FORTE DI FENESTRELLE Il Forte di Fenestrelle é la più grande struttura fortificata d Europa, nel Mondo seconda solo alla Grande Muraglia Cinese. Per questo motivo viene chiamata la Grande Muraglia Piemontese. Si tratta di un opera colossale composta da tre Forti (Forte San Carlo, Tre Denti e Delle Valli), sette ridotte, due batterie, venti risalti, polveriere, cannoniere e magazzini collegati tra loro da due scale. THE FORTRESS OF FENESTRELLE The Fenestrelle Fort is the largest fortified structure in Europe, second in the world only after the «Great wall of China». For this reason it is called «Great wall of Piedmont». It is a colossal work consisting of three Forts (Fort San Carlo, Tre Denti and Delle Valli), seven small, two batteries, twenty ridges, storage of gunpowder, cannons and warehouses connected together by two stairways.
LA SACRA DI SAN MICHELE La Sacra di San Michele é l abbazia simbolo del Piemonte, costruita nelle Alpi intorno ad una roccia tra il 983 e il 987, é il sito religioso più suggestivo di tutta la Regione. La sua eccezionale posizione domina e sovrasta tutta la bassa valle. In un itinerario ideale, possiamo unire l Arcangelo del Monte Pirchiriano ad altre due importanti abbazie: quella di Mont Saint- Michel in Normandia e quella del Monte Sant Angelo sul Gargano. SACRA DI SAN MICHELE This abbey is the symbol of Piedmont and was built on the Alps around a rocky spur between 983 and 987. It is the most evocative religious site in the region. Its exceptional location overlooks and dominate the entire lower valley. In this ideal itinerary, we combine the Archangel of Mount Pirchiriano with two other important abbeys in the Alps: the Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy and Monte Sant Angelo in the Gargano area.
SANTUARIO DI OROPA Le origini di questo santuario, che sorge a 1.200 metri di altitudine, sono antichissime: fu prima luogo di passaggio e successivamente di devozione per i pellegrini che salivano a pregare di fronte alla statua della Vergine Nera. I Savoia, per cui Oropa ebbe una grande importanza simbolica e devozionale, chiamarono i più grandi architetti di corte per trasformare l'antica chiesa nel più maestoso santuario mariano dell'arco alpino. SANTUARIO DI OROPA The origins of this sanctuary that is situated at an altitude of 1,200 meters are very ancient: it was at first a place of passage and successively a place of devotion for pilgrims that went to pray in front of the statue of the Black Virgin. For the Savoy's family Oropa had had a great importance, both symbolically and devotionally, they called the main architects of the court on the way to transforming the ancient church in the majestic sanctuary of the entire Alps.

CASTELLO DEL VALENTINO Nel cuore verde del parco ottocentesco di Torino, il Castello del Valentino ha conosciuto nei secoli diverse destinazioni d'uso prima di diventare sede della Facoltà di Architettura del Politecnico di Torino. Già residenza fluviale extraurbana nel '500, conobbe il suo periodo di massimo splendore sotto Cristina di Francia, prima Reggente dello Stato sabaudo, che lo scelse come palazzo di rappresentanza, ampliandolo secondo il gusto francese e promuovendo la ricca decorazione delle sale al piano nobile. CASTELLO DEL VALENTINO In the heart of a nineteenth-century park, the Castle had had in the centuries different uses till it became the seat of Politecnico. Already suburban residence in XVI century knew its period of heigh splendor under Cristina of France, first regent of the House of Savoy, she chose it as a palace of representation and she enlarged it under the French canons and she promoted the rich decorations of the halls.
