Gareth McConnell Family. Una poesia d'amore del XXI secolo, 2006 "Non hai bisogno di uscire dalla tua stanza. Resta seduto al tuo tavolo e ascolta. Non hai neanche bisogno di ascoltare, semplicemente aspetta. Non hai nemmeno bisogno di aspettare, basta imparare a stare in silenzio, immobile e solitario. Il mondo ti si offrirà liberamente per farsi smascherare. Non ha scelta; si rotolerà estasiato ai tuoi piedi". Franz Kafka Franz Kafka era scrittore e poeta. Lui sì che aveva le parole quelle bellissime, superbe parole. Per parafrasare Lewis Hine, io le parole non le trovo, quindi faccio le foto. Tuttavia volevo scrivere una poesia, un poesia d amore, e ho deciso di farlo attraverso la fotografia. Ho seguito il consiglio di Franz e sono rimasto chiuso in casa. Ho aspettato con calma e pazienza, per raccogliere le mie parole immaginifiche e creare le strofe della mia poesia visiva. La mia poesia d amore per un popolo, un tempo, un luogo, diventa una specie di testimonianza di come le cose possono essere così fottutamente belle malgrado quanto le cose si facciano fottere o quanto si siano mai fatte fottere. L istante è tutto. È tutto ciò che abbiamo. Una poesia d amore ai miei amici e amanti, al mio Dio e alla mia famiglia, a TUTTI i miei fratelli e sorelle. Una poesia d amore per il triste e per il bello, per le risate e per le lacrime. Una poesia delle stagioni, dei cambiamenti e delle svolte, dei rossi e dei marroni, dei grigi e dei blu. Del cibo, dei fiori e della musica, della luce, del sole, della nascita e della morte, di come tutto debba cambiare, una poesia su come nulla può restare immutato.
