1. REGOLE 1.1 Si applicheranno le regole così come definite nel Bando di Regata. Se vi è conflitto tra le lingue prevarrà il testo italiano. 2. COMUNICATI PER I CONCORRENTI 2.1 Eventuali modifiche alle Istruzioni di Regata ed altri comunicati per i concorrenti saranno esposti entro le ore 21.00 del giorno precedente la regata all Albo Ufficiale dei Comunicati, sito nella sede del Circolo Organizzatore. È responsabilità degli stessi prenderne visione. Al fine di facilitare i concorrenti i comunicati potranno anche venire diffusi via Internet, la mancanza o l eventuale non corretta diffusione degli stessi, non potrà dar luogo a richiesta di riparazione. Ciò modifica la regola 60.1(b) del Regolamento di Regata (di seguito RRS). 2.2 Il canale radio VHF ufficiale della regata è lo 09. 2.3 A partire dalle ore 08.40 del giorno della regata tutti i concorrenti dovranno obbligatoriamente essere sintonizzati sul canale VHF 09 o in alternativa su una delle frequenze di cui al punto 2.04. 2.4 A partire dalle ore 09.00 del giorno della regata ulteriori comunicazioni ufficiali ed informazioni ai concorrenti potranno essere ripetute dalle emittenti radiofoniche che seguono la regata: Radio Punto Zero, sulle frequenze FM/ MHz 101.100, 101.300, 101.500 e 101.000, e Radioattività News e Radioattività Sport a reti unificate sulle frequenze FM/MHz 97.5, 97.9 e 97.0 e 98.3. L eventuale mal funzionamento nelle comunicazioni radio non potrà dar luogo a richiesta di riparazione; ciò modifica la regola 60.1(b) del RRS. 3. SEGNALI A TERRA 3.1 Questi segnali potranno essere alzati all albero dei segnali posto presso la sede del Circolo Organizzatore: Intelligenza: la regata è differita. Il segnale di avviso sarà esposto non prima di 30 minuti dall ammainata dell Intelligenza. Questo modifica i segnali di regata del RRS. Lettera L del C.I.: è stato esposto un comunicato all Albo Ufficiale. Lettera N del C.I.: la regata non sarà effettuata nella giornata odierna. Lettera N più bandiera di categoria: sono escluse dalla partenza le imbarcazioni della categoria indicata e quelle di categorie inferiori. Questo modifica i segnali di regata del RRS. 3.2 Bandiere di categoria: Bandiera GIALLA: Passere Bandiera del colore della categoria di appartenenza con il numero/lettera di categoria in cifre arabe per le restanti categorie come di seguito elencato : MY per Megayacht, SM per Super Maxi, M per Maxi, T per Meteor, J70 per i J70, 0 per categoria Zero, 1 per la prima categoria, 2 per la seconda, 3 per la terza, 4 per la quarta, 5 per la quinta, 6 per la sesta 7 per la settima, 8 per la ottava, 9 per la nona. 4. PROGRAMMA DELLA REGATA 4.1 La regata sarà disputata su una prova. 4.2 Briefing con i concorrenti: sabato precedente la regata alle ore 18:00 presso il Salone degli Incanti. 4.3 Partenza della prova: domenica 08 ottobre 2017 alle ore 10.30. 5 PERCORSO E AREA DI REGATA 5.1 Il percorso sarà a vertici fissi nel Golfo di Trieste come descritto di seguito e come da grafico A : P - BOA 1 - BOA 2 - BOA 3 - BOA 4 - A 5.2 Percorso approssimato: DISTANZA ROTTA Da Boa P a Boa 1 4.3 nm 210 Da Boa 1 a Boa 2 0,9 nm 332 Da Boa 2 a Boa 3 / 3 BIS 4 nm 20 Da Boa 3 / 3 BIS a Boa 4 2,3 nm 125 Da Boa 4 a Boa A 1,5 nm 160 5.3 Coordinate delle Boe: Boa P 45 40 550N 013 44 600E Boa P1 45 41 600N 013 42 600E Boa 1 45 37 400N 013 40 600E Boa 2 45 38 200N 013 40 000E Boa 3 45 41 900N 013 41 900E Boa 3 Bis 45 41 980N 013 41 610E Boa 4 45 40 550N 013 44 600E Boa A 45 39 200N 013 45 400E 5.4 Le boe di percorso dovranno essere lasciate a dritta tranne la boa di partenza P e la boa d arrivo A, che andranno lasciate a sinistra. 5.5 Nei pressi della diga vecchia è presente una zona pericolosa per la bassa profondità; tale zona sarà segnalata da boe arancioni e gialle. L area delineata dalle boe e dalle estremità della diga è interdetta alla navigazione e deve essere considerata ostacolo continuo a cui si applica la Regola 19.2 (c) del Regolamento di Regata in vigore. Resta comunque responsabilità del concorrente verificare la profondità in relazione al proprio pescaggio; l errato posizionamento di tali boe non potrà essere oggetto di una richiesta di riparazione (ciò modifica la regola 60.1(b) del RRS). 5.6 Le coordinate delle boe e le relative posizioni sono meramente indicative; una posizione diversa non potrà essere oggetto di una richiesta di riparazione (ciò modifica la regola 60.1(b) del RRS). 5.7 Dopo l arrivo le imbarcazioni dovranno liberare l area il prima possibile come indicato nel grafico C, seguendo le eventuali indicazioni dei mezzi ufficiali presenti in loco.
