Environment Park Hydrogen and FC Technologies Environment Park Torino
Environment Park A joint initiative of the Piedmont Region, the Turin District, the City of Turin and the European Union The primary purpose of the Park is to promote the development of applied environmental research To achieve this goal, a "cluster" of private firms and research bodies has been developed Hosting companies (more than 60 with a total of 600 employees) and laboratories in the environment and ICT field
Environment Park: the Company The project has been possible thanks to a very strong co-operation among local authorities and business associations. Envipark: Technology Transfer EP laboratories: all the activities of the labs are carried out in co-operation with Technical Universities and regional SMEs; in the labs companies can find information, equipment, technicians and opportunities to be involved in national and international R&D networks and projects. Labs provide high tech tests and prototype samples to industrial companies optimizing the investment in equipment and training of experts and reducing research costs for SMEs.
Environment Park and the coordination of the regional Hydrogen cluster (Sistema Piemonte Idrogeno SPH 2 ) Hydrogen represents one of the most promising clean technology for the future. The Piedmont region decided that it was fundamental to make the hydrogen sector a strategic feature given its industrial background and its strong and deep-rooted technical and technological know-how. Presence of major players such as institutions, universities, research centers, and some large companies in this sector. The structural assets of the manufacturing regional system could fit very well with the needs of the hydrogen sector. In 2002, Environment Park S.p.A., set up a laboratory based on hydrogen technologies called Hydrogen System Lab (HySy Lab). Today, the Lab is recognized in the region, nationally and across Europe as a centre of excellence in this field. Hydrogen is a new innovative field with wide chances of development
SPH 2 : The Mission Support and lead research in hydrogen technologies, promoting the transfer of technology from lab- to industrial-scale Promote the professional growth of technician and managers in universities, laboratories, and private enterprises Qualify technological components supply sector that could support demand from major international industrial players Create a cluster of hydrogen-specialized enterprises and research centres able to compete at an international level Laboratories 70 private companies including 5 start-ups Universities Local Authorities
HYSYLAB the H2 technology competence centre Launched in April 2002 A R&D Laboratory focused on hydrogen technologies A common initiative of Environment Park, Gruppo SAPIO, Politecnico di Torino, GTT Torino and Provincia di Torinorealized with the support of the Regione Piemonte and the Città di Torino Start up June 2003 Hysylab is the competence centre of the Piedmont Hydrogen System and of the operators of the sector, as a support laboratory for small and medium sized enterprises and as a training centre for future technicians working in the sector of the applied research.
HYSYLAB mission R&D laboratory focused on the following macro objectives: Production Storage Application training laboratory for technicians involved in H2 business testing laboratory for components and systems involved in the whole hydrogen chain Excellence centre for the development and the realization of pilot projects on Piedmont region
