4 La facciata (o parete) ventilata costituisce la soluzione costruttiva ideale per il rivestimento degli edifici, in grado di garantire contemporaneamente elevate performance stilistiche ed un ottimo comfort abitativo. Le lastre di gres porcellanato vengono fissate ad una intelaiatura in lega di alluminio a sua volta ancorata alla struttura portante dell edificio. In questo modo si viene a creare un intercapedine che, con il contributo di uno strato di isolamento applicato al paramento sottostante, aumenta in modo significativo l efficienza termica dell edificio. La sottostruttura in lega di alluminio è generalmente composta da staffe di fissaggio, montanti verticali, traversi orizzontali (in alcuni casi) e sistemi di ancoraggio delle lastre in gres porcellanato. Questo sistema di rivestimento, quindi, permette una notevole riduzione dei consumi energetici degli edifici, divenendo un fattore importante nell ambito di scelte ecologiche e sostenibili. LE FACCIATE VENTILATE CENTURY THE CENTURY VENTILATED FACADES The ventilated facade (or wall) constitutes the constructive solution ideal for the coating of buildings, able to ensure at the same time high stylistic performance and an excellent living comfort. The porcelain stoneware slabs are fixed to an aluminium alloy frame, in turn anchored to the supporting structure of the building. In this way a cavity is created that, with the contribution of a layer of insulation applied to the veneer underlying, significantly increases the thermal efficiency of the building. The aluminium alloy substructure is generally made of fixing brackets, vertical posts, horizontal bars (in some cases) and anchoring systems of porcelain stoneware slabs. This coating system, therefore, enables a significant reduction in energy consumption of the buildings, thus becoming an important factor in the context of sustainable and ecological choices. The coating surface must meet both the requirements of aesthetic and of functional type. Nei periodi caldi, questo sistema di rivestimento consente di ridurre il carico termico sull edificio, grazie alla parziale riflessione della radiazione solare incidente sul rivestimento, alla ventilazione che si sviluppa nell intercapedine ( effetto camino ) e alla presenza dell isolante continuo all esterno della parete. Nei periodi freddi, la facciata ventilata contribuisce a trattenere il calore all interno degli ambienti, grazie alla chiusura delle aperture alla base e alla sommità in modo che lo strato d aria presente all interno dell intercapedine funga da ulteriore isolamento. La possibilità di posare i pannelli isolanti in modo continuo e omogeneo permette l eliminazione dei ponti termici realizzando un corretto isolamento e scongiurando la formazione di condense e muffe. Ne consegue un notevole risparmio energetico, grazie a un minor carico degli impianti di raffrescamento e riscaldamento, e un maggior benessere termoigrometrico. The energy efficiency of the ventilated wall is extensively tested. In the warm periods, this coating system helps reduce the heat load on the building, due to partial reflection of solar radiation incident on the coating, on ventilation that develops in the cavity ( chimney effect ) and presence of the continuous insulation outside of the wall. In cold periods, the ventilated facade helps to retain heat within the environment, thanks to the closure of the openings at the base and at the top so that the air layer present within the cavity acts as additional insulation. The possibility of installing the insulating panels in a continuous and homogeneous manner allows elimination of thermal bridges and making correct insulation and preventing the formation of condensation and mould. This, results in significant energy savings thanks to a lower load to the heating and cooling systems, and a greater thermal comfort. All interno dello spazio vuoto si sviluppa l effetto camino, ovvero un movimento di tipo ascendente del flusso dell aria, attivato dal gradiente termico che si viene a creare tra la temperatura dell aria in ingresso nell intercapedine e la temperatura interna a questa. Tale fenomeno di ventilazione naturale apporta un contributo rilevante in quanto concorre alla rimozione del calore, consente l attenuazione del flusso termico, permette l evacuazione del vapore acqueo proveniente dagli ambienti interni minimizzando i fenomeni di condensa. Per il buon funzionamento del sistema, l intercapedine deve essere opportunamente dimensionata, si devono prevedere delle aperture protette da griglie alla base e alla sommità della facciata ventilata, in modo da evitare l ingresso di corpi estranei che ostacolerebbero il flusso dell aria. The ventilated facade, by virtue of its conformation, enables creation of a cavity between the insulating panel and the coating layer. The chimney effect develops within the void, that is, a movement of the ascending air flow type, activated by the thermal gradient which is created between the inlet air temperature in the cavity and the temperature