludi rappresentante Anica in veste di Vice Presidente. Per quanto riguarda la giuria tecnica di questo evento sono stati scelti quattro giudici, faccio presente che il regolamento Ecaho ne prevede tre per un Internazionale C. Ma Culcasi per meglio garantire un equità nei punteggi non ha badato a spese, invitando dal Marocco il Dott. Vet. Mr. Mohamed Machmoum, dalla Spagna Mrs. Pilar Cavero Pino, dalla Polonia Mr. Tomasz Tarczynski e dall Italia Mrs. Paolo Ruggirello, Superintendent of the Sicilian Regional Assembly, and the Honourable Girolamo Fazio. Staff members, all well prepared for every single detail of the venue, included: Dr. Laura Mascagna, speaker and person in charge of computer scoring; Dr. Paolo Teobaldelli, Mr. Marco Capelli and Mr. Amadio Sparapan who formed the Disciplinary Committee; Mr Franck Boetto Organizer of Clinics for Handlers and very close to young people approaching this discipline - and last, but not least, Mr. Ivo Ludi, Vice President of ANICA and Ring Master. The team of Judges was formed by four judges. I would like point out that for International C shows, ECAHO regulations require three judges. Mr. Culcasi wanted to be sure of a balanced scoring and spared no expenses. Hence, he decided to invite Dr. Mohamed Machmoum from Morocco, Mrs. Pilar Cavero Pino from Spain, Mr. Tomasz Tarczynski from Poland and Mrs. Maria Annaratone Ferraroni from Italy. I feel this was a good team of Judges and the scores, even if half points were not used, were often unanimous. The fillies and colts categories took place on Saturday 9th March. The winner of the first category for yearling fillies - TUTTO ARABI 145

3 Maria Annaratone Ferraroni. Aggiungo che è stata una buona giuria e che i punteggi, malgrado la mancanza del mezzo punto sono stati spesso unanime. Durante la giornata di Sabato 9 si sono svolte le categorie puledre e puledri. La prima: puledre di un anno è vinta da MAGIC SELENE (Magic Magnifique X Amhisia by Ashiraf ) di Fontanella Magic Arabians. Seconda è LADY ELISIR (Aldashir RG X Majba Galaa) di proprietà di Mr. Salvatore Gallina. Per le due anni la categoria è vinta da ARETUSA POLLON (TS Apolo X Luminar Bachianna) allevata e di proprietà di Aretusa Arabians Team. Al secondo posto PRECIO- SO QATARA ( Abha Qatar X Ria El Than) di Mr. Enrico Piazza. Ultima categoria Puledre tre anni: Vince con un punteggio di 172 punti (4-10 in type) ALIAH IA (Eden C X Alia Psiche IA) di proprietà di Mr. Fabio Como. Sua seconda è ETIOPIA EL AZIZ (Fs Eternal Flame X Eritrea El Aziz) di proprietà di Mr. Domenico D Onza. Ripartiamo da 1 anno ma maschietti: vince la categoria AG NOBEL MASSIMO (Ajman Moniscione X Ag Expsyte) di proprietà di Qirat Stud. Al secondo posto AJ JUPITER OX (Ajman Moniscione X Sidi Judiva Ox) allevata e di proprietà di Sheik Ammar Bin Humaid Sheik Al Nuami. Seconda categoria due anni è per CYPERUS QUASIME (Rfi Farid X Fatimah Feidah) allevata e di proprietà di Mr. Lorenzo Gallito. Al secondo posto AMEL (Ajman Moniscione X Donna Nathy Hrt) allevata in Brasile e di proprietà di Mr. Salvatore Soviero. Primo posto per MAGIC FARAONE (True Color X Magic Lady Mirage) nei puledri di tre anni, allevato e di proprietà della Fontanella Magic Arabians. Al secondo posto ARETUSA LUMIAR (Ts Apolo X Luminar Bachianna) di Aretusa Arabians Team. A questo punto, cosa rara, ma anche in Sicilia piove, il terreno si fa pesante e si decide di rimandare all indomani le categorie delle fattrici. Scelta più che indovinata, in quanto al nostro risveglio della domenica il clima e il sole sono pronti per rendere omaggio al pubblico che si accalca sulle tribune per vedere i nostri stupendi PSA. Partiamo con le fattrici di 4/5/6 anni. Vince AG SA- RONA PSYCHE (Padrons Psiche X Sc Salina) di proprietà di Mr. Daniele Lobello. Si aggiudica l accesso al campionato MG MARYLU (Ts Apolo X Ma Nina El Bri) allevata e di proprietà di MG Arabians dei fratelli Moscarelli. Questa categoria fattrici è accorpata a partire dai 7 anni e oltre: vince ECLISSE DR (Magic Zair X Red Moon) di Aretusa Arabians Team. Al secondo posto ADONIA BPA (Meridien Atl X Lc Mon Amie) di Mr. Daniele Lo Bello. Come sempre le categorie stalloni sono quelle più attese, per la spettacolarità che i soggetti regalano al pubblico e per gli allevatori per decidere in futuro, quale Papà dare alla propria fattrice. La prima, quella dei 4/5/6 anni è vinta da JUMANCI OS (Ajman Moniscione was MAGIC SELENE (Magic Magnifique X Amhisia by Ashiraf ) owned by Fontanella Magic Arabians. LADY ELISIR (Aldashir RG X Majba Galaa) owned by Mr. Salvatore Gallina, took second place. The winner of the two year old fillies category was ARETUSA POLLON (TS Apolo X Luminar Bachianna) bred and owned by the Aretusa Arabians Team. Second place was taken by PRE- CIOSO QATARA ( Abha Qatar X Ria El Than) owned by Mr. Enrico Piazza. The last fillies category was for three year olds and was taken with 172 point (four 10s in type) by ALIAH IA (Eden C X Alia Psiche IA) owned by Mr. Fabio Como. Second place for ETIOPIA EL AZIZ (Fs Eternal Flame X Eritrea El Aziz) owned by Mr. Domenico D Onza. The yearling colts category followed. The winner was AG NOBEL MASSIMO (Ajman Moniscione X Ag Expsyte) owned by Qirat Stud, followed by AJ JUPITER OX (Ajman Moniscione X Sidi Judiva Ox) bred and owned by Sheik Ammar Bin Humaid Sheik Al Nuami. The two year old colts category was taken by CYPERUS QUA- SIME (Rfi Farid X Fatimah Feidah) bred and owned by Mr. Lorenzo Gallito. Second place was taken by AMEL (Ajman Moniscione X Donna Nathy Hrt) bred in Brazil and owned by Mr. Salvatore Soviero. MAGIC FARAONE (True Color X Magic Lady Mirage) bred and owned by Fontanella Magic Arabians, was the winner of the three year old colts category. Second place of this category was taken by ARETUSA LUMIAR (Ts Apolo X Luminar Bachianna) owned by Aretusa Arabians Team. It rarely happens in Sicily, but unfortunately it started to rain. The condition of the Show Ring was not good and the scheduled mares categories was moved to the following day. This was a great idea because when we woke up on Sunday the sun was shining, the weather was beautiful... a real welcome for the many spectators who took their seats to admire our beautiful Arabian Horses. The first category was for 4/5/6 year old mares. The winner was AG SARONA PSYCHE (Padrons Psiche X Sc Salina) owned by Mr. Daniele Lobello. MG MARYLU (Ts Apolo X Ma Nina El Bri) bred and owned by MG Arabians of the Moscarelli Bros. also made the final Championship with her second place. The 7 yrs and over mares category was taken by ECLISSE DR (Magic Zair X Red Moon) owned by Aretusa Arabians Team. Second place for ADONIA BPA (Meridien Atl X Lc Mon Amie) owned by Mr. Daniele Lo Bello. The stallions categories are as always the most exciting they are spectacular to watch for the public and helpful for breeders who have to choose a new father for their future foals. The first stallions category was for 4/5/6 year olds. The winner was JUMANCI OS (Ajman Moniscione x Praetoria) bred in Austria by Gestut Osterhof and owned by Mr. Giuseppe Fontanella - Fontanella Magic Arabians. Second place was taken by TF ANDREA PADRON (Psequel 146 TUTTO ARABI -

4 x Praetoria) allevato in Austria da Gestut Osterhof e di proprietà di Mr. Giuseppe Fontanella della Fontanella Magic arabians. Al secondo posto TF ANDREA PADRON (Psequel X Andrea Maddalena) allevato da Mr. Francesco Tripodi e di proprietà di Mrs. Marika D Amore. Entrano i 7/8/9 anni e vince la categoria MM FABRIZIO (Ch El Brillo X Mfa Forgetmenot), anche questo cavallo è stato allevato in Austria da Mr. Mario Matt ed è di proprietà da molti anni del Dr. Francesco Tripodi. Secondo posto, a 1 solo punto per LAZAAL (Gazal Al Shaqab X Senagors Lady) di proprietà della MG Arabians. Ultima categoria per questo Internazionale con gli stalloni oltre i 10 anni: ed è JANDEH AL NAIF (Ansata Shalim X Ansata Nile Gypsy) di proprietà di Sheik Abdulla Bin Nasser Al Ahmed Al Thani a vincere la categoria. Entra in campionato AV BURHIM (Halim Raquim X Bukhara) allevato dalla Arabian Valley stud e oggi di Mr. Girolamo Sangilles. Come intermezzo tra le categorie e il campionato, si è svolta una simpatica prova per neofiti, pricipianti handler all opera in vero ring con veri professionisti a giudicare il loro lavoro in campo con il cavallo. Il compito di giudicare questi giovani handler è stato affidato a Mrs Pilar Cavero e a Frank Boetto, quest ultimo, pur non essendo giudice, è sicuramente il più adatto in Europa a stilare questa classifica in quanto con i suoi Clinic itineranti è un ottimo insegnante per chi vuole cominciare la professione di Handler. Vince la gara con un punteggio unanime il giovanissimo (17 anni) Mariano De Innocentis. Si aggiudica anche un premio speciale il più giovane degli handler: per 5 anni e 90 cm di altezza Mr. Gabriele Graffato. Bella anche la prova dei futuriti femmine, future mamme per gli allevamenti. MAGIC SHERAZAD (Magic Magnifique X Aretusa Messina) è la prima di questa prova, che regala fin da piccola alla Fontanella Magic Arabians il suo primo trofeo. Al secondo posto FARAH (Ag Shalom X Brook) di proprietà di Mr. Vincenzo Santangelo. Campionato Puledre: Gold Medal per ALIA IA Silver Medal a ARETUSA POLLON e Bronze Medal per MAGIC SELENE Campionato Puledri: Gold Medal MAGIC FARA- ONE Silver Medal a AG NOBEL MASSIMO e Bronze a CYPERUS QUASIME Campionato Fattrici: Gold medal ECLISSE DR. The 7/8/9 year old stallions were the next to enter the show ring. The winner of this category was MM FABRIZIO (Ch El Brillo X Mfa Forgetmenot). This horse was also bred in Austria by Mr. Mario Matt and has been owned for many years by Dr. Francesco Tripodi. Second place, with only 1 point difference in the final score, was taken by LA- ZAAL (Gazal Al Shaqab X Senagors Lady) owned by MG Arabians. The last category of this International show was for 10 yrs and over stallions. The winner of this category was JAN- DEH AL NAIF (Ansata Shalim X Ansata Nile Gypsy) owned by Sheik Abdulla Bin Nasser Al Ahmed Al Thani. AV BURHIM (Halim Raquim X Bukhara) bred by the Arabian Valley Stud and now owned by Mr. Girolamo Sangilles was also accepted for the Final Championship. During the interval between the categories and the Final Championship, a fun category was organized for beginner handlers. A real challenge for them in a real show ring and the judges of their work with horses were professionals. The judges were Mrs. Pilar Cavero and Mr. Franck Boetto. Franck is not a judge, but he is definitely the most appropriate person in Europe for this particular role. With his Clinics he is a great teacher for all those who want to become Handlers. The very young winner (17 yrs old) was Mariano De Innocentis, unanimously chosen by the judges. A special prize was given to the youngest handler: 5 years old and 90cm tall - Mr. Gabriele Graffato. The fillies futurity category was also nice. The future mothers for breeders. The winner was MAGIC SHERAZAD (Magic Magnifique X Aretusa Messina). She is so young yet she has already made the day for her breeder and owner Fontanella Magic Arabians by winning her first Trophy. Second place was taken by FARAH (Ag Shalom X Brook) owned by Mr. Vincenzo Santangelo.
