1 realizzazioni projects Salerno IL CENTRO SPORTIVO Le Malche di/by Emanuele Fidanza Il complesso del Centro Sportivo Le Malche nasce nel 1983 per volontà del proprietario Francesco Milione e del figlio Marcello, grandi appassionati di calcio e di tennis, diventando subito uno dei punti di ritrovo e di riferimento sportivo dell entourage salernitano. Nel corso della ventennale conduzione del centro sportivo, i proprietari sono stati sempre attenti ad offrire - oltre alle attrezzature - anche un area di ritrovo coperta con una struttura geodetica in teli, ma che limitava il suo utilizzo nella sola stagione estiva. Da qui è nata l esigenza della committenza di creare una nuova struttura ricettiva che potesse funzionare tutto l anno, sia come attività di ristorazione ma anche versatile per una fruizione multidisciplinare quale l organizzazione di meeting, conferenze ed altro sempre legata all attività sportiva e del buon convivio. Il Centro Sportivo Le Malche è situato a pochi chilometri da Salerno, nel caratteristico comune di Giffoni Sei Casali Paese Albergo, su un area di circa 7000 m 2 completamente immersa nel verde Salerno The Le Malche Sports Centre The Le Malche Sports Centre is located a few kilometres from Salerno, in the quaint town of Giffoni Sei Casali Paese Albergo, and has a surface area of about 7,000 m 2 completely immersed in nature The Le Malche Sports Centre complex was built in 1983 on the initiative of its owner Francesco Milione and his son Marcello, the two being football and tennis enthusiasts, and it immediately became a reference sports meeting point in Salerno. Over the twenty years since it was opened the owners have always been careful to offer - in addition to the facilities - also a retreat covered with a geodesic structure made of sheets, and which was used only in the summer. From this arose the need to create a new structure that could be used all year round, both as a restaurant but also for multi-disciplinary use like the organisation of meetings, conferences and other events connected to sports activities and socializing. THE PROJECT The site where the new structure is located is an area coming out of the arrangement of the various playing fields, and highly characterised by a curved solid brick element where the services for the various activities were and are housed, whose proven functionality convinced the client to propose its restoration and use. 82 LUCE e DESIGN Ottobre 2006

2 The layout of the project reflects this desire, where a single environment was proposed with a total surface area of about 240 m 2, with a loadbearing roof structure composed of steel reticular beams resting on one side on the brickwork structure and on the other side on steel columns with a span of 16 metres in such a ways as to provide a single open space that could easily seat up to 150 diners (see opening, and figure 1). Particular attention was paid to the structural module by virtue of the use of micro-drilled Wall-Sound panels, whose use proved to be effective in cutting down noise, to obtain a single

