Installazione di ATOMIC esterno 0. Requisiti del PC CPU 286 o superiore 3 MB liberi sul disco rigido (100MB con Banca Dati Immagini) RAM TOTALE 1MB o superiore RAM BASE libera: 620KB o superiore SVGA 512Kb o superiore, VESA compatible Porta seriale COM1/2 per connettere ATOMIC Porta Parallela LPT con stampante Stampante compatibile EPSON 1. Collegamento di ATOMIC al computer 1. Assicurarsi che il computer sia spento. 2. Assicurarsi che ATOMIC sia spento. 3. Localizzare una porta seriale libera (COM1 o COM2) sul retro del computer (qualora non si conosca bene la disposizione delle porte seriali, si consiglia di fare riferimento al manuale del computer). 4. Collegare il connettore femmina del cavo seriale in dotazione alla porta seriale del computer. Se il connettore della porta seriale è del tipo a 25 pin, inserire l'adattatore (da 25 pin a 9 pin) in dotazione. 5. Collegare il connettore maschio del cavo seriale in dotazione nel corrispondente connettore femmina sul retro di ATOMIC. 6. Alimentare ATOMIC utilizzando l'alimentatore da muro in dotazione. 7. Collegare i sensori come indicato dal manuale dell'assetto ruote. 8. Accendere il computer. 9. Accendere ATOMIC. 1
2A. Installazione del software ATOMIC in Windows 95/98 a) Installazione da floppy disk 1. Inserire il dischetto Hard Disk Install 1 nell'unità dischetti da 3"½ (1.44 Mb). 2. Fare click su Avvio e selezionare Esegui... 3. Digitare A:(o B:)\INSTALL C: e premere Invio. 4. Attendere il completamento dell'installazione fin quando non appare il messaggio: Remove floppy disk and press any key. b) Installazione da CD ROM 1. Inserire il CD ROM Fasep nel drive; 2. Fare click su Start e selezionare Esegui; 3. Fare click su Sfoglia; 4. Fare click su Cerca in e selezionare Fasep (D:); 5. Fare doppio click sulla directory corrispondente alla versione di programma che ci interessa installare; 6. Fare doppio click sulla directory Disk1; 7. Selezionare Install e fare click su Apri; 8. Aggiungere, alla riga di comando visualizzata, uno spazio e C: (...Install.exe c:); 9. Fare click su Ok e attendere la fine dell installazione. Nel caso che si stia installando una 8.x, a un certo punto la procedura si interromperà per chiedere l inserimento del secondo disco; bisogna cancellare 1\ con il tasto BACKSPACE e scrivere 2 al suo posto, poi premere ENTER. Attendere la fine dell installazione; 2B. Installazione del software ATOMIC in MS-DOS a) Installazione da floppy disk 1. Inserire il dischetto Hard Disk Install1 nell'unità dischetti da 3"½ (1.44 Mb). 2. Digitare A:(o B:)\INSTALL C: e premere Invio. 3. Attendere il completamento dell'installazione fin quando non appare il messaggio: Remove floppy disk and press any key to reset the computer. b) Installazione da CD ROM 1. Inserire il CD ROM Fasep nel drive; 2. Digitare D: e premere Enter; 3. Digitare il comando DIR e premere Enter. Apparirà la lista delle directory; 4. Digitare CD VDE_xx (dove xx sono i due numeri della directory che contiene la versione più recente del programma) e premere Enter; 5. Digitare CD DISK1 e premere Enter; 6. Digitare INSTALL C: e premere Enter; 7. Attendere la fine dell installazione. Nel caso che si stia installando una versione 8.x, a un certo punto la procedura si interromperà per chiedere l inserimento del secondo disco; bisogna cancellare 1\ con il tasto BACKSPACE e scrivere 2 al suo posto, poi premere ENTER. Premere un tasto per terminare l installazione e riavviare automaticamente il computer; 8. Attendere la partenza del programma VDE. Se non è stato ancora installato l hardware di ATOMIC, il programma si fermerà quando non troverà la scheda interfaccia: premere Esc per tornare al DOS; 9. Rimuovere il disco dall unità CD ROM; 2
3A. Avvio di ATOMIC in Windows 95/98 1. Accendere ATOMIC. 2. Fare doppio Clic sull'icona Atomic posizionata sullo schermo: 3B. Avvio di ATOMIC in MS-DOS 1. Accendere ATOMIC. 2. Digitare CD \FASEP\VDE e premere Invio. 3. Digitare VDE e premere Invio. 4. Attivazione della Banca Dati Soltanto al primo avvio del programma ATOMIC è necessario attivare la banca dati eseguendo la seguente procedura: 1. Avviare il programma ATOMIC. 2. Dal MENU PRINCIPALE selezionare UTILITY. 3. Selezionare INSTALLAZIONE APPLICAZIONI. 4. Selezionare INSTALLAZIONE BANCA DATI. 5. Selezionare INTEGRAZIONE BANCA DATI CORRENTE. 6. Alla richiesta di conferma per procedere all'attivazione, premere Invio per confermare. 7. Attendere che vengano completate le operazioni di attivazione sui files della banca dati, dopodiché apparirà il messaggio "INSTALLAZIONE TERMINATA, PREMERE ESC PER RIAVVIARE IL COMPUTER", premere Esc ed attendere il riavvio del computer (in Windows 9x la finestra si chiuderà automaticamente). 