Words ending with: 1. consonant: masculine -- il bar 2. -O: usually masculine -- il libro BUT la mano 3. -E: either masculine or feminine -- la legge; il giornale 4. -I: feminine -- la tesi 5. -IE/-TRICE/-ZIONE: feminine -- la lezione; l attrice 6. -A: usually feminine -- la casa BUT il problema Number These are the possible endings of plural nouns, based on their singular form. Words ending with: 1. singular: o, e -- il libro; il giornale plural: -i -- i libri; i giornali 2. singular: -a -- la casa plural: -e -- le case BUT masculine nouns ending with a don t follow that rule, and end in i -- il problema; i problemi 3. singular: vowel with an accent (-à ), -I OR consonant -- la città; la tesi; il bar plural: stay the same -- le città; le tesi; i bar Exercise 4. Gender, number and articles. You have 5 names. For each name find the correct number and gender. Write the correct definite and indefinite articles. Then, if the name is singular, turn it and the definite article into plural. If the name is plural, turn it and its article into singular. 5 Exercise 5 (homework) Now write 6 clauses. One for each word you had in the exercises 3 and 4. Try to write at least one question, one negative clause.
