Will five senses be enough to discover the heart of Sardinia? LOLLOVE 15. 16 ottobre October 15. 16 2016 Vivilollove ASSESSORADU DE SU TURISMU, ARTESANIA E CUMMÈRTZIU ASSESSORATO DEL TURISMO, ARTIGIANATO E COMMERCIO
Lollove as a esser chei s abba e su mare: no as a crèschere ne apparèschere mai! A few kilometres from Nuoro, hidden by a lush vegetation, the little and fascinating village of Lollove appears, where the visitor is absorbed in a timeless era, suspended in a romantic past which resists to the passage of centuries. The village of Lollove is nestled in a wonderful hollow, which is flowed through by some streams and surrounded by verdant hills. Among the streets of the town centre, ancient ruins full of charm are covered by wild vegetation from which it is possible to take a glimpse at the old courtyards around the houses, fenced by dry-stone walls where little vegetable gardens were cultivated. The few inhabitants who still populate the little town dedicate themselves to agriculture and mainly to livestock: not too far from the houses it is possible to meet sheep, donkeys, horses, pigs and chickens. Lollove as a esser chei s abba e su mare: no as a crèschere ne apparèschere mai! With these words a curse was launched on the village, which from that moment remained enchanted and surrounded in a evocative atmosphere where an almost unreal silence reigns. Legend has it that some nuns of the ancient monastery, maybe some Franciscan penitents, were accused to have had carnal relations with the local shepherds and were forced to leave the village. Moving away, they pronounced the terrible sentence: Lollove you will be like sea water, you won t rise and you will never show (to be risen). The history seems to have become real for the little centre, which has not vanished thanks to the tenacity of the few inhabitants who still today hand down the ancient story and the local habits. The excellent preservation status of traditional architecture has made this little town famous all over the Island.
