4 SISTEMI PER LUCE D'EMERGENZA ALVIT GAMMA PRODOTTI UNITÀ D EMERGENZA La gamma dei kit per illuminazione d'emergenza Alvit comprende numerosi modelli in grado di soddisfare tutte le esigenze del mercato. SERIE E emergenza per lampade fluorescenti con ballast magnetici tecnologia a 2 poli Emergenza compatta (150x40xh30), adatta all uso con reattori elettromagnetici. Per garantire la massima semplicità di installazione è stata adottata la tecnologia a due poli con cablaggio semplificato a quattro fili. SERIE R emergenza per lampade fluorescenti con ballast magnetici o elettronici tecnologia a 3 poli Emergenza compatta (150x40xh30), abbinabile con tutti i reattori elettronici, elettronici dimmerabili e elettromagnetici. Per garantire la massima compatibilità è stata adottata la tecnologia a tre poli: - due poli riservati per l'accensione della lampada; - il terzo polo (relè ausiliario) destinato a ritardare l'alimentazione del reattore elettronico quando si ripristinano le normali condizioni di rete. Pertanto dopo un funzionamento in emergenza, prima verrà collegata la lampada al reattore e successivamente sarà alimentato. Solo in questo modo è possibile prevenire malfunzionamenti o guasti indotti dai sistemi di protezione dei moderni reattori elettronici. Serie T e Serie C emergenza per lampade fluorescenti con ballast magnetici o elettronici tecnologia a 5 poli Serie T è l'emergenza a basso profilo (230x32xh22) per i nuovi corpi illuminanti, serie C è la versione compatta (150x40xh30) per applicazioni classiche. Compatibili con tutti i reattori elettronici, elettronici dimmerabili e elettromagnetici. Le due serie rispondono alle esigenze specifiche delle lampade T5 lineari e compatte, oltre che TC e T8: - preriscaldo dei catodi (1s); - riscaldo durante il funzionamento in emergenza; - alimentazione in corrente alternata (previene la migrazione del mercurio, causa dell'arrossamento del tubo, nelle lampade ad amalgama e con basse dosi di mercurio); - tecnologia a 5 poli, quattro per l'accensione della lampada, uno (relè ausiliario) destinato a ritardare l'alimentazione del reattore elettronico quando si ripristinano le normali condizioni di rete. Serie L combo alimentatore elettronico con emergenza integrata per lampade LED Con dimensioni compatte, svolge funzioni di alimentatore ed emergenza in un'unica unità. SERIE A emergenza per lampade alogene 12V Emergenza compatta (150x40xh30), compatibile con tutti i trasformatori elettronici e elettromagnetici. SERIE H emergenza per lampade alogene 230V Versione per lampade 230V alogene o incandescenza. Serie ELB box emergenza per lampade fluorescenti e alogene Unità indipendente che incorpora l'inverter e le batterie, compatibile con tutti i reattori elettronici. Isolamento Classe II, protezione IP40. Serie MLB combo box completo per lampade fluorescenti e alogene Unità indipendente che incorpora il ballast per l'illuminazione ordinaria, l'inverter e le batterie per l'illuminazione d'emergenza. Questa soluzione semplifica al massimo le operazioni di cablaggio. Per l'installatore sarà sufficiente connettere le alimentazioni di rete e il cordone lampada. Isolamento Classe II, protezione IP40. SISTEMI DI CONTROLLO Secondo quanto previsto dalle nuove norme UNI11222, è necessario assicurare l ottimale operatività dei dispositivi per illuminazione d emergenza. Il sistema Alvit MAT consente il controllo in automatico, con la possibilità di una gestione a distanza delle informazioni. MAT2 Modulo per sistema di autodiagnosi. Collegabile a tutti i kit predisposti, il modulo MAT2 effettua in modo automatico e autonomo test per autodiagnosi localizzata. Il modulo MAT2 ha in oltre la possibilità di essere collegato alla centrale MATC con un bus a due cavi per ottenere un sistema di autodiagnosi centralizzata. E SERIES emergency for fluorescent lamps with magnetic ballasts 2-pole technology Compact emergency (150x40xh30), compatible with all electromagnetic reactors. Two-pole technology with simplified 4-wire cabling, has been adopted for unparalleled ease of installation. R SERIES emergency for fluorescent lamps with magnetic and electronic ballasts 3-pole technology Compact emergency (150x40xh30), compatible with all electronic, dimmable electronic and electromagnetic reactors. Three-pole technology has been adopted with a view to matchless compatibility: - two poles designed to switch on the lamp; - one pole (auxiliary relay) designed to delay power supply to the electronic reactor when normal power supply conditions are restored. Therefore, following emergency operation, the electronic reactor will be first connected to the lamp and then supplied with power. This is the only way of preventing malfunctions or failures caused by systems protecting modern electronic reactors. T SERIES and C SERIES emergency for fluorescent lamps with magnetic and electronic ballasts 5-pole technology The T series means low-profile emergency (230x32xh22); the C series is available in a compact version (150x40xh30). Compatible with all electronic, dimmable electronic and electromagnetic reactors. Both series answer the specific requirements of linear, compact T5 lamps, and also suit TC and T8 lamps: - preliminary cathode heating (1s); - heating during emergency operation; - AC power supply (it prevents mercury migration, which causes the tube to go red, in amalgam and low mercury content lamps); - 5-pole technology, four poles designed to switch on the lamp, one pole (auxiliary relay) designed to delay power supply to the electronic reactor when normal power supply conditions are restored. COMBO L SERIES electronic power supplier with built-in emergency device for LED lamps Compact, it functