Each product is entrusted to a team of lighting designers, architects and electronic and mechanical engineers able to support the customer throughout the entire design and construction process leading to completion of a project. The space and environmental context is first analysed, then the lighting is studied using the Radiance software to identify the best solution to propose to the customer. The chosen product is engineered, designed and produced entirely in the company s premises at Rovereto in the province of Trento. Production is 100% in-house, allowing the product verification and control necessary to guarantee and certify top quality. 5 KAFD Light Concept EDGY The aim of the lighting study was to give the building a distinctive identity, integrating it into the particular urban contest, including its proximity to the Mosque, urban thoroughfares and surrounding buildings. The façade lighting visually defines the corners and the architectural volumes. The lighting installation uses latest technology luminaires, maximising efficiency, sustainability and maintenance. Meticulous design enabled the requirements for energy certification by accredited organisations to be satisfied. On Febbruary 2015, Far Systems won the Oustanding Facade Lighting Award in the context of the Facade Design and Engineering Awards at the 7th Annual Facade Desing & Engineering Middle East, Doha, Qatar. Lo studio illuminotecnico è basato sul presupposto di dare una particolare identità all edificio, integrandosi nel contempo al singolare contesto urbano, compresa la vicinanza alla Moschea, ai percorsi urbani e agli edifici circostanti. L illuminazione della facciata consente di definire visivamente gli angoli e i volumi architetturali. L impianto illuminotecnico è realizzato con l impiego di sorgenti luminose di ultima tecnologia, adatte a ottenere il massimo per efficienza, sostenibilità e manutenzione. Un attenta progettazione, ha consentito di ottemperare alle richieste di certificazione energetica da parte di enti accreditati.

The luminaires are designed and produced in compliance with the most stringent regulations and standards, paying particular attention to all technical aspects and the specific requirements of the surrounding environment, such as high temperatures, humidity, dust or smog. Il corpo illuminante è basato sulla tecnologia edge-led lighting, realizzato su misura per adattarsi ed inserirsi nella struttura della facciata, integrandosi perfettamente, dando vita ad un nuovo ed unico elemento architettonico. 8 Tour OdÉon - Light Concept SKINNY With its 48 floors, the 170 m high Tour Odéon, is destined to become the new icon of the Monaco skyline and Europe s tallest residential skyscraper. The lighting project employs a minute LED-based luminaire incorporating all the necessary technology despite its small size. The company s knowledge of materials and great experience resulted in perfect integration between light and matter, creating a unique and evocative lighting effect. A system for managing dynamic light scenes cloaks the entire building in a special discreet glow, a thrilling relationship between the reflections on the sea and the starry sky. Tour Odéon, con i suoi 48 piani e 170 metri di altezza, è destinata a divenire la nuova icona dello skyline di Monaco e la più alta torre residenziale d Europa. Il progetto illuminotecnico impiega un corpo illuminante basato sul sistema a LED, di ridottissime dimensioni, pur integrando in sé tutta la tecnologia necessaria. La conoscenza dei materiali e la grande esperienza, hanno consentito una perfetta integrazione tra luce e materia, donando un effetto illuminotecnico suggestivo ed unico. Un sistema di gestione delle scene luminose dinamiche veste l intero edifico di uno speciale e discreto scintillio; entusiasmante relazione tra i riflessi luminosi in mare ed il cielo stellato.

11 Ponti ExpO Light Concept BRIDGY A sequence of staggered arches, a complex structural design aimed at lightness and transparency, the kinetic effect of achromic black/white : this is how Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel describe their design for a new 600 m long bridge connecting the city of Milan with the Expo 2015 site between the A4 and A8. The lighting design developed by the Metis Studio involves suitably oriented and screened high efficiency luminaires incorporated into the structure. Una sequenza di archi sfalsati, un progetto strutturale complesso al servizio di leggerezza e trasparenza, l effetto cinetico dell acromo bianco/nero : con queste parole Antonio Citterio e Patricia Viel descrivono il loro progetto per il nuovo ponte lungo 600 metri, che collegherà la città di Milano e l area dell Expo 2015 fra A4 e A8. Il progetto illuminotecnico realizzato dallo Studio Metis prevede corpi illuminanti a LED ad alta efficienza integrati nella struttura, opportunamente orientati e schermati.

14 Casa Milan - Light Concept WALLY Designed by architect Fabio Novembre, Casa Milan is part of a wider vision for the renewal and expansion of the Football Club. The façade of Casa Milan encompasses all the themes which are then covered inside the building. Large sculptures of athletes going up the sloping edge complete the action with a kick which produces the effect of propagating the red and black which colours the walls. On the façade there is a permanent maxi-screen where the symbols of Milan and historical images of the club are projected. We have correctly installed the largest screen in southern Europe in less than nine days. Casa Milan, progettata dall architetto Fabio Novembre, si inserisce in una più ampia visione di rinnovamento ed espansione del Club. La facciata di Casa Milan racchiude tutti i temi che poi verranno trattati all interno dell edificio. Grandi sculture di atleti risalenti il bordo inclinato concludono l azione con un tiro che genera l effetto di propagazione rosso nero che colora i fronti. Sulla facciata un maxischermo permanente dove saranno proiettati i simboli del Milan e le immagini storiche del club. Abbiamo correttamente installato il più grande display del Sud Europa in meno di 9 giorni.