3 realizzazioni projects 1 2 IL PROGETTO Il sito in cui si doveva andare a realizzare la nuova struttura era un area di risulta, nato dalla sistemazione dei vari campi da gioco, fortemente caratterizzato da un elemento costruito in muratura di mattoni pieni di geometria curvilinea, dove erano e sono collocati i servizi dell attività, la cui collaudata funzionalità ha spinto la committenza alla ferma scelta di propendere al suo recupero ed al suo utilizzo. Da questi desiderata è nato il layout di progetto, in cui si è proposto un unico ambiente di superficie totale pari a circa 240 m 2, con struttura di copertura portante costituita da travi reticolari in acciaio poggiate da un lato sul corpo in muratura e dall altro su pilastri in acciaio con campate di 16 m in modo da conformarsi come un unico open space che potesse ospitare comodamente fino a 150 commensali (vedi apertura, e figura 1). Particolare attenzione è stata rivolta al modulo strutturale in virtù dell utilizzo di pannelli microforati tipo Wall - Sound, il cui impiego è risultato efficace per l abbattimento acustico, tale da ottenere una unica copertura senza tagli, precisa nelle sue forme geometriche. Al centro della copertura, è stato creato un grande lucernario trasparente, dove la luce naturale viene regolata mediante un brise-soleil costituito da lame in alluminio regolabili elettricamente (figura 2). Le chiusure laterali sono realizzate con infissi in alluminio complanari scorrevoli, e si è adottato - come pelle dell edificio - un sistema di ante rivestite con doghe di legno in modo da calibrare la luce naturale nonché il calore del sole nei mesi caldi. Il prospetto d ingresso è realizzato tutto in cristallo, con spartito geometrico che segue l impianto strutturale che viene ancor di più esaltato dal sistema di tiranti in facciata. Su questo prospetto svettano a sbalzo le putrelle facenti parte delle travi reticolari, ancor più messe in evidenza con un taglio inclinato che fa risaltare l anima dell elemento strutturale su cui sono state poggiate doghe in legno che creano con il sole giochi di ombre di grande fascino a seconda delle ore del giorno (vedi figura 1). covering without cutting and precise in its geometrical forms. 5 realizzazioni projects Gli apparecchi utilizzati NET-1 (design: Carlo Galizzi, per Civic) è un apparecchio a sospensione o parete per file continue con struttura in policarbonato trasparente e metallo verniciato. La semplicità e qualità del suo design lo rendono adattabile alle più diverse progettazioni. L elevato grado IP lo rende idoneo sia in interni come in esterni, ed è disponibile con 2 differenti diffusori, trasparente o sabbiato. Nel Centro Sportivo Le Malche è stata utilizzata la versione trasparente (figura a) a Spider è un sistema modulare a sospensione o incasso per interni e esterni, sempre di Civic, con design rigoroso ed essenziale, ideale per l illuminazione architettonica. Realizzato in estruso di alluminio con diffusore in vetro temperato, è disponibile in tre differenti emissioni luminose, monolampada asimmetrico e bilampada (figura b) A richiesta, le versioni RGB, xenon e con tecnologia a LED. La versione monolampada studiata per esterni IP67 Classe II ha configurazione 1x24W e flusso luminoso di 2000 lm. The mono-lamp version, designed for the outdoors and with a Class II IP 67 has a configuration of 1 x 24W and a luminous flux of 2,000 lm. L IMPIANTO DI ILLUMINAZIONE Grande attenzione è stata rivolta agli aspetti sia tecnologici sia illuminotecnici che di riscaldamento, qui assicurato dalla presenza di un impianto a pavimento con serpentine radianti. La luce, naturale e artificiale, è stato il tema trainante dell iter progettuale, concepito sull architettura-struttura della fabbrica sin dai primi schizzi. L intera struttura di acciaio lasciata a vista in colore bianco, a mo di contraltare al pavimento grigio, ha segnato il posizionamento ed ha influito sulla scelta degli apparecchi di illuminazione: elementi sospesi a varie altezze che potessero illuminare confortevolmente l intero ambiente, esaltandone c with an inclination that shows up the soul of the structural element on which the wood staves are placed that create with the sun striking shadows according to the time of the day (see figure 1). THE LIGHTING SYSTEM A lot of care went into both the technological and lighting engineering aspects and also the heating aspect, which was guaranteed here by a floor system with radiant heating serpentines. The lighting, natural and artificial, was the guiding theme of the design, conceived on the architecture-structure of the "plant" right from the outset. The entire steel structure, left visible with its white colour in contrast to the grey of the floor, marked the positioning and influenced the choice of 86

6 4 lo spazio e nel contempo garantendo livelli di illuminazione omogenei (figura 3, 4, figura c nel riquadro I). La scelta progettuale è stata quella di inserire elementi fluorescenti sospesi a tutta luce, di grande eleganza (Net 1, design: Carlo Galizzi, di Civic), montati con ordine geometrico rigoroso, che hanno scandito e segnato questo grande ambiente conferendogli un accento lucente di grande effetto (figura a, riquadro I). A questi elementi luminosi molto tecnologici, si sono affiancati altre lampade - sempre sospese ma ad una altezza inferiore - costituiti da elementi di forma geometrica ovale realizzati in rete di nylon e nastri di poliestere stampato. Inoltre,lungo il perimetro, sono stati incassati fari a pavimento che esaltano la percezione notturna dei prospetti esterni (Spider, design: Carlo Galizzi, di Civic) (figura b, riquadro I). L intero progetto è stato realizzato in tempi brevissimi,dato il controllo di tutte le strutture in officina; l intera struttura, comprensiva della copertura, è stata montata in quindici giorni, soddisfacendo ancor di più i desideri della committenza di voler offrire questo nuovo luogo di convivio in tempo per la stagione estiva, densa di avvenimenti sportivi. The design inserts very elegant suspended fluorescent elements (Net 1, design: Carlo Galizzi, from Civic) installed with a rigorous geometric order, that provided a striking shine to this large environment (figure a, box I) These very technological lighting elements were used together by other lamps - still hanging, but at a lower height - composed of oval-shaped elements made of nylon and moulded polyester strips. Also, around the perimeter spotlights were put into the floor that enhance look of the outside at night (Spider, design: Carlo Galizzi, from Civic) (figure b, box I). The entire project was carried out quickly, given the control of all the structures in the workshop; the entire structure, including the roof, was installed in fifteen, more than meeting the wishes of the client to be able to have the place ready for the summer season that has a full programme of sports events.