Una violazione a tale regola non potrà essere oggetto di protesta da parte di una barca (ciò modifica la regola 60.1(a) del RRS) 6. BOE 6.1 Le boe di partenza P P1, le boe di percorso 1, 2, 3, 4 saranno piramidali di colore rosso con scritta pubblicitaria. Le boe di arrivo A A1 saranno di forma piramidale di colore arancione. La boa 3BIS sarà cilindrica di colore arancione. 7. BATTELLI DEL COMITATO DI REGATA 7.1 I battelli del C.d.R. alzeranno una bandiera bianca con scritta CR. Il battello del C.d.R. quando ancorato in prossimità dell arrivo alzerà anche una bandiera BLU. 8. LINEA DI PARTENZA 8.1 Sarà costituita dalla congiungente la boa P1 da lasciare a dritta, ancorata in prossimità del battello del C.d.R. 2, e la boa P da lasciare a sinistra, ancorata in prossimità del battello C.d.R. 1 nei pressi del terrapieno di Barcola, come da grafico B. 8.2 Lungo la linea di partenza saranno posti galleggianti di colore giallo o arancio. Questi ultimi non costituiscono boe di percorso né di allineamento e non avranno alcun valore ai fini della regata stessa, tranne il facilitare i concorrenti a capire la propria posizione: i concorrenti che si troveranno tra l allineamento costituito dalle boe gialle (o arancio) e la costa possono considerarsi sul lato di pre-partenza della linea. 9. SEGNALI DI PARTENZA 9.1 Saranno eseguite le seguenti operazioni per segnalare la partenza: OPERAZIONE RAZZO TEMPO Esposizione Lettera E bianco 10 Esposizione Lettera I bianco 5 Ammainata lettera I nessuno 1 Ammainata Lettere E verde 0 9.2 Ogni segnale sarà possibilmente accompagnato da un segnale acustico. 9.3 Tutti i segnali saranno esposti dal battello C.d.R. 1, in prossimità del terrapieno di Barcola. Gli stessi saranno possibilmente trasmessi via radio dal canale VHF sul canale di cui al punto 02.2. La mancanza o l eventuale non corretta diffusione della comunicazione, non potrà dar luogo a richiesta di riparazione. Ciò modifica la regola 60.1(b) del RRS. In caso di discrepanza tra i segnali sul C.d.R. 1 ed i razzi, agli effetti del tempo e del valore dei segnali, faranno sempre fede quelli effettuati con le bandiere dal C.d.R. 1. 9.4 Sarà in vigore la regola 30.1 RRS Se è stata esposta la bandiera I, e qualsiasi parte dello scafo, equipaggio o attrezzatura di una barca si trova nel lato di percorso della linea di partenza o dei suoi prolungamenti durante l ultimo minuto prima del suo segnale di partenza, essa dovrà successivamente navigare dal lato di percorso al lato di pre-partenza attraverso un prolungamento della linea, prima di partire. 9.5 Una barca che parta più di 30 minuti dopo il proprio segnale di partenza sarà classificata Non Partita DNS senza udienza. Ciò modifica la regola A4 del RRS. 9.6 Il Comitato di Regata avrà anche in mare la facoltà di vietare la partenza di qualsiasi categoria come indicato al punto 03.1 (N più bandiera di categoria). Ciò modifica i segnali di regata del RRS. 10. RICHIAMI 10.1 Come previsto dalla regola 29 del RRS. 11. LINEA DI ARRIVO 11.1 Sarà posta nei pressi della diga Vecchia. Sarà costituita dalla congiungente la boa A da lasciare a sinistra e l asta con bandiera arancione posta sul battello del C.d.R. da lasciare a destra. In prossimità del battello del C.d.R. sarà posizionata la boa A1 da lasciare a destra come da grafico C. Le barche che infrangeranno la RRS 28 non lasciando la boa A1 dal lato prescritto saranno squalificate senza udienza. Ciò modifica RRS 63.1 e RRS Appendice A5. 