1 SHOWS AND EVENTS EN E TS Mo EUROPEAN CH by Simone Leo photos by Irina Filsinger Nella solita alternanza tra Italia e Belgio, il nato Europeo 2008 si è svolto, in questa edizione, campio- nella bella Moorsele, cittadina nei pressi del fine con la Francia. concapitanato Ben collaudato il team organizzativo belga, dalla sig.ra Christine Jamar-Demeersseman e dal marito Guy Jamar, coadiuvati dal sig. Carl Van Roosbroeck e dalla moglie la sig.rs Leen Andries, che si è cimentato in questa nuova sfida. Il meraviglioso padiglione nel centro equestre estr e di Moorsele era come sempre ben allestito. Nel compito più gravoso per una manifestazione ne di questa portata, è stato condotto dai giudici, davvero di spessore, che si sono avvicendati tra le varie categorie. Ben sette i membri della giuria per delineare il podio finale, la sig.ra Ann Norden (SW), la sig.ra Christiane Chazel (F), il dr. Francesco Santoro (IT), la sig.ra Titti Gagliani (IT), il sig. Jaroslav Lacina (CZ), la sig.ra Joanne Lowe (GB) ed il sig. Koenraad Detailleur (B). La competizione ha avuto inizio con la categoria delle puledre di un anno, ardua competizione vista la qualità ed il numero delle partecipanti in campo. Prima su tutte te la bella *Jumilla (Thee Apprentice x Artemis), allevata a da Mell & Dolfe (SE) ed acquistata dalla Dubai Arabian Horse Stud (UAE). Secondo posto per *F.M. Gloriaa (WH Justice x Psity Of Angels), allevata e di proprietà di Jans Mieke (B). Al terzo posto un altra bellissima esponente di questa tegoria, anch essa prodotto di WH Justice, la grigia *Aja Aphrodite (x Lovin Psyche) che in questa occasione non si è espressa al meglio. La bella puledra è di proprietà dell Aja Arabians (UK). ca- La seconda categoria, quella dei puledri maschi di un anno, I n accordance with the usual rota between Italy and Belgium, the 2008 edition of the European Championship was held in the lovely town of Moorsele, near the border with France. The well-tested organizingng team was headed by Mrs. Christine Jamar-Demeersseman an and her husband Guy Jamar, and included Carl Van Roosbroeck and his wife Leen Andries, who tackled this new challenge. leng e. La bella grigia è stata allevata dalla Ses Planes di Marieta Salas (ES) e di proprietà dell Al Mohammadiah madi Arabain Horse Stud (KSA). La baia *Zawah De Lam (AS Kayro x Wilaya De Lam), allevata dalla la ETS Lam s Arabians (FR) e recentemente acquistata dalla Royal Cavalry dall Oman, si attesta al secondo posto mentre, a seguire, al terzo posto si attesta *Wologda (Ekstern x Wanilia) dell allevamento Janow Podlaski (PL). Combattuta, come potrebbe essere sere altrimenti, anche la by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud (UAE). Second place for *F.M. Gloriaaa (WH Justice x Psity Of Angels), bred and owned by Jans Mieke (B). The second category, that of yearling colts, saw the wonderful victory of the outstanding *Ali Moniscione (Psytadel x Alianna Moniscione), a chestnut with a chiseled head bred and owned by the Buzzi stud of Mr. Giancarlo Buzzi (IT). Su tutti *Kabsztad che, al di là del nome impronunciabile, ha dalla sua una parentela di tutto rispetto, padre Poganin e madre Kwestura, scusate se è poco. Il grigio è stato allevato ed è di proprietà dell allevamento Michalow (PL). Al secondo posto un altro grigio, il bel *Orion OS (Omei Bahreyn x Velta), allevato e di proprietà di Brown Jane Fraser (UK), mentre il terzo posto è andato al baio *Lord Bey Shah (Psytadel x Lady Aphrodite DO), allevato e di by Remy Rolf (UK) was third. The third category saw the competition of two-year-old fillies. Dominating this category was *Abha Palma (Marwan Al Shaqab x Abha Gazali), a very well known filly thanks to the results obtained in important competitions. The beautiful gray filly was bred by Ses Planes of Marieta Salas (ES) and owned by the Al Mohammadiah Arabian Horse Stud (KSA). The bay *Zawah De Lam (AS Kayro x Wilaya De Lam), bred by ETS Lam s Arabians (FR) and recently purchased by the Royal Cavalry of Oman, finished 24 TUTTO ARABI

