xiv congresso MONDIALE ROMA 28 settembre 2 ottobre 2014 The Italian Chapter of AIDA has the pleasure to invite and welcome you at the XIV World Congress of AIDA (Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances) that will be held in Rome from September 28, 2014 to October 2, 2014. I would like to thank AIDA for the decision to entrust again the Italian Chapter of the organization of a World Congress. A return to the origin of our association: the very first World Congress was held in Rome in the spring of 1962, strongly supported and inspired by Antigono Donati, president and founder of the Italian Chapter organizing the event. The participants included eminent representatives of legal science and insurance world. Long time has passed: AIDA, in these fifty-two years, lead us around the world with prestigious international congresses and countless initiatives, developing, strengthening and building stronger and enduring relationships among national chapters, members, insurance law scholars, professionals and insurance companies. Rome sends its greetings and welcomes back AIDA and the old and new friends joining us. On behalf of the Italian Chapter I would also like to express my earnest gratitude [to the President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano for having granted its patronage to our initiative]. I also thank the European University of Rome that will host the congress in their beautiful premises in Via degli Aldobrandeschi and each of the sponsors that are generously supporting the organization of the event. Sincere gratitude goes to all members of the Presidential Council and of the Scientific Committee, to the speakers and rapporteurs and to everybody who made this congress possible with their valuable contribution. Finally a very special greeting to each participant: we will be honoured to host the participants and those accompanying them, coming from all over the world and sharing their experience, knowledge, ideas and horizons in productive and exciting sessions. The congress will be hosted at a campus located in a beautiful park, a few steps from the Basilica of Saint Peter and well connected to the city centre. The organization of the congress will ensure that the work will be entertained by the traditional gala dinner, by cultural events and opportunities to socialize and discover the natural and artistic beauties of our Country. Un ritorno alle origini per la nostra associazione: il primo Congresso mondiale si tenne infatti a Roma nella primavera del 1962, fortemente voluto e ispirato da Antigono Donati, nella sua qualità di Presidente e fondatore della Sezione Italiana organizzatrice dell evento. Fra i partecipanti figuravano i massimi esponenti della scienza giuridica mondiale e del mondo assicurativo. Molto tempo è trascorso: in questi cinquantadue anni AIDA, con prestigiosi congressi mondiali e innumerevoli iniziative, ci ha accompagnato nel mondo, crescendo, rafforzandosi e creando legami sempre più solidi e duraturi tra le sezioni nazionali, gli associati, gli studiosi del diritto delle assicurazioni, i professionisti, le compagnie di assicurazione. Roma porge il suo saluto di bentornato ad AIDA e ai vecchi e nuovi amici che la accompagnano. A nome della Sezione Italiana desidero poi esprimere la più sentita gratitudine [al Presidente della Repubblica Giorgio Napolitano per aver concesso il proprio patronato alla nostra iniziativa].