11.2 Le imbarcazioni che sono passate tra la boa 3 e la boa 3BIS e che non hanno tagliato la linea di arrivo di Trieste entro il tempo limite, saranno comunque poste in classifica, basandosi sull ordine di passaggio tra le boe 3 e 3BIS, in coda all ultimo arrivato alla linea di arrivo. Questo modifica la regola 35 e A.4 RRS 12. RIDUZIONE DEL PERCORSO 12.1 Il percorso potrà essere ridotto a qualsiasi boa di percorso a discrezione del C.d.R. in conformità alla Regola 32 del RRS. 12.2 In caso di riduzione del percorso la linea di arrivo sarà tra una boa di percorso e l asta con la bandiera S posta su di un battello Comitato oppure tra le boe 3 e 3BIS. 13. TEMPO LIMITE 13.1 Il tempo limite è fissato alle ore 18.00 per tutte le imbarcazioni e categorie. Le imbarcazioni che arriveranno dopo la scadenza del tempo limite saranno classificate DNF senza udienza, salvo quando descritto al punto 11.2 di queste IdR; ciò modifica le regole 35, A4 e A5 del RRS.
14. PROTESTE E RICHIESTE DI RIPARAZIONE 14.1 Le proteste dovranno essere consegnate alla Segreteria della Regata oppure tramite email all indirizzo regate@svbg.it e dovranno essere conformi a quanto prescritto dal Regolamento di Regata in vigore, punti 60.1 e 61 pena la loro inammissibilità. 14.2 Il tempo limite per la presentazione delle proteste è fissato alle ore 19.00 del giorno della regata. Entro quindici minuti dalla scadenza del tempo per le proteste, la Giuria esporrà all Albo Ufficiale dei comunicati nella sede SVBG data ed ora delle convocazioni delle udienze. La discussione delle proteste avverrà subito dopo e proseguirà nei giorni successivi secondo il programma predisposto dalla Giuria Internazionale. 14.3 Al fine di facilitare i concorrenti, l avviso e calendario delle udienze verrà anche diffuso, se possibile, via Internet sul sito dell evento, posta elettronica, telefono o WhatsApp. La mancanza e l eventuale non corretta diffusione dell avviso e del calendario delle udienze diversa dall esposizione all Albo dei Comunicati, non potrà dar luogo a richiesta di riparazione. Ciò modifica la regola 60.1(b) del RRS. È responsabilità dei concorrenti prendere visione del calendario delle udienze. 14.4 Le decisioni della Giuria Internazionale saranno inappellabili come previsto dalla regola 70.5. 14.5 A parziale modifica della regola 61 del RRS, non è richiesta l esposizione della bandiera rossa per manifestare la propria intenzione di protestare. 14.6 La tassa per la protesta è fissata in Euro 30,00 per protesta e per ogni barca protestata, e non è rimborsabile. Qualora la protesta sia inviata tramite email il pagamento della tassa di iscrizione dovrà avvenire tramite bonifico, la cui conferma dovrà essere trasmessa all indirizzo email indicato al punto 14.1. 14.7 Le richieste di riparazione per il mancato e/o errato inserimento in classifica dovranno essere presentate accompagnate dalla dichiarazione d osservanza entro le ore 12.00 del lunedì successivo alla regata e saranno accettate anche a mezzo fax o e-mail. Ciò modifica la regola 62.2 del RRS. 14.8 Le richieste di riparazione relative a OCS dovranno essere presentate entro il tempo limite per le proteste. Ciò modifica la regola 62.2 del RRS. 14.9 Una richiesta di riparazione basata su una decisione della Giuria Internazionale dovrà essere presentata entro 30 minuti dall esposizione della decisione. Questo modifica la regola 62.2 del RRS. 14.10 Eventuali richieste di riapertura delle udienze dovranno essere presentate entro mezz ora dalla comunicazione della decisione alla parte richiedente la riapertura. Questo modifica la regola 66 del RRS. 14.11 Il Comitato di Regata nelle due settimane successive la manifestazione visionerà i filmati e le fotografie a disposizione per verificare l eventuale violazione delle norme che nel bando di regata prevedono la squalifica senza udienza (es: utilizzo di vele non ammesse in classe crociera, infrazioni alle prescrizioni relative alle caratteristiche strutturali, ancore o motori in posizione errata, compimento del percorso, ecc); per violazioni a tali regole il tempo limite è esteso di quindici giorni, e non saranno ammesse richieste di riparazione per queste squalifiche (ciò modifica la regola 60.1(b) del RRS). 