8. Riavviare il programma ATOMIC per iniziare a lavorare. 5. Uscita dal software ATOMIC 1. Posizionarsi in pagina MENU PRINCIPALE e premere F3 oalt+x. 6. Nota tecnica 1. Se la memoria convenzionale libera non è sufficiente, occorre inserire le seguenti linee nel file C:\CONFIG.SYS: DOS=HIGH,UMB DEVICEHIGH=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS DEVICEHIGH=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS 2. Se, dopo aver eseguito correttamente le precedenti istruzioni, dovesse apparire il messaggio FASEP BOARD FAILED OR NOT PRESENT eseguire i seguenti controlli: 2a. Controllare, facendo riferimento al manuale del computer, che il connettore a 25 o a 9 poli al quale abbiamo connesso l'atomic sia effettivamente una porta seriale. 2b. Controllare, facendo riferimento al manuale del computer, che la porta seriale alla quale abbiamo connesso l'atomic sia una COM1 o una COM2 (altre seriali, ad esempio COM3 o COM4 non vanno bene). 2c. Provare a scambiare, all'interno del cavetto di collegamento seriale fornito da con il kit, i pins 2 e 3 SOLAMENTE SU UNO DEI DUE CONNETTORI DEL CAVO. 3
External ATOMIC Installation 0. Connecting ATOMIC to computer 1. Turn off your computer. 2. Turn off your ATOMIC. 3. Find a free serial port (COM1 or COM2) on computer rear side (if you do not know the serial port position, check the computer user's manual) 4. Connect the female connector on serial cable to computer serial port. If the connector of the computer serial port is of 25 pin type, use an adapter (from 25 to 9 pin). 5. Connect the male connector on serial cable to corresponding female connector on ATOMIC rear panel. 6. Connect the wall cube power supply to power connector on ATOMIC rear panel. 7. Connect the sensor as showed in the alignment user's manual. 8. Turn your computer on. 9. Turn ATOMIC on. 4
2A. ATOMIC software installation on Windows 95/98 a) Installation by floppy disk 1. Install the Hard Disk Install 1 diskette into the 3"½ driver (1.44 Mb). 2. Select START and Run... 3. Press A:(or B:)\INSTALL C: and press Start. 4. Wait until appear the following message: Remove floppy disk and press any key. b) Installation by CD ROM 1. Insert the Fasep CD ROM into the drive; 2. Click on Start and select Run...; 3. Click on Browse; 4. Click on Search on and select Fasep (D:); 5. Double click on the directory corresponding to the program version that you want to install; 6. Double click on the directory Disk1; 7. Select Install and click on Open; 8. Add, at the visualized command line, a space and C: (...Install.exe c:); 9. Click on Ok and wait for the end of installation. In case of installation of a 8.x version, the procedure will interrupt to ask you to insert the second disk; you must cancel 1\ using BACKSPACE and write 2 instead, then press ENTER. 3A. Starting ATOMIC program on Windows 95/98 1. Turn on ATOMIC. 2. Double click on Atomic icon on the screen: 3B. Starting ATOMIC program on MS-DOS 1. Turn on ATOMIC. 2. Type CD \FASEP\VDE and push Enter. 3. Type VDE and push Enter. 4. Databank Activation Only when starting ATOMIC for the first time, you may need to activate the databank with the following procedure: 1. Run ATOMIC program. 1. Select UTILITY from MAIN MENU. 2. Select INSTALL APPLICATION. 3. Select INSTALL/UPDATE DATA BANK. 4. Select UPDATE CURRENT DATA BANK 5. Press <ENTER> to confirm. 6. Wait for the installation until the following message appears on the screen: "INSTALLATION TERMINATED, PRESS ESC TO RESTART THE COMPUTER", push <ESC> and wait for the computer starts again (in Windows 9x the window will be automatically closed). 7. Start again ATOMIC program to start to work. 5. Exit from ATOMIC program 1. Enter in MAIN MENU and push Alt+X. 6. Technical note 1. Insert the following lines into file C:\CONFIG.SYS if there is not sufficient free conventional memory: DOS=HIGH,UMB DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE RAM 2. If, after correctly perform the preceding instructions, appears the message FASEP BOARD FAILED OR NOT PRESENT execute following checks: 2a. Check, referring to computer instructions, that the 25 pins or 9 pins connector where ATOMIC is connected, is indeed a serial port. 2b. Check, referring to computer instructions, that serial port where ATOMIC is connected is a COM1 or COM2 (others serials, for example COM3 or COM4 are no good). 2c. Try to interchange, into serial cable supplied with the kit, the pins 2 and 3 ONLY ON ONE OF TWO CONNECTORS OF CABLE. 6