La categoria delle puledre di tre anni ha visto, nei primi tre posti tre prodotti del noto stallone Ekstern, al primo posto un altro prodotto dell allevamento Janow Podlaski (PL), parliamo di *Altamira (x Altona), al secondo posto *Eksterna, (x Emanta) allevata e di proprietà della Falborek Arabians (PL) mentre al terzo posto si attesta *Herlina (Heroldia) di proprietà di SO Bialka (PL). Complimenti ad Ekstern ed alla sua produzione. Nella categoria dei puledri maschi di tre anni si attesta al primo posto con il punteggio di 90,1 *Kunar T (Nadir I x Kupona) di proprietà della Kossack Stud (NL), al secondo posto con il punteggio di 90 si è dovuto accontentare del secondo posto il bel *MM Fabrizio (CH El Brillo x MFA Forgetmenot), allevato da Mario Matt (A) e di proprietà della Tripodi Arabians del dr. Francesco Tripodi (IT). Terzo posto per *Nesj El Khimani (Khidar x Nesj El Shayna), allevato e di proprietà della Nesj Arabians (B). Strepitosa la settima categorie che ha visto in campo le signore del ring, le giovani fattrici che in questo caso hanno ammaliato il numeroso pubblico presente. Come nella categoria delle puledre di tre anni tre meravigliose figlie dell altrettanto strepitoso padre, Gazal Al Shaqab, conquistano i primi tre gradini del podio. Con un punteggio ottimo vince agilmente la meravigliosa *Pianissima (x Pianosa) dell allevamento Janow Podlaski (PL), al secondo posto *Pistoria (x Palmira) mentre chiude al terzo posto *Norma (x Nina). Con meno soggetti ma dall alta qualità l ottava categoria, quella delle fattrici dai sei ai sette anni, che ha riservato comunque emozioni. Ottimi i punteggi per la prima classificata, la sempre più affascinante *Fer Mia (JK Nasser x Res. Colt Foals MALIK EL NEFOUS (Royal Colours x Sheherazade Bint Nile) Breeder & Owner: Sophie Roevens, Asil Arabians/Belgium Evening Parade QR MARC 2008 Al Khalediah Show & 2008 Elran Cup Champion Colt Owned by Paul Geysens/Belgium in second place ahead of *Wologda (Ekstern x Wanilia) of the Janow Podlaski (PL). Hard-fought but how could it be otherwise! was the category of two-year-old colts, where the top places were just a matter of a fraction of points. *Kabsztad, apart from the unpronounceable name, has a noteworthy pedigree: his sire is Poganin and his dam is Kwestura, try to beat that! The gray colt was bred and is owned by Michalow (PL). The second place went to another gray colt, the gorgeous *Orion OS (Omei Bahreyn x Velta), bred and owned by TUTTO ARABI 25

Atkin (UK). Anch essa un po scarna in termini di partecipanti ma non per questo meno interessante, la categoria delle fattrici dagli otto ai dieci anni. The seventh category featuring the ladies of the ring was simply riveting, with the competitors charming the entire audience. As for the category of three-year-old fillies, the three steps of the podium were occupied by three wonderful daughters of the excellent Gazal Al Shaqab. Thanks to an excellent score, the victory went to the wonderful *Pianissima (x Pianosa) of Janow Podlaski (PL), followed in second place by *Pistoria (x Palmira) and in third by *Norma (x Nina). The eighth category features fewer entries but all the mares aged six to seven were of high quality and produced TUTTO ARABI 27

After this category, it was the turn of the futurity championship, which features eleven sweet fillies born in The winner was the beautiful *Madiha sired by the Triple Crown winner MA Shadow El Sher (x Mallika), a very interesting filly, bred and owned by Mr. Ben Goossens (B). An excellent second place for the straight Egyptian, sired by the world champion Royal Colour *Malik El Nefous (x Scheherazade Bint Nile), bred and owned by Asil Arabians (B). *Yokidoki F (Valerio Ibn Eternity x Yarra) owned by Zwet- Forelock s Arabians (NL) was third. The final championship, filled with tension and anticipation, gave the title of Champion Filly to the lovely *Abha Palma, presented by Philip Loyens owned by the Al Mohammadiah Arabian Horse Stud (KSA) and well managed by Bruce Mc Crea. The title of Reserve Champion went to another wonderful filly, *Jumilla, well trained and presented by the Ca di Gianni team and by Paolo Capecci. This filly is owned by the Dubai Arabian Horse Stud (UAE). The Champion Colt of this European championship was the incredible *Ali Moniscione owned by the Buzzi Stud of Mr. Giancarlo Buzzi (IT), proof of the improvements that Italian breeding continues to make. After Ajman Moniscione, the Buzzi family is establishing itself as one of Europe s most important studs. Congratulations also to the Ca di Gianni team and to Paolo Capecci for this staggering victory. The Reserve Champion title went to the outstanding *Kabsztad owned by Michalow (PL), an important pedigree for a colt which continues to improve TUTTO ARABI 33

A seguire si è disputato il campionato futurity, con le dolci puledre nate nel 2008, con ben undici soggetti iscritti. Su tutte ha primeggiato la bella *Madiha figlia del Triple Crown MA Shadow El Sher (x Mallika), soggetto interessante allevato e di proprietà del sig. Ben Goossens (B). Al secondo posto un altra figlia di un Campione del Mondo, 2 pl. Stallion 11 y.o. & above EMROD at every show. Champion Mare was the incomparable *Pianissima owned by Janow Podlaski (PL), presented by Greg Gallun, who repeats the success obtained in Aachen. The Reserve title was awarded to the charming *Martinique, which managed to win over the public with her extraordinary type and the thrilling movement. This magnificent mare is owned by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud (UAE) and was presented by Paolo Capecci. Champion Stallion was the multichampion *Nijem Ibn Eternity VI (Eternity Ibn Navarrone P x Naravna), well presented by Philip Hosay. The former triple crown winner is owned by the Al Khalediah Stables (KSA).