14.12 Le proteste potranno essere ascoltate come da RRS N1.4(b). Il tempo limite per richiedere un udienza con un pannello completo della Giuria Internazionale è di 15 minuti dal momento in cui le parti sono state informate della decisione presa dal pannello. 14.13 Le parti potranno partecipare alle udienze anche in videoconferenza utilizzando Skype o Hangout, anche se si raccomanda la presenza fisica. In tal caso, le parti dovranno essere in grado di utilizzare autonomamente lo strumento di videoconferenza indicato dalla Giuria. 15. PUNTEGGIO 15.1 Le classifiche overall e per categorie e classi saranno redatte in tempo reale. 16. VERIFICA ATTREZZATURE E CONTROLLI DI STAZZA 16.1 Una barca o la sua attrezzatura potranno essere controllate in qualsiasi momento, prima o dopo la regata, per accertarne la rispondenza alle regole di classe, al bando ed alle istruzioni di regata. In acqua una barca può ricevere dal comitato tecnico l ordine di recarsi immediatamente in un area designata adibita alle ispezioni. 17. PUBBLICITÀ 17.1 Lo spazio da riservare all adesivo con il numero di gara e la pubblicità dell Organizzazione deve essere del 25% della LFT su entrambi i lati dello scafo, partendo dall estrema prora. 18. NUMERO VELICO, NUMERO DI GARA E BANDIERA DI RICONOSCIMENTO 18.1 Le imbarcazioni dovranno esporre il numero velico dichiarato sul modulo di iscrizione su ambedue i lati della randa. 18.2 All atto dell iscrizione saranno consegnati ai concorrenti due adesivi con il numero di gara che dovranno obbligatoriamente essere applicati sullo scafo (integri del marchio dello sponsor), e precisamente uno sul mascone di dritta ed uno sul mascone di sinistra, quanto più possibile verso prua. Le imbarcazioni che all arrivo fossero prive del numero velico di cui al punto 18.01 o del numero
di gara di cui al presente punto 18.02, e non provvedessero a farsi riconoscere dai battelli del C.d.R., saranno considerate non arrivate; ciò modifica le regole 35, A4 e A5 del RRS. All atto dell iscrizione sarà consegnata ai concorrenti una bandiera di riconoscimento della categoria da fissare obbligatoriamente allo strallo di poppa almeno a metri 1.50 sopra la linea di coperta. A modifica di RRS 60.1 una infrazione a questa regola non potrà essere oggetto di protesta da parte di una barca ed inoltre sarà sanzionabile come da Bando di Regata 1.18 19. DICHIARAZIONE DI ARRIVO 19.1 Ogni concorrente potrà presentare in segreteria di regata la dichiarazione redatta sull apposito modulo stampato alla fine delle presenti Istruzioni, annotando l ora (ora/ minuti) ed il numero velico e/o il numero di gara e/o il nome e/o il numero d immatricolazione dello yacht che lo precede e di quello che lo segue al passaggio tra le boe 3 e 3BIS ed al proprio arrivo. La dichiarazione di osservanza può essere inviata (per fax al numero +39 040 413838 o per posta elettronica all indirizzo regate@svbg.it) oppure consegnata direttamente alla Segreteria della Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano, entro le 12.00 del lunedi successivo alla regata. Il mancato invio o consegna della Dichiarazione di Osservanza può portare alla non inclusione in classifica. Tale dichiarazione potrà essere richiesta dal CdR ai fini della classifica finale. 20. RITIRO DALLA REGATA 20.1 Le imbarcazioni regolarmente iscritte che non effettuassero la partenza o quelle partite che decidessero di ritirarsi, sono tenute a darne immediata comunicazione al Comitato di Regata telefonando al +39 345 4725433. 20.2 La Giuria si riserva di considerare il mancato rispetto di tale norma come base per iniziare una procedura disciplinare in base alla regola 69 del RRS Imputazione di comportamento gravemente sconveniente. 21. MEZZI SALVAGENTE E DI GALLEGGIAMENTO PERSONALE 22.1 Le barche e i mezzi ufficiali saranno identificate con bandiere numerate e consegnate dal Comitato Organizzatore. 