2 Introduction Colour Trend Catalogue for the Leather Industry Welcome to TFL s new Colour Trend Catalogue for the season Spring-Summer In this edition, we present the colour trends for leather garments, footwear, accessories and upholstery. We have divided the colour trends into Wearing and Living, devoting a section to each within the publication. Wearing comprises inspirations and colour trends for garments, footwear and accessories. The Living section features all colours that will decorate the season s interior design. Advantages for TFL customers: knowledge of the future colour preferences and trends helps designers, manufacturers and tanners stay one step ahead of the market. In combination with the fashion colour trends TFL provides information about the appropriate dyes and dye application. In the following pages we are happy to spotlight our SELLA FAST A colour range. SELLA FAST A dyes are anionic powder dyes specially selected for the drum dyeing of shoe upper leather. 4 Living Our home interior design for Spring/Summer 2013 is inspired by a modern dimension of style and design into our homes, where a new interpretation of leather emerges, meeting the demands of our daily lives. The new characteristics are techniques especially developed for easy cleaning, resistance and comfort, combining principles of environmental sustainability thanks to the wet-white possibilities. The current trend is defined by lightweight cowhides, soft and supple to the touch, with a more and more prevalent thickness of 1.2 to 1.6. This thickness allows to create both ordinary and extraordinary shapes by offering an intrinsic value to the concept of the memory project. The aesthetic value is attained through unique and precious stones, because stones are natural, like leather. The architecture becomes truly complete by enhancing defined space. Colours, textures and translucent effects of vintage inspired buffalo skins, luxurious lambskin, metallic and mat-finished decorative pillows and home accents, large scale full grain hides (such as elephant, turtle and bison) are coated with a semi-gloss/semi-precious wax finishing. Let us imagine the concept of absolute space, where leather acquires a resemblance of large paintings or tapestry, reminiscing the past, revealing the love for extravagant embellishments and great dimensions.

5 Living L idea scorrevole di aprire la tua casa verso un nuovo orizzonte di stile e un design che sposi le esigenze della vita pratica, sono la base del nostro progetto abitativo per la prossima primavera/estate in cui la pelle necessita di nuove interpretazioni. Le caratteristiche che abbiamo sviluppato sono prioritariamente tecniche: la facilità di mantenimento, perciò progetti antimacchia e anti sporco, la resistenza all uso e il confort, affiancati ai principi di sostenibilità ambientale grazie al progetto wet white. La tendenza viene interpretata attraverso pelli bovine di basso peso specifico, grane arrotondate soffici al tatto come fianchi di cocco o pance di pitone, con uno spessore da 1,2 a 1,6 mm, per consentirci di creare volumi con il valore intrinseco di memoria che i riconcianti naturali possono offrirci. Il look dei nostri materiali fa riferimento al marmo poiché la pietra naturale, come la pelle, completa l arredo arricchendo lo spazio di buon gusto. Colori, venature e trasparenze di grana bufalo con un sottile sapore vintage, lussuosi agnelli metallici opachi per cuscini e coordinati d arredo, grane di grande portata, quali elefante, tartaruga e bisonte con finitura di cera semilucida / semipreziosa. Immaginiamoci pelli stampate di coccodrillo e di tejus tamponate con coloranti ad elevate solidità per ottenere effetti tridimensionali e trasparenti e che assumano le sembianze di grandi quadri o tappeti per un ritorno a chi ama le macro borse decorate.

10 Wearing Numerous trends could be selected based on future developments, ranging from very delicate to luminous, from dynamic to calm. No matter where we live, there will always be a demand all over the world. Considering this, we invite you to reflect on the need for effective and sound innovations combining both stylistic and technological concepts. This need leads us to focus on combining the femininity of pearl-like colors with retanned buffalo leather and lamb nappa, offering a sense of weightlessness, as well as the practical anti-stain finishing. Natural aspects, though classic for every season, have been incorporated into soft suede and nubuck surfaces combining earth tones with three-dimensional prints of small reptiles, dragonfly wings and crocodile, treated with oil-water repellent or washable finishing. The desire for decorating is no longer considered unnatural, but may rather elicit a journey, perhaps to Latin America, rediscovering the genuine taste of nature immersed beneath the Earth s surface, intermingled with flora and fauna. This is seen in a high gloss oil finishing that conveys narrow chromatic effects on large water repellant bags. The characteristics of the water-based chemical product and its metallic-decorative components will create metallic details on both smooth and embossed calf leather rendering a Moorish lace texture, combining classic style with high-tech, contemporary spirit.

Partendo da questo assunto desideriamo farvi riflettere intorno alla necessità di innovare in maniera risolutiva e responsabile per noi stessi così da coniugare i canoni stilistici a quelli tecnologici. Spinti da questa esigenza, ci siamo focalizzati nell abbinare la femminilità perlacea dei colori con riconcie nappate su bufali e vitelli agnellati, che possano offrire quel senso di leggerezza da tutti ricercato,con una protenzione anti macchia. Gli aspetti naturali, ma tradizionali di ogni stagione, sono stati sviscerati su superfici scamosciate e nubuccate amalgamando le tonalità dei cereali alle stampe tridimensionali di piccoli rettili, ali di libellula, fianchi di coccodrillo con performance oleo repellenti o lavabili. L esigenza della decorazione, non è più in essa come qualcosa di posticcio ma evoca un viaggio, magari in America Latina, così da riscoprire il gusto del vegetale nella terracotta mixato con fiori e animali, la rifinizione lucidata all olio ed effetti cromatici di stringimento su borsoni idrorepellenti. Anche l aspetto metallico sarà elaborato su vitelli lisci e stampati grazie all utilizzo di prodotti chimici a base acquosa e la sua componente metallico- decorativa svilupperà texture che rimandano a merletti moreschi, coniugando il classico allo spirito high-tech contemporaneo.

We focus strongly on shoe upper and lower end upholstery leather. We were able to match almost all shades with the SELLA FAST A Range for the last couple of our TFL Colour Trends editions. The SELLA FAST A Range is available from one source in order to streamline the supply chain. We are able to supply full container loads (single dye and mixed) directly to the TFL Legal Units and customers.