internal to this. This phenomenon of natural ventilation makes a significant contribution because it removes the heat, allows the attenuation of the thermal flux, and allows evacuation of the water vapour coming from the indoor, minimising condensation phenomena. For the proper functioning of the system, the cavity must be sized appropriately; these openings must be protected by screens at the base and at the top of the ventilated facade to prevent entry of foreign bodies that would obstruct the air flow. Il rivestimento esterno in gres porcellanato Century garantisce una protezione ottimale alle strutture murarie, evitando il degradarsi di queste (distacchi, infiltrazioni ecc.) in seguito all azione degli agenti atmosferici. The cavity of the ventilated wall can possibly accommodate systems and ducting, with the advantage of easy access to them in case of inspection and maintenance without compromising the aesthetic appearance of the structure. AGEVOLAZIONI FISCALI TAX RELIVES In Italia, l installazione di pareti ventilate su edifici esistenti è considerata tra gli interventi di riqualificazione energetica (L. 27 dicembre 2013, n. 147), in grado quindi di conseguire un importante detrazione d imposta sul costo dell intervento. The Century porcelain stoneware is ideal for the construction of ventilated facades. In particular, the Century porcelain stoneware has several advantages, including high resistance to bending and to loads, the lasting stability of the material and the resistance to frost and thermal embossments, with resulting increase of the facade durability. The structure of the ventilated facade allows the coating greater adaptability to thermal embossments and possible movements of the supporting structure of the building, since each single slab is fixed independently to the support and anchors allow a certain degree of movement/elasticity. Exploiting these advantages and paying attention to the correct sizing of the joints, tensions in the coating can be avoided and consequently reduce maintenance interventions. The low water absorption and incombustibility of the Century porcelain stoneware constitute a guarantee for the package behind the coating. Among the other advantages of the Century porcelain stoneware there are: resistance to chemical attack and to stains, colour resistance to sunlight and weather. This allows the coating to maintain over time its appearance and become more modern and current. The reduced weight, the dimensional regularity compared to other materials, such as natural stones, and ease of installation allowing facilitating and speeding up the installation in situ phases, while also allowing an optimisation of costs. 8 I SISTEMI DI FISSAGGIO DELLE FACCIATE VENTILATE THE FIXING SYSTEMS OF THE VENTILATED FACADES Ogni sistema di fissaggio, proposto da Century, è pensato per adattarsi alle diverse esigenze in termini di prestazioni e di budget. I sistemi di fissaggio si dividono principalmente in due tipi: a vista e a scomparsa. Si tratta di sistemi in lega di alluminio, composti da staffe per il fissaggio alla struttura dell edificio, montanti verticali, correnti orizzontali (in alcuni casi) e sistemi di ancoraggio per fissare la piastrella in gres porcellanato agli elementi portanti. Ogni lastra può essere montata e smontata singolarmente garantendo minori tempi e minori costi di manutenzione. Per una maggiore sicurezza Century consiglia l applicazione di una rete sulla parte posteriore della lastra in gres porcellanato. La soluzione ottimale e quindi anche il tipo di sistema di fissaggio saranno selezionati in fase di progettazione della facciata tenendo conto di tutte le caratteristiche dell edificio e in accordo con le richieste del cliente. Every fixing system, proposed by Century, is thought in order to fit different needs in terms of performance and budget. The fixing systems are divided mainly into two types: exposed and concealed. These systems are of aluminium alloy, composed of brackets for fixing to the building structure, vertical posts, horizontal runners (in some cases) and anchoring systems to fix the porcelain stoneware tile to the supporting elements. Each slab can be assembled and disassembled individually ensuring shorter time and lower maintenance costs. For greater security, Century recommends the application of a network on the rear of the porcelain stoneware slab. The optimal solution, and therefore also the type of fixing system will be selected at the design stage of the facade by taking into consideration all the characteristics of the building and in accordance with the customer s requests. I SISTEMI DI FISSAGGIO A VISTA Century propone vari tipi di sistemi di fissaggio a vista con diverse resistenze strutturali. Quattro di questi permettono l installazione della facciata in modo perfettamente verticale e con fughe standard, mentre il quinto dà la possibilità di ottenere un effetto estetico diverso, installando le lastre in assenza di fuga orizzontale e con una leggera inclinazione e