23. COMUNICAZIONI RADIO 23.1 Tranne che in situazioni di emergenza, una barca, quando è in regata, non dovrà né fare trasmissioni radio, né ricevere radio comunicazioni non accessibili a tutte le altre barche. Questa restrizione si applica anche ai telefoni cellulari. Una violazione a tale regola non potrà essere oggetto di protesta da parte di una barca (ciò modifica la regola 60.1(a) del RRS) 24. PREMI 24.1 Come da Bando di Regata 25. SCARICO RESPONSABILITÀ 25.1 I concorrenti prendono parte alla prova a loro rischio (vedi la regola 4 RRS, decisione di partecipare alla prova). L autorità organizzatrice non assume alcuna responsabilità per danni materiali, infortuni alle persone o morte subiti in conseguenza della regata, prima, durante o dopo di essa. 26. ASSICURAZIONE 26.1 Ogni barca concorrente dovrà essere coperta da una valida assicurazione per responsabilità verso terzi, con una copertura minima di Euro 1.500.000,00 per incidente od equivalente. 27. PREMIAZIONI 27.1 La premiazione avrà luogo a Trieste alle ore 10.00 di domenica di 26 novembre 2017. Il Comitato di Regata 21.1 Regola 1.2 RRS. Una barca deve portare adeguate apparecchiature salvagente per tutte le persone a bordo, incluso un mezzo pronto all impiego immediato. Spetta ad ogni concorrente la responsabilità personale di indossare un mezzo di galleggiamento individuale adatto alle circostanze. 21.2 Tutti i componenti degli equipaggi di età inferiore ai 18 anni dovranno indossare il giubbotto salvagente per l intera durata della regata, e questa disposizione non potrà essere oggetto di protesta da barca a barca. Ciò modifica le regole 40 e 60.1 del RRS. 22. BARCHE UFFICIALI E BARCHE APPOGGIO
eng 1. RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Notice of Race. If there is a conflict between languages the Italian text will take precedence. Zero Yachts, 1 for the first category, 2 for the second one, 3 for the third one, 4 for the fourth one, 5 for the fifth one, 6 for the sixth one, 7 for the seventh one, 8 for the eighth one, and 9 for the ninth one. 2. NOTICES TO COMPETITORS 2.1 Any changes to the Sailing Instructions and other notices to competitors will be posted before 9 p.m. on October 7 th on the Official Notice Board located at the yacht club Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano. Each competitor shall be responsible for checking the up-mentioned Official Notice Board. In order to help competitors, notices may also be posted on Internet; however, failing to publish or the incorrect publication of such notices will not be grounds for a request for redress. This changes RRS 60.1(b). 2.2 The official radio channel for the race is VHF 09. 2.3 From 8:40 a.m. on October 8 th all competitors must be tuned in and listening to VHF channel 09 or, as an alternative, to any of the radio stations listed in point 2.04. 2.4 From 09:00 a.m. on October 8 th, further Official Notices and other important information to competitors may also be repeated on the official radio stations following the race: Radio Punto Zero on frequencies FM/MHz 101.100, 101.300, 101.500 and 101.000 and Radioattività News / Radioattività Sport with simultaneous transmissions on frequencies FM/MHz 97.5, 97.9, 97.0 and 98.3. Any failure in these radio communications shall not be grounds for redress; this changes RRS 60.1(b). 3. SIGNALS MADE ASHORE 3.1 These signals may be displayed at the signal mast placed at the yacht club Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano. AP : the race is postponed. The warning signal will be displayed at least 30 minutes after the AP has been removed. This changes the RRS race signals. Flag L : a notice has been posted on the Official Notice Board. Flag N : the race will not take place on this day. Flag N and category flag: boats belonging to the category flag displayed or to lower categories are excluded from racing. This changes the RRS race signals. 3.2 Category flags: YELLOW flag: Passere Flag with the category color and number/letter for the remaining categories as follows: MY for Mega Yachts, SM for Super Maxi, M for Maxi, T for Meteor, J70 for J70s, 0 for category 4. RACE SCHEDULE 4.1 The regatta will consist of a single race. 4.2 Competitors Briefing: Saturday, October 7 th at 6.00 p.m. at Salone degli Incanti. 