3 Attention to details, passion and history since LAS started producing horsemanship helmets but already from the early 80s began producing cycling helmets. These cycling helmets had the same high quality features that LAS wanted to grant to its products and in fact they became soon a benchmark in the professional cycling world gaining great victories with riders who made the history of this sport. Thus LAS contributes to make the helmet something necessary not only for rider safety but for his style on the saddle. 4 HAND MADE IN ITALY PROJECT - PROGETTO Everything starts from a vision and the creativity to give birth to an idea. First drafts are hand drawn searching for the essence and the soul of the leading idea of the product. Drawings and drafts are collected and processed in order to gain the main features that will characterize the final product and that will be its development foundation. Tutto nasce da una visione e dalla creatività di dar vita ad un idea. Le prime bozze vengono elaborate a mano ricercando l essenza dell idea che sarà alla base del nuovo prodotto. Le tavole di schizzi e le bozze vengono raggruppate e raccolte per estrapolare i caratteri chiave che delineeranno il prodotto e che saranno alla base dello sviluppo. MODEL - MAQUETTE Starting from drawings it s possible creating firsts 3d maquettes that show the ipotethical final shape of the helmet, in order to evaluate the final quality and functional features allowing a new process of project details definition. Dai disegni è possibile realizzare le prime maquette tridimensionali che rendono le reali forme ed aspetto fisico del casco al fine di valutarne le qualità estetiche e funzionali, permettendo così di affinare il progetto nei più piccoli dettagli. TECHNICAL DRAWING - DISEGNI TECNICI Born by ideas and drafts, now the product and its main features have to be renderized by technical drawings that will set the definitive project main lines. The idea grows passing through technical measurement and shape datas drawings of the final helmet. Originate dalle idee e dalle bozze, le forme e le fattezze del prodottovengono ora rese attraverso disegni tecnici che definiscono in linea definitiva il progetto. L idea prende forma quindi attraverso la stesura di tavole contenenti i dati di misura e forma di quello che sarà il cascorealizzato.

5 3D ENGINEERING - 3D INGEGNERIZZAZIONE After the maquette realization, it s necessary define all the changes in order to achieve all the technical improvements of the helmet and its features both for the production process and for the end user. From technical drawings and the maquette it s possible to realize a 3d render of the helmet that simulates the final product in every detail and functionalities. Partendo da lastre piane di policarbonato, il processo di termoformatura crea la calotta esterna del casco che, durante il processo di costampaggio, diventa un elemento unico con l anima principale in EPS che è la struttura fondamentale del casco. Unendo due elementi come l EPS e il policarbonato, si ottiene una struttura leggera ma rinforzata dove è necessario. In seguito alle maquette, è necessario definire le modifiche per ottenere le migliorie tecniche del casco e le sue caratteristiche sia per la fase produttiva che per l utilizzatore finale. Dai disegni tecnici e dalla maquette si realizza una renderizzazione 3d che simula il prodotto finito in tutti i suoi dettagli e funzionalità. MOLDS - STAMPI Once all elements and details are defined during the engineering process, it s finally time to start with molds tooling. Molds are created starting from the 3d renders of the helmet and its parts, by milling a solid block of steel. Una volta definiti tutti gli elementi e dettagli del casco durante la fase di ingegnerizzazione, è finalmente possibile avviare la realizzazione degli stampi. Gli stampi sono creati partendo dai 3d del prodotto e delle sue componenti, fresando un blocco solido di acciaio. THERMOFORMED AND INMOULDING TERMOFORMATURA E COSTAMPAGGIO Starting from flat polycarbonate sheets, the thermoforming process creates the outer shell of the helmet which, during the inmolding process, becomes just one piece with the main EPS helmet structure. By joining these two elements, the EPS and the polycarbonate, it s possible to have a lightweight yet reinforced structure. ASSEMBLY - ASSEMBLAGGIO When all the helmet parts are ready, it s necessary to build up them together in order to create the final helmet. LAS assembles every helmet in Italy by hand with a particular details care. That s because LAS wants to obtain a very high end product that contains more than 40 years of quality helmet production know how. Quando tutti gli elementi costitutivi del casco sono realizzati, è necessario assemblarli. LAS assembla ogni suo casco e componente a mano in Italia, applicando una notevole e ricercata cura nei dettagli e nella lavorazione. Tutto per ottenere un prodotto che oltre agli elevati standard tecnici possa garantire livelli di qualità senza confronti contenente tutto il know how di un marchio con oltre 40 anni di esperienza nella produzione di caschi di qualità.

6 TECNOLOGY 06 INNER PADDING - IMBOTTITURA INTERNA All the LAS helmets have the inner removable PAD. Beside being made of hygienic and antibacterial material and ensuring the optimum fit, it includes the anti-insects net allowing proper ventilation and, at the same time, protection for the cyclist during use. Tutti i caschi LAS hanno il PAD interno rimovibile, che oltre ad essere in materiale igienico e antibatterico e a garantire il fit ottimale, è comprensivo di retina antiinsetti in grado di permettere la corretta aerazione ed al tempo stesso proteggere il ciclista durante l utilizzo. MAGNETIC CLIP - CHIUSURA MAGNETICA Magnetic locking system of the helmet strap buckle. Thanks to this technology, it s possible to fasten the helmet without the use of two hands, by simply bringing the two ends close each other. The internal magnet allows the closure that, thanks to the structure of the hooks, is tight and safe. Sistema di chiusura magnetica della clip sottogola del casco. Grazie a questa tecnologia è possibile allacciare il casco senza l utilizzo di due mani ma solo semplicemente avvicinando le due estremità della clip tra loro. Il magnete interno permette la chiusura che grazie alla struttura dei ganci risulta salda e sicura.

All the regulation systems adopeted on LAS helmets allow the size adjustment in 3 dimensions: it s possible to change the height and circumference of the neck restraint system, in order to adapt to any user. 10 COBALTO AERO Aero Cobalto permit to reduce the aerodynamic resistence about 3-5% calculating a speed of 50 km/h, respect a normal helmet, aeration garanted by frontal holes that allow a perfect internal air flow for the best thermic regulation.
