Congresso Nazionale Satellitare di Chirurgia della Cataratta Milano, Sabato 27 Ottobre 2001 Sede Congressuale: Hotel Marriot Sedi congressuali in contemporanea Bologna, Cagliari, Catania, Lecce, Napoli, Reggio Calabria, Roma ORGANIZZATORE DEL CONGRESSO Lucio Buratto DIRETTORI DEL CONGRESSO R. Bellucci, C. Genisi, P. Giardini, V. Picardo, M. Piovella, M. Zanini PROGRAMMA DEFINITIVO
Lucio Buratto

Italian Satellite Congress of Cataract Surgery Milan, Saturday October 27 th 2001 Congress Headquarters: Hotel Marriott Congress Headquarters linked with Milan Bologna, Cagliari, Catania, Lecce, Naples, Reggio Calabria, Rome CONGRESS ORGANIZER Lucio Buratto CONGRESS DIRECTORS R. Bellucci, C. Genisi, P. Giardini, V. Picardo, M. Piovella, M. Zanini DEFINITIVE PROGRAM
SATELCATARACT This year, Satelcataract has changed appearance once again. The congress will be based in Milan and will be broadcast live to seven other Italian cities. The Milan headquarters will host the round tables, the surgery and the exhibition; as a result, the event will be more enjoyable and complete. The entire program will be broadcast live to the remote centers by satellite. Even though the congress will be slightly more detached, it will allow those attending closer to home to reduce the time and the cost of the travel. The one-day congress will be filled with both surgical and scientific events, providing a full experience for those attending. The organization of the congress will be simple and dynamic: as usual the live surgery sessions will be performed by specialists of international renown. The number of operations will be sufficient to permit the clear explanation of the surgical choices; moreover, the presentation of the clinical cases will be planned to supply the greatest amount of practical surgical information for the surgeons. During surgery, all the major instrument and lens manufacturers will be represented in order to provide the broadest overview possible. The surgery will be performed in a Day Hospital structure to reflect the current national and international reality of eye surgery. There will be none of the traditional lectures with slide projections and the entire congress will focus on the Round Tables with planned contributions, and on the discussions. There will also be a series of talks by eminent international colleagues on subjects of specific interest. The congress will be managed by a team of Italy s top eye specialists. This is oriented to providing those attending the congress with a highly interesting and extremely useful scientific program that is also dynamic and entertaining. The congress will take full advantage of all the latest television technology, both for the live surgery sessions and for the presentations. It will also use the latest technology for audio-visual teaching. Many Italian congresses can be described as static and repetitive. I am convinced that Satelcataract will once again be an innovative congress that will keep the participants stimulated and fully up-to-date on what is happening on the Italian and international scenarios. Welcome to Satelcataract, quality, tradition and avant-garde where cataract surgery is concerned. Lucio Buratto