4.3 The race will start at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday, October 8 th. 5. The area delineated by the marks and by the breakwater extremities is off limits to navigation and shall be considered as a continuous obstruction to which RRS 19.2 (c) applies. However, it is a competitor s responsibility to verify the depth in relation to the boat s draft; the misplacement of the up-mentioned buoys shall not be grounds for requests for redress (this changes RRS 60.1(b)). 5.6 Mark coordinates and their correspondent positions are merely indicative; a different position shall not
be grounds for redress (this changes RRS 60.1(b). 5.7 After crossing the finishing line all boats shall clear the area as soon as possible as indicated in diagram C, following any instructions given by official boats. Any infringement of this Rule cannot be the ground for a protest by a boat (this changes RRS 60.1(a)). 6. MARKS 6.1 Starting marks P P1, course marks 1-2-3-4 will be pyramidal, red-colored and with advertising logos. Finishing marks A A1 will be pyramidal and orangecolored. Gate mark 3 BIS will be cylindrical and orange-colored. 7. RACE COMMITTEE BOATS 7.1 Race Committee boats will display a white flag with CR written on it. Race Committee vessel, when anchored in proximity of the finishing line, will also display a BLUE Flag. 8. STARTING LINE 8.1 The starting line will be between mark P1, to be left to starboard and anchored near Race Committee boat C.d.R. 2, and the red mark P, to be left to port and anchored near the Race Committee boat C.d.R. 1 positioned close to Barcola embankment, as per diagram B. 8.2 Several yellow or orange buoys will be set along the starting line. These buoys are not starting or course marks and will have no relevance to the race except to assist competitors understanding their position: competitors being in between the line of yellow (or orange) marks and the coast should assume that they are on the pre-start side of the starting line. 9. STARTING SIGNAL 9.1 The start of the race will be signaled as follows: FLAG FLARE TIME Code flag E displayed white 10 Code flag I displayed white 5 Code flag I removed none 1 Code flag E removed green 0 9.2 If possible, all signals will be accompanied by a sound signal. 9.3 All signals will be displayed on the Race Committee boat C.d.R. 1, near Barcola embankment. If possible, they will also be transmitted by radio on the VHF channel mentioned in 2.2. Failing to transmit or any erroneous transmission of the signals shall not be grounds for redress. This changes RRS 60.1(b). In case of discrepancies between the signals on the Race Committee boat C.d.R. 1 and the flares, the flag signals shall prevail. 9.4 RRS 30.1 will apply: If flag I has been displayed, and any part of a boat s hull, crew or equipment is on the course side of the starting line or one of its extensions during the last minute before her starting signal, she shall thereafter sail from the course side across an extension to the prestart side before starting. 9.5 A boat that starts more than 30 minutes after its starting signal will be scored as DNS without a hearing. This changes RRS A4. 9.6 The Race Committee can decide to prevent any category from starting even when afloat as provided in 3.1 (N plus category flag). This changes the RRS race signals. 10. RECALLS 10.1 As provided in RRS 29. 11. FINISHING LINE 11.1 The finishing line will be set near the old breakwater Diga Vecchia. The finishing line will be between mark A, to be left to port, and the mast displaying an orange flag on the Race Committee boat C.d.R., to be left to starboard. Mark A1, to be left to starboard, will be positioned close to the Race Committee boat C.d.R. as per diagram C. Any boat infringing RRS 28 by not leaving Mark A1 on the required side will be disqualified without a hearing. This changes RRS 63.1 and RRS Appendix A5. 11.2 All the boats that will cross gate 3 / 3BIS without crossing the finishing line of Trieste within the time limit will be scored in the order they crossed the gate, after the last boat that crossed the finishing line. This changes the RRS 35 and A4. 