L Università degli Studi dell Insubria in occasione del decimo anniversario di fondazione, in collaborazione con l A.I.E. (Associazione Italiana Ex Libris) bandisce un Concorso Internazionale di Ex Libris sul tema: De Libera Universitate L Università degli Studi dell Insubria è stata istituita il 14 luglio 1998; ha sede sia a Varese che a Como, due città poste in riva ad un lago e ai piedi delle Prealpi, in un territorio che anticamente era conosciuto come INSUBRIA, da cui il nome della Università. REGOLAMENTO 1) Il concorso è aperto a tutti gli artisti. La partecipazione è gratuita. 2) Sono ammesse al concorso esclusivamente le opere eseguite con le tecniche della grafica d arte originale tradizionale (calcografia, xilografia e litografia). Tutte le opere realizzate con altre tecniche non saranno valutate agli effetti della competizione. 3) Gli ex libris presentati devono: - sviluppare il tema del concorso: De libera Universitate; - avere dimensione massima di carta di mm 210 x 148 (DIN A5), con dimensione libera di stampa; - non presentare indicazioni di altri concorsi; - indicare a matita sul retro, cognome, nome e indirizzo dell artista, anno di esecuzione dell opera, dimensioni della parte incisa, tecnica usata e titolo; - riportare la scritta: EX LIBRIS UNIVERSITAS STUDIORUM INSUBRIAE 1998-2008 Solo i lavori con questi requisiti saranno valutati al fine del concorso. Tutte le opere mancanti di anche solo uno dei requisiti richiesti non saranno valutate. 4) Ogni artista può partecipare con un massimo di due opere, e ognuna di esse deve essere in almeno 4 (quattro) esemplari firmati, di cui tre faranno parte del patrimonio dell Università e uno della raccolta dell A.I.E., e saranno liberamente utilizzati nel tempo per gli scopi istituzionali dei due enti. Ogni partecipante deve compilare la scheda allegata al presente bando. Le opere inviate non saranno restituite. 5) L Università degli Studi dell Insubria istituisce 3 premi del valore di 2000, 1000 e 500 da assegnare rispettivamente al primo, secondo e terzo classificato.
6) L opera prima classificata dovrà essere consegnata in 80 esemplari che il Magnifico Rettore dell Università dell Insubria donerà ai Rettori delle altre Università Italiane, a ricordo del decennale. 7) Le opere presentate, accettate da un apposita giuria, saranno valutate per l inserimento nel Catalogo ed esposte nell Aula Magna dell Università degli Studi dell Insubria nell autunno del 2008, a conclusione del ciclo di manifestazioni del decennale. In occasione dell inaugurazione di tale esposizione verranno proclamati i vincitori e consegnati i premi. 8) La giuria di cinque membri sarà composta da un rappresentante dell Università degli Studi dell Insubria (Rettore o suo delegato), da 2 artisti e da 2 esperti collezionisti designati dall A.I.E. 9) Gli ex libris dovranno essere inviati, con raccomandata postale, entro le ore 12.00 del 31 luglio 2008, al seguente indirizzo: Università degli Studi dell Insubria Segreteria Comitato Decennale via Ravasi 2 21100 Varese (VA) Italy In ogni caso fa fede la data del timbro postale. 10) Gli artisti le cui opere saranno pubblicate, riceveranno gratuitamente il catalogo. 11) La partecipazione al concorso comporta la piena accettazione del presente regolamento. The University of Insubria Board, in collaboration with A.I.E. (Italian Ex Libris Association), advertises the International Ex Libris Competition, the theme is: De Libera Universitate University of Insubria was established on 14th July 1998. It has its seat in Varese and Como, cities which both are on the hedge of a lake and close to the mountains called Prealpi. The University is named after the ancient toponym indicating this territory INSUBRIA. COMPETITION RULES 1) The Competition is open to all artists. Participation is free of charge. 2) Only entries made using the traditional techniques of the original graphic art (chalcography, xylography, lithography) will be accepted for the Competition. Entries made using other techniques will not be evaluated in the Competition. 3) The Ex Libris entries should: - represent the theme of the Competition: De libera Universitate; - be printed on paper no larger than A5 (148mm x 210mm); the printed area may be any size; - not contain indications or markings of other competitions. - give the following information (written, in pencil, on the reverse side): full name and address of the artist, year of execution, dimensions of the engraved part, technique used, and title; - all entries must have the following inscription: EX LIBRIS UNIVERSITAS STUDIORUM INSUBRIAE 1998-2008 Only entries with all the above requisites will be evaluated in the Competition. All those missing one or more of these requisites will not be considered. 4) Each artist may take part with a maximum of two works. Each of which must be in at least four signed copies; three to be held in the Insubria University collection and one in the A.I.E. collection. These may be used at will by both institutions. Every participant must complete the entry form attached to this announcement. Entries will not be returned. 5) The Board of Insubria University has offered three prizes to the value of: 2000, 1000 and 500 which will be awarded to the first, second and third winners respectively.
6) The work that will win the first prize, will be engraved in 80 copies, to be used as gift by the Rector of University of Insubria to his Italian colleagues. 7) The entries, once accepted by the Jury, will be selected for publication in a Catalogue and displayed in the Aula Magna of Insubria University in autumn 2008, at the end of celebration. The announcement of the winners and prizegiving will take place during the opening ceremony of the exhibition. 8) The five members of the Jury are representatives of: Insubria University (the Rector or his delegate), 2 artists and 2 expert collectors from the A.I.E. 9) The Ex Libris must be sent by Registered Letter, by 12.00 noon on 31th July, 2008, to the following address: Università degli Studi dell Insubria Segreteria Comitato Decennale Via Ravasi 2 21100 Varese (VA) Italy 10) The authors of entries that will be published will receive a complimentary copy of the catalogue. 11) Participation in the Competition implies full acceptance of the above rules.
