3 2 Iron Model X601 Important Safeguards When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following. Read all instructions. Safety Instructions 1 Check that the voltage rating located on baseplate corresponds to the mains voltage in your home. 2 Never leave the iron unattended whilst it is still connected to power supply. 3 Before filling iron with water always unplug from power supply. 4 Always turn iron OFF before connecting or disconnecting to mains power supply. 5 Do not allow power supply cord to touch hot surfaces. 6 Do not use iron with damaged power supply cord. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cord or assembly available from the service agent. 7 Never turn iron upside down as it may still contain hot water. 8 Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. 9 Always allow iron to cool before storage. 10 To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse cord, in water or other liquid. 11 Do not use outdoors. 12 NEVER CUT THE CABLE 13 This product is intended for household use only and not for commercial or industrial use. Before First Use Clean the soleplate before first use. When finished clean and dry the soleplate and steam vents with a cloth Some parts of the iron have been lightly greased and as a result the iron may smoke slightly when switched on for the first time. This will cease after a short while. Normal tap water can be used but if you live in a hard water area we recommend the use of distilled water User manual How to fill with water Ensure iron is disconnected from electrical supply. Confirm that the steam button is depressed to the Dry position when filling with water. Slide water fill cover and fill the tank up to Max line. Do not overfill. How to use your steam iron Controlling the temperature Turn the temperature control dial to the position you desire according to the following fabric indications: Synthetics Silk, wool Linen, cotton Using as a Dry Iron The iron can be used as a dry iron, even if there is water in the reservoir but do not put water in the reservoir if the iron is to be used as a dry iron for an extended period. Stand the iron on its heel rest, plug in and switch on Adjust the dial to the setting required When the pilot light goes out, the iron will have reached the required temperature Using as a Steam Iron Press the selector button to the Dry position Stand the iron on its heel rest. Ensure iron is disconnected from power supply. Fill with water (see above) Reconnect to power supply. Set the dial to steam position and the pilot light will come on When the pilot light goes out the iron will be ready to use as a steam iron. The pilot light will go on and off regularly during ironing as an indication that the temperature control is working Press the steam button to start steam ironing. Stand the iron on its heel rest when not in use. How to take care of your steam iron To empty and store Ensure the iron is unplugged when not in use. Pour out any remaining water. Empty the iron 2

4 after each use and store the hot iron in an upright position so that any moisture remaining will evaporate. 5 Ferro da stiro Modello X601 Norme di sicurezza 1. Controllate che il voltaggio indicato sulla piastra corrisponda a quello della rete locale. 2. Non lasciate mai il ferro incustodito quando e attaccato alla presa della corrente. 3. Prima di riempire il serbatoio d acqua staccate sempre il cavo dalla presa. 4. Spegnere sempre il ferro prima di inserirlo o di disinserirlo dalla presa di corrente. 5. Non ponete il cavo di alimentazione su superfici bollenti. 6. Non utilizzate il ferro con un cavo di alimentazione danneggiato. Se il cavo di alimentazione fosse danneggiato, deve essere sostituito da un altro speciale cavo da un centro di assistenza autorizzato. 7. Non rigirate mai il ferro, potrebbe contenere acqua bollente. 8. Tenete sempre sotto controllo i bambini quando dovete stirare in loro presenza. 9. Fate sempre raffreddare il ferro prima di metterlo via. 10. Per proteggervi dal rischio di scossa elettrica non immergete il cavo in acqua o altro liquido. 11. Non usarlo all aperto. 12. NON TAGLIARE MAI IL CAVO. 13. Questo prodotto è concepito solamente per utilizzi domestici non commerciali né industriali. Prima del primo utilizzo Pulite la piastra prima del primo utilizzo. Quando avete terminato pulite e asciugate la piastra e i fori vapore con un panno. Alcune parti del ferro sono state leggermente lubrificate percio puo esserci emissione di fumo quando viene utilizzato la prima volta. Questa inconveniente cessera dopo un breve utillizzo. Puo essere utilizzata acqua del rubinetto. Se questa e particolarmente dura si consiglia l uso di acqua distillata. COME RIEMPIRE IL SERBATOIO Assicuratevi che il pulsante del vapore sia nella posizione Dry quando versate l acqua. Riempite il serbatoio fino alla linea Max. Non oltrepassarla. Verificate il giusto livello d acqua col ferro da stiro nella posizione mostrata. Istruzioni per l uso COME UTILIZZARE IL VOSTRO FERRO DA STIRO A VAPORE Controllo della temperatura Ruotate il selettore di controllo della temperatura fino alla posizione desiderata secondo le seguenti indicazioni di fabbricazione: Sintetico Seta, Lana Lino, Cotone Stiratura a secco Il ferro da stiro ha la possibilità di stiratura a secco, anche quando c è dell acqua nel serbatoio. Non aggiungere altra acqua nel caso il ferro da stiro venga utilizzato per un lungo periodo come stiratura a secco. Posizionate il ferro sul supporto e inserite la spina nella presa di corrente. Regolate il selettore nella posizione desiderata. Quando la spia luminosa si spegne, il ferro da stiro ha raggiunto la temperatura necessaria. Stiratura a vapore Srotolate il cavo di alimentazione. Premete il pulsante di selezione nella posizione Dry. Posizionate il ferro sul supporto. Verificate che il pulsante del vapore sia premuto nella posizione dry e riempite il serbatoio. Non oltrepassate la linea Max. Controllate il corretto livello dell acqua con il ferro nella posizione mostrata. Inserite la spina. Regolate il selettore nella posizione vapore e la spia si accenderà. Il ferro da stiro sarà pronto per l uso a vapore nel momento in cui la spia luminosa si spegnerà. La spia luminosa si accenderà e si spegnerà regolarmente durante l utilizzo indicando il corretto funzionamento del sistema di controllo della temperatura. Premete il pulsante del vapore per iniziare a stirare. Posizionate il ferro da stiro sul suo supporto quando non viene utilizzato. 4 4

6 MANUTENZIONE DEL FERRO DA STIRO Svuotare Assicuratevi che il ferro da stiro sia disinserito dalla presa di corrente. Versate l acqua rimanente. Svuotate il ferro dopo ogni utilizzo. In seguito allo svuotamento del serbatoio, posizionate il ferro caldo in posizione verticale, in tal modo il vapore rimanente evaporerà. Manutenzione e riparazioni Evitate la stiratura sopra le cerniere o altri accessori metallici; possono graffiare la piastra. Si consiglia l uso d acqua distillata nel caso l acqua del rubinetto sia particolarmente dura. Non cercate di smontare il ferro da soli, per riparazioni rivolgetevi ad un centro autorizzato.