12. SHORTENING THE COURSE 12.1 The course can be shortened at any course mark at the Race Committee s discretion and in accordance with RRS 32. 12.2 If the course is shortened the finishing line will be between a course mark and the pole displaying the S flag on the Race Committee boat, or between marks when at the gate. 13. TIME LIMIT 13.1 The time limit will be 6.00 p.m. for all boats and categories. Boats failing to finish within the time limit will be scored DNF without a hearing, with the exception of the cases outlined in 11.2 of these Sailing instructions. This changes RRS 35, A4 and A5, with the exception of the cases outlined in 11.2 of these Sailing Instructions. 14. PROTESTS AND REQUESTS
FOR REDRESS 14.1 Protests shall be delivered to the Race Office or sent via email to regate@svbg.it and shall comply with the RRS 60.1 and 61, otherwise they will not be accepted. 14.2 The protest time limit is 7.00 p.m. on October 8 th. Within 15 minutes after the protest time limit, the Jury will post the hearing schedule including hearings dates and times - on the official Notice Board at the yacht club Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano. Hearings will begin immediately and will continue on the following days as scheduled by the International Jury. 14.3 In order to provide further assistance to competitors, if possible, the notice and schedule of hearings will be also posted on Internet on the event website, sent via e-mail, telephone or WhatsApp. Failure to provide such notices or an incorrect communication that differs from the one posted on the Official Notice Board will not be grounds for a request for redress. This changes RRS rule 60.1(b). Each competitor is individually responsible for checking the hearings schedule. 14.4 Decisions of the international Jury will be final as provided by RRS 70.5. 14.5 A boat intending to protest is not required to display the red flag. This changes RRS rule 61. 14.6 The protest fee is 30.00 Euros per protest and per protested boat and cannot be refunded. If the protest is sent via email, the fee must be paid via bank transfer. Payment confirmation must also be sent via email to regate@svbg.it. 14.7 Any request for redress regarding the results shall be delivered, together with the finishing declaration, no later than 12 AM on Monday, October 9 th. The requests can also be sent via fax or e-mail. This changes RRS 62.2. 14.8 Any request for redress related to OCS shall be delivered within the protest time limit. This changes RRS 62.2. 14.9 Any request for redress based on a decision of the International Jury decision shall be delivered no later than 30 minutes after the decision is posted. This changes RRS 62.2. 14.10 Any request for reopening shall be delivered no later than 30 minutes after the requesting party was informed of the decision. This changes RRS 66. 14.11 During the two following weeks after the race the Race Committee will watch the videos and photographs available to verify breaches of any rule for which the Notice of Race allows disqualification without a hearing (e.g.: use of sails not allowed in the cruising class, infringement of regulations on structural elements, anchors or engines positioned incorrectly, sailing the course, etc.); for any infringement of these rules the time limit is extended to fifteen days, and requests for redress for these disqualifications will not be allowed (this changes RRS 60.1(b)). 14.12 Protests will be heard as per RRS N1.4(b). Parties can request a hearing before a panel of the International Jury within 15 minutes after having been informed of the decision taken by the panel. 14.13 The parties are allowed to appear in the hearings also via Skype or Hangout in conference call, although it is preferred that they attend in person. The parties must be able to autonomously use the videocall app indicated by the Jury. 15. SCORING 15.1 The overall, category and class rankings will be in real time. 16. EQUIPMENT AND MEASUREMENT CHECKS 16.1 A boat or its equipment may be inspected at any time, before or after the race, to verify its compliance with the class rules, notice of race and sailing instructions. On the water, a boat can be instructed by a measurer or by a race committee equipment inspector to proceed immediately to a designated area for inspection. 