1 ITALIAN Contributo per l assistenza all infanzia Il governo australiano mette a disposizione una serie di indennità e servizi per contribuire ai costi che le famiglie sostengono per l assistenza dei figli come: Child Care Benefit per l assistenza dei figli riconosciuta e autorizzata Child Care Rebate, e Jobs, Education and Training (JET) Child Care Fee Assistance. Child Care Benefit L importo Child Care Benefit che riceverete può variare in base a: tipo di assistenza all infanzia utilizzata reddito della vostra famiglia numero di figli assistiti e soddisfacimento del test Child Care Benefit su studio, formazione e lavoro o eventuale esenzione. Potrete richiedere il Child Care Benefit per i servizi di assistenza all infanzia riconosciuti e approvati. Tuttavia, dovrete soddisfare i requisiti relativi a residenza e immunizzazione dei figli ed essere la persona responsabile che paga le spese per l assistenza dei figli. Dovrete richiedere il Child Care Benefit per un assistenza approvata per poter usufruire di altri servizi di assistenza come Child Care Rebate, JET Child Care Fee Assistance o Grandparent Child Care Benefit. Assistenza all infanzia approvata L assistenza all infanzia può consistere in: assistenza pre o post scuola, assistenza diurna su base familiare, assistenza durante le vacanze, assistenza per orari prolungati, assistenza domiciliare e servizi di assistenza occasionali. Chiedete al vostro servizio di assistenza all infanzia se questo è approvato da Child Care Benefit o consultate il sito mychild.gov.au. Opzioni di pagamento Esistono due sistemi per ricevere il Child Care Benefit per l assistenza all infanzia approvata: direttamente presso il servizio di assistenza all infanzia che ridurrà le rette e agevolerà la gestione del vostro budget familiare oppure come importo forfettario da riscuotere alla fine dell anno fiscale se siete lavoratori irregolari o non avete un reddito certo. 2 Assistenza all infanzia riconosciuta L assistenza all infanzia riconosciuta è quella fornita da nonni, parenti, amici o nanny riconosciuti come nostri fornitori. Opzioni di pagamento Il Child Care Benefit per l assistenza riconosciuta una volta processato viene versato direttamente alla vostra banca. Le richieste per l assistenza all infanzia riconosciuta devono essere presentate insieme a ricevute valide comprovanti l assistenza fornita nelle 52 settimane precedenti. Come richiedere il Child Care Benefit Per richiedere il Child Care Benefit per assistenza approvata dovrete riempire l apposito modulo online o scaricarne uno. Per l assistenza all infanzia riconosciuta potete scaricare l apposito modulo. Potreste avere diritto al Child Care Rebate se avete già diritto al Child Care Benefit per l assistenza all infanzia approvata (anche se siete valutati a tasso zero per via del reddito). Dovrete soddisfare i test di studio, formazione e lavoro di Child Care Rebate durante la settimana o possedere un esenzione. Inoltre dovrete utilizzare un servizio Child Care Benefit approvato. Il Child Care Rebate copre il 50 per cento delle vostre spese non rimborsabili per l assistenza all infanzia fino a un importo massimo annuo per figlio. Il Child Care Rebate non dipende dal reddito e non è possibile ottenere il Child Care Rebate per l assistenza riconosciuta. Come richiedere il Child Care Rebate Non esiste un modulo per la richiesta del Child Care Rebate. Non dovrete richiedere il Child Care Rebate separatamente in quanto, se ne avete diritto, vi sarà pagato automaticamente alla presentazione della domanda del Child Care Benefit per l assistenza all infanzia approvata. 5 ENGLISH Assistance for child care The Australian Government offers a range of payments and services to help families with the costs of child care including: Child Care Benefit for approved and registered child care Child Care Rebate, and Jobs, Education and Training (JET) Child Care Fee Assistance. Child Care Benefit The amount of Child Care Benefit you receive may vary depending on: the type of child care you use your family s income the number of children you have in child care, and whether you meet the Child Care Benefit work, training or study test, or you have an exemption. You can claim Child Care Benefit for approved child care or registered child care. However, you must meet the residency and child s immunisation requirements, and be the person responsible for paying the child care fees. You need to claim Child Care Benefit for approved care to be eligible for other assistance from us, such as the Child Care Rebate, JET Child Care Fee Assistance or Grandparent Child Care Benefit. Approved child care Approved child care can be before or after school care, family day care, vacation care, long day care, in home care, and some occasional care services. Ask your child care service if they are Child Care Benefit approved or look online at mychild.gov.au Payment options There are two ways you can receive Child Care Benefit for approved child care: directly to your child care service, which will reduce your fees and help you manage your weekly budget, or as a lump sum at the end of the financial year, if you have irregular work or if you are unsure about your income. Up to 42 absence days per child per year for any reason can be paid. Any additional absences need to be approved by your child care service. FPR PAGE 1 OF 4

6 Registered child care Registered child care is provided by grandparents, relatives, friends or nannies who are registered as providers with us. Payment options Child Care Benefit for registered care is paid directly to your bank account once processed. Claims for registered child care must be lodged with valid receipts for care provided within the last 52 weeks. How to claim Child Care Benefit To claim Child Care Benefit for approved care, you can complete an online claim or download a claim form. For registered child care, you can download a claim form. Next steps To find out about eligibility for Child Care Benefit and how to start the claiming process, visit humanservices.gov.au/childcarebenefit Child Care Rebate Child Care Rebate is paid in addition to Child Care Benefit. You may be eligible to get Child Care Rebate if you are eligible for Child Care Benefit for approved child care (even if you are assessed at a zero rate due to your income). You need to meet the Child Care Rebate work, training or study test at some time during the week or have an exemption. You must also be using a Child Care Benefit approved service. The Child Care Rebate covers 50 per cent of your out-of-pocket expenses for child care up to a maximum amount per child per year. Child Care Rebate is not means tested. You cannot receive Child Care Rebate for registered care. Payment options There are four ways you can receive Child Care Rebate: directly to your child care service/s fortnightly or weekly directly to your bank account fortnightly or weekly directly to your bank account quarterly, or as a lump sum at the end of the financial year (only available for new customers when they claim an annual lump sum payment for Child Care Benefit after the financial year). 7 How to claim Child Care Rebate There is no claim form for Child Care Rebate. You do not need to claim Child Care Rebate separately. You will automatically be paid if you are eligible when you claim Child Care Benefit for approved child care. It may be available if you get an eligible income support payment, are eligible for the maximum rate of Child Care Benefit and doing approved activities such as work, job searching, training, study or rehabilitation as part of an Employment Pathway Plan. Payment options JET Child Care Fee Assistance is paid directly to your Child Care Benefit approved child care service on your behalf. It can help meet the cost of your child care by paying some of the difference between the total child care fee and the amount covered by Child Care Benefit. You will still need to make a small contribution towards the cost of your child care. Half of this can be offset by the Child Care Rebate.
