4 DERMATOLOGY CLINIC UNIVERSITY OF CATANIA: ACTIVITY REPORT The Department of Dermatology of the University of Catania, directed by Professor Giuseppe Micali is a complex Unit (UOC) equipped with the proper care requirements and health facilities. These include outpatient clinics for: general dermatology, psoriasis, contact dermatitis and aesthetic medicine, as well as services such as dermatologic surgery, phototherapy and photodynamic therapy, accounting for more than annual accesses. There is also an outpatient clinic (only a few in Italy) specialized in contact immunotherapy for the treatment of severe forms of alopecia areata and relapsing multiple warts resistant to standard treatments. The unit is also able to admit daily up to 18 dermatology inpatients (Day Hospital).
