1 PRESS NOTICE Banks: ABI, new round of local meetings in Udine From January the city in Friuli will host a number of events: an opportunity to discuss everyday relations between banks, customers and businesses Udine (21-24 January 2015) is the next venue in the series of regional meetings organised by ABI since 2011, taking the total number of events to a round 10. As usual, a number of events have been planned. The idea is to provide information and engage banks, businesses and customers in discussions about local culture, with the aim of highlighting the experience, professionalism and efforts made by banks in a particular region. Three years on, the destination is the North East. After the first leg in Cuneo, it was Vicenza (January 2012) that hosted the second series of meetings, with an initiative aimed at illustrating the banks' role in the everyday lives of people in the region. The Vicenza meetings were followed by others in Ancona, Viterbo, Lecce, Messina, Modena, Sondrio and Cagliari. After a series of financial education initiatives, the keynote moment of the Udine series will be the event on Saturday 24th. During the morning, representatives of local institutions, businesses, local and national banks will gather to discuss the current economic situation and consider ways of achieving greater synergy and collaboration between banks and businesses. The ABI community engagement meetings are part of the Association's aim of consolidating and raising the profile of the banks' efforts to engage with the communities they work in. Each event will involve key local figures, from public institutions, businesses, civil and social partners, in a debate aimed at finding a way out of the financial crisis and at laying the foundations that will further reinforce relationships and lead to more beneficial collaborations geared to achieving common objectives.
