2 GLASMALEREI PETERS STUDIOS Fondato nel 1912, l atelier di vetrate artistiche Peters Studios è uno dei più importanti atelier tedeschi dediti alla lavorazione del vetro, sia con tecniche tradizionali sia innovative. Situato a Paderbon in Germania, l atelier intesse collaborazioni sia in Europa, sia con il Nord America e l Asia. La gamma di interventi dell atelier comprende sia i nuovi progetti di architettura che richiedono soluzioni innovative, sia interventi in edifici di pregio storico-artistico, nonché il restauro d importanti vetrate antiche. Alcuni edifici in cui figurano interventi dell atelier sono le Cattedrali di Chartres e di Siviglia, la Cattedrale di Colonia, la metropolitana di New York, l aeroporto di Dallas e la Nunziatura Apostolica di Berlino. Ogni progetto è unico e viene sviluppato individualmente e con massima attenzione alla qualità. La collaborazione con numerosi artisti, designer, architetti, quasi duecento in oltre un secolo di storia dell atelier, ha permesso di coltivare con gli artisti un rapporto che si avvale ogni volta di spirito di collaborazione ed empatia, doti con cui il team dell atelier accoglie volentieri le molteplici istanze creative alla base di ogni lavoro. Fra gli artisti che hanno lavorato con l atelier sono Sarah Hall, Bodo Schramm, Hans Gottfried von Stockhausen. Situated in Paderborn, Germany, the atelier works in collaboration in Europe as well as in North America and Asia. The range of its interventions includes new architectural projects demanding innovative solutions, as well as interventions in buildings of historical-artistic value, and restoration of important historical stained glass windows as well. Included among the buildings where the atelier has intervened are the Cathedrals of Chartres and Seville, the Cathedral of Cologne, the New York subway, the Dallas airport and the Apostolic Nunciature in Berlin. Every project is unique and individually developed with full attention to quality. Collaboration with numerous artists, designers and architects (almost two hundred in the atelier s century-long history) has allowed us to cultivate with artists a relationship making the most in every case of a spirit of collaboration and empathy, traits with which the atelier s team gladly accepts the manifold creative requests at the heart of every project. Among the artists that have worked with the atelier are Sarah Hall, Bodo Schramm, and Hans Gottfried von Stockhausen. 10 PROGETTO ARTE POLI L atelier Progetto Arte Poli di Verona è stato fondato a metà del Novecento dall artista Albano Poli che a tutt oggi conduce l attività, coadiuvato dal figlio Paolo. Il Maestro Poli, nel fondare l Atelier, si ispirò alla filosofia della bottega rinascimentale circondandosi presto di professionisti e artigiani che assieme a lui hanno sperimentato, nel tempo, nuove modalità espressive in cui coniugare il valore di un alto artigianato con la creatività artistica. Il lavoro d insieme è diventato oggi l emblema di Progetto Arte Poli. Con il passare degli anni, alle tecniche di lavorazione del vetro si sono aggiunte anche l arte del mosaico, dell affresco, della modellazione dell argilla e della fusione in bronzo oltre alla lavorazione del legno, della pietra, del ferro battuto e altri metalli. Le realizzazioni dell Atelier si caratterizzano, così, nel far coesistere lavorazioni artigianali tra loro molto diverse e combinando le insostituibili tecniche artistiche tradizionali con le moderne tecnologie d avanguardia. Le opere create nei laboratori di Progetto Arte Poli mantengono, quindi, in tutti i particolari, la preziosità e la precisione della tecnica antica portando con sé il respiro di un invenzione che utilizza l astrazione tipica dell arte moderna contemporanea. L approfondimento e l utilizzo spesso congiunto delle varie tecniche messe al servizio dell espressione The atelier Progetto Arte Poli of Verona was founded in the mid Nineteenth century by the artist Albano Poli who still directs the business today, assisted by his son Paolo. Maestro Poli drew inspiration in founding the atelier from the philosophy of the Renaissance workshop surrounding himself with professionals and artisans who together with him experimented over time new expressive methods for conjugating the value of a high form of craftsmanship and artistic creativity. This combined work has become the emblem of Progetto Arte Poli today. With the passage of time, the art of the mosaic, of the fresco, of clay modelling and of bronze casting as well as productions in wood, stone, and wrought iron and other metals, was added to the techniques of glass working. The production of the atelier is characterized, therefore, by its ability to bring together diverse artisan productions and combining the irreplaceable traditional artistic techniques with modern cutting edge technology. The works created in the studios of Progetto Arte Poli maintain, therefore, in all of their particulars, the preciousness and precision of the ancient technique while taking with them the freshness of an invention that utilizes the abstraction typical of modern contemporary art. L atelier, però, non ha mai abbandonato l attività di restauro con cui Albano Poli aveva lavorato sin dall inizio, manifestando così il suo amore per l arte oltre al rispetto per la storia dell uomo e ciò che lo lega al passato. Con il passare degli anni sono state infatti approfondite tecniche e metodi con l acquisizione di esperienze avanzate che permettono oggi di intervenire anche su altre opere d arte, quali le tele e gli affreschi. Fra i numerosi riconoscimenti ottenuti, si possono citare il premio del Ministero per l Industria, il Commercio e l Artigianato per le opere prestate alla Sezione 80 Arti Decorative della 34 Biennale Internazionale d Arte di Venezia ed il doppio riconoscimento dei Faith&Form Awards : primo premio nella categoria Design per la Liturgia per le opere realizzate nella Chiesa Gesù Divino Maestro a Roma ed il secondo premio nella categoria Arte Liturgica per le vetrate realizzate nella Basilica papale di San Paolo fuori le Mura di Roma. have given rise to singular works found today in many churches throughout Italy and the world. Over the years, techniques and methods have been enhanced with the acquisition of advanced experiences, which today allow it to intervene even in other works of art, such as canvases and frescoes. Among the many recognitions obtained are the award of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Craft for the works on loan to the Section 80 Decorative Arts at the 34 th Venice International Art Biennale and the double recognition of the Faith & Form Awards : first prize in the category Design for the Liturgy for the works produced in the church Gesù Divino Maestro in Rome and second prize in the category Liturgical Art for the stained glass windows produced for the papal Basilica of St. Paul outside the Walls in Rome.