sovrapposizione. Ogni struttura è provvista di profili e accessori per il fissaggio che permettono sia regolazioni agevoli in cantiere sia la dilatazione termica o il ritiro dei vari componenti. Tutte le clips, con funzione di ritenuta della lastra di gres porcellanato, possono essere colorate in modo da riprendere lo stesso tono di colore del rivestimento e assicurare comunque una continuità estetica alla parete. Il sistema di fissaggio più idoneo verrà individuato a seconda delle caratteristiche della struttura portante dell edificio e dei carichi cui la parete ventilata dovrà far fronte. THE EXPOSED FIXING SYSTEMS Century offers various types of exposed fixing systems with different structural resistances. Four of these allow the installation of the facade perfectly vertical and with standard tile joints, while the fifth gives the possibility to obtain a different aesthetic effect, by installing the slabs in the absence of a horizontal tile joint and with a slight inclination and overlap. Each structure is equipped with sections and accessories for fixing that allow both easy adjustments on site and thermal expansion or shrinkage of the various components. All clips, acting as restraint of the porcelain stoneware slab, can be coloured in order to take the same colour tone of the coating and anyhow ensure an aesthetic continuity to the wall. The most suitable fixing system will be identified according to the characteristics of the supporting structure of the building and of the loads which the ventilated wall will face. I SISTEMI DI FISSAGGIO A SCOMPARSA Century propone due tipologie di sistemi di fissaggio a scomparsa: la prima si serve di ganci e profili per il fissaggio della lastra alla sottostruttura (tipo A e B) mentre la seconda fa uso di tasselli troncoconici (tipo C e D). I profili e gli accessori di ogni struttura garantiscono sia la dilatazione termica o il ritiro dei vari componenti sia regolazioni agevoli in cantiere. In base alle caratteristiche della struttura portante dell edificio e dei carichi cui la parete ventilata dovrà resistere, sarà individuato il sistema di fissaggio più idoneo. THE CONCEALED FIXING SYSTEMS Century offers two types of concealed fixing systems: the first uses hooks and sections for fixing the slab to the substructure (A and B type) while the second makes use of truncated-cone nogs (C and D type). The sections and accessories of every structure ensure both, thermal expansion or shrinkage of the various components, and easy adjustments on site. The most suitable fixing system will be identified based on the characteristics of the supporting structure of the building and of the loads which the ventilated wall must resist

Questi possono essere fissi o orientabili e presentano il vantaggio di garantire una continuità estetica tra parete e apertura. Per i frangisole di tipo fissi bisogna definire a priori la distanza tra i singoli elementi e la loro inclinazione per poter sia schermare dalla radiazione solare sia permettere il passaggio della luce negli ambienti interni. Per i frangisole di tipo orientabili, l inclinazione può essere regolata in qualunque momento a seconda delle condizioni desiderate, fino alla chiusura completa dell apertura. Il frangisole con rivestimento ceramico, quindi, valorizza l intero immobile sia dal punto di vista estetico, assicurando continuità materica sulla facciata, sia energetico. Vi sono due tipi di placche, a 2 o 4 ganci (o clips). La prima si usa alla base della prima fila di lastre e alla sommità dell ultima fila. La seconda è da posizionare in corrispondenza dell incontro delle lastre. Le clips possono essere colorate riprendendo così il tono della lastra in modo da avere una continuità estetica lungo la facciata. La conformazione della placca impone comunque una fuga orizzontale di circa 8 mm. Le lastre in questo caso non richiedono alcun tipo di lavorazione. External wall Per una maggiore sicurezza, si consiglia di iniettare del silicone strutturale all interno dell incisione praticata sulla lastra, prima di fissare il gancio di sicurezza, anche se la conformazione del gancio è tale da non permettere il distacco dello stesso dalla lastra. Una volta bloccati i ganci di sicurezza sulla lastra, si passa alla spalmatura della colla a letto pieno mediante un idonea spatola dentata sia sulla lastra che sul supporto. Si consiglia di valutare con molta attenzione la scelta del collante in funzione del formato della lastra, tipo di parete e condizioni climatiche. Dopo aver incollato orizzontalmente la prima fila di lastre, si passa al bloccaggio dei ganci sulla parete mediante idoneo tassello ad espansione, valutando attentamente la tipologia di quest ultimo in base alla consistenza e natura della parete. Al fine di non indebolire eccessivamente la zona della parete nel punto di fissaggio, è buona norma non praticare numerosi fori a distanza ravvicinata. La fila successiva di lastre coprirà i ganci di sicurezza delle lastre sottostanti in modo da rendere invisibile il sistema di fissaggio.