17 ADVERTISING 17.1 On the bow on both sides there shall be an area of at least 25% of the LOA reserved to the Organizing Authority stickers for the bow number and advertisement. 18. SAIL NUMBER, BOW NUMBER AND CATEGORY FLAG 18.1 All boats shall display their sail number stated on the entry form on both sides of their mainsail. 18.2 Upon registration, competitors will receive two stickers with the bow number that shall be placed (including the sponsor s logo) on each side of the hull one on the starboard bow and the other on the port bow - as forward as possible. Any boat finishing without the sail number as in 18.1 or without the bow number as in 18.2, and failing to identify themselves to the Race Committee Boats, will be scored as DNF; this changes RRS 35, A4 and A5. Upon registration, competitors will receive a category flag to be displayed on the back-stay at least 1.50 meters above deck. An infringement to this rule shall not be subject to protest by a boat (this changes RRS 60.1) and shall be punished as per Notice of Race 1.18. 19. FINISHING DECLARATION 19.1 After finishing the race, all competitors can deliver the finishing declaration to the Race Office using the form attached to these sailing instructions, noting down the time (hour/min.), the name and/or the sail number and/ or the race number and/or registration number of the boat
ahead and behind when passing the gate and crossing the finishing line. This form can be sent by fax (+39 040 413838) or email (regate@svbg.it) or delivered to the Race Office in the SVBG yacht club within 12 p.m. of the day after the race. Boats failing to send or deliver the finishing declaration may not be included in the final ranking list. This form can also be requested by the Race Committee for the results. 20. RETIRING FROM THE RACE 20.1 Registered boats that will not start the race or that retire after starting shall inform the Race Committee immediately by calling phone number +39 345 4725433. 20.2 Failing to comply with 20.1 may lead the Jury to initiate a disciplinary procedure as per RRS 69 Allegations of gross misconduct. own risk. See rule RRS 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damages, personal injuries, or death sustained as a consequence of, prior to, during, or after the regatta. 26. INSURANCE 26.1 Each competing boat shall be insured with valid thirdparty liability insurance with a minimum cover of Euros 1.5000.000,00 per incident or equivalent. 27. PRIZE GIVING 27.1 The prize giving ceremony will take place in Trieste at 10.00 a.m. on Sunday, November 26 th. The Race Committee 21. LIFE-SAVING EQUIPMENT AND PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICES 21.1 RRS 1.2: A boat shall carry adequate life-saving equipment for all persons on board, including one item ready for immediate use. Each competitor is individually responsible for wearing a personal flotation device adequate for the conditions. 21.2 All competitors under the age of 18 shall wear a personal flotation device for the entire duration of the race. This rule shall not be subject to protest from boat to boat. This changes RRS rules 40 and 60.1 22. OFFICIAL AND SUPPORT BOATS 22.1 Official boats will be identified with numbered flags provided by the Organizing Committee. 23. RADIO COMMUNICATION 23.1 Except in case of emergency, while racing a boat shall neither make radio transmissions nor receive radio communications that are not accessible to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. Infringement of this Rule cannot be the ground for a protest by a boat. This changes RRS 60.1(a) 24 PRIZES 24.1 As per Notice of Race. 25. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY 25.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their