15 Casa Milan - Technical Details WALLY The physical size of the screen, to ensure 16:9 aspect ratio will be 19.2 meters (width) x m (height). The depth of the screen, depending on the chosen LED module, it will be around 180 mm it mainly depends on the installation mode chosen and the type of LED module as related to the need for heat dissipation of the screen. The entire screen will be constituted by a series of independent LED modules which, once installed on a special metal frame, will be controlled from the control room by a special control system. Basic requirement of the project is to ensure a front access modules to allow maintenance personnel to a quick replacement in case of failure. Il requisito fondamentale del progetto è garantire un accesso frontale ai moduli per permettere agli addetti alla manutenzione di eseguire rapidamente le sostituzioni necessarie in caso di guasto. 17 Kafd Light Concept WASHY Part of the prestigious King Abdullah Financial District development, Kafd Parcel 1.11 is a top quality office block with points-of-sale. Taking the form of two interconnected towers with a sophisticated design, the volumes of the building consist of two unified layers: fixed sun screens and a simple thermal glazed façade. The lighting solution uses customised luminaires designed specifically for this prestigious building and positioned between the outer installations of the building and the double-skin façade. The small size ensures perfect integration between the luminaires and the structural elements, while the optical wall washer uniforms the lighting, giving the entire building a pleasing and elegant appearance. Kafd Parcel 1.11, parte del prestigioso sviluppo King Abdullah Financial District, è un edificio per uffici di alta qualità con spazi di vendita. La volumetria dell edificio sviluppato sotto forma di due torri interconnesse e dal design ricercato, è composto da due strati unificati: elementi frangisole fissi e una semplice, facciata vetrata termica. La soluzione illuminotecnica impiega apparecchi custom progettati appositamente per questo prestigioso edificio, collocati tra le rete esterna dell edificio e la facciata a doppia pelle. 20 Millennium Tower - Light Concept MEDIA MATRIX The Millennium Tower is a 150 m high futuristic building in the Abuja Cultural Centre (Nigeria). The lighting design involved equipping the Tower with a screen dimensioned so as to display the logo of Nigeria, but also with a control system enabling alternative images to be displayed completely dynamically. The need to fix the screen with an anchoring system on steel cables was of fundamental importance to perfectly integrate the element with the structure and make it completely transparent when not in function. Il Millennium Tower è un edificio futuristico di 150 metri di altezza, presente nel Centro Culturale di Abuja (Nigeria). Il compito illuminotecnico è quello di dotare la Torre di uno schermo dimensionato per la visualizzazione del logo della Nigeria, ma tramite il sistema di controllo, avere anche la possibilità di visualizzare immagini alternative in modo completamente dinamico. Di estrema importanza la necessità di fissare lo schermo con un sistema di ancoraggio su cavi d acciaio per rendere l elemento perfettamente integrato alla struttura e completamente trasparente quando non in funzione.

21 MILLENNIUM Tower - Technical Details MEDIA MATRIX The screen, with indicative dimensions of 18 m wide by 15 m high, occupies the central part of sail no. 2, and is made from strips consisting of LED modules with a resolution of 15 cm x 15 cm between individual modules and between adjacent strips. The strips are anchored to the metal structure of the sail by 2 mm thick stainless steel cables which create the tracks supporting the LED modules. The anchoring system and division of the strips making up the façade are modular, allowing the strips (or individual modules) to be replaced in the event of malfunction. The lighting system is equipped with a built-in diagnostics system, complies with the most stringent standards and pays particular attention to all technical aspects and the specific requirements of the surrounding atmosphere, such as temperature, humidity, dust or smog. Lo schermo, di dimensioni orientative di 18 metri di larghezza e 15 metri di altezza, si estende occupando la parte centrale della vela Nr. 2, realizzato mediante fasce costituite da moduli LED con una risoluzione di 15cm x 15cm tra si singoli moduli e tra le strisce adiacenti. L ancoraggio delle fasce alla struttura metallica che costituisce la vela viene ottenuto mediante cavi in acciaio inossidabile, di spessore 2mm, che realizzeranno i binari di sostegno dei moduli LED. I sistema di ancoraggio e la suddivisione delle strisce che realizzano la facciata è modulare, consentendo la facile sostituzione delle strisce (o del singolo modulo) in caso di guasto. Il sistema di illuminazione, dotato di diagnostica integrata, segue le più restringenti normative e presta attenzione a tutti gli aspetti tecnici ed alle esigenze specifiche riscontrate nell ambiente circostante quali temperatura, umidità, polveri o smog.
