The art of craftsmanship is vanishing from today s world of warp speed. Like a fine jeweler cutting his stone, shaping his metal and creating the perfect flourish, it is devotion to detail that makes the magic. Vladimir Dubko is an artist who makes the magic. He explores digital media techniques to create themes reminiscent of the romantic periods of the 18th and 19th centuries, but draws from an unusual, worldwide cultural palette that creates spellbinding effect. In his works I see the filigree of an old Paris, an old New York and perhaps an old Mandalay, ultimately connecting us all to the heavens. L arte dell artigianato sta scomparendo nella velocità che caratterizza il mondo contemporaneo. Solo la dedizione al dettaglio può fare scattare la magia: come il gioielliere esperto che taglia la sua pietra, piega il suo metallo per creare una forma perfetta. Vladmir Dubko è un artista che fa scattare la magia. Utilizza le tecniche dei media digitali per creare temi che ci ricordano dei periodi romantici del sette-ottocento, attingendo a fonti culturali globali quanto insolite che creano un effetto ammaliante. Nelle sue opere scorgo la filigrana di un antica Parigi, un antica New York e forse un antica Mandalay, che alla fine collega tutti noi con i cieli. I suoi lavori sono pieni di fervore e di una squisita sensibilità artistica che ci invita a trattenerci oziosamente.

He got a degree in Communication Design in his native Vitebsk in Belarus and, after trying himself in advertising and in a number of design studios in Moscow, took up an artist residency at Fabrica Benetton s Research and Communication Centre. Working on online art projects in Interactive Department at Fabrica heavily influenced his choice of media for the future all his artworks created digitally. For the past 10 years Vladimir travelled the world living in Italy, Russia and Hong Kong before settling in Shanghai where he works extensively on commissioned interactive and graphic art projects in Asia, America and Europe. His recent clients include such commercial giants as Absolut Vodka, Siemens and Bosch, Swire Hotels. In the past four years he s been focusing on his personal art works that has resulted in the first solo exhibition in Shanghai in 2009. Vladimir s art has been exhibited in Moscow, Stockholm, Brussels, San Francisco, Shanghai and Le Centre Pompidou in Paris, and some of which were published in the number of review books on graphic design and illustration, including highly influential Taschen s Contemporary Graphic Design and the most recent edition of Luerzer s Archive 200 Best: Illustrators Worldwide 2011/2012. Artista Vladimir Dubko ha ricevuto una formazione multidisciplinare, studiando e lavorando negli ambienti dell arte e del design. Dopo avere ottenuto un diploma in Design della Comunicazione nella sua città natale di Vitebsk, in Bielorussia, ed essersi messo alla prova in pubblicità e in numerosi studi di design di Mosca, ha conseguito una residenza d artista a Fabrica il Centro di Ricerca e Comunicazione di Benetton. Lavorare a progetti artistici online nel Dipartimento di Interattività a Fabrica ha influenzato fortemente la sua scelta di media: tutta la sua arte è infatti creata digitalmente. In questi ultimi 10 anni Vladimir ha viaggiato per il mondo, vivendo in Italia, in Russia e a Hong Kong prima di stabilirsi a Shanghai, dove lavora ampiamente su commissione a progetti interattivi e di arte grafica per l Asia, l America e l Europa. Fra i suoi clienti recenti può annoverare marchi come Absolut Vodka, Bosch e Siemens o Swire Hotels. Negli ultimi quattro anni si è concentrato sulla propria ricerca, con una prima mostra personale a Shanghai nel 2009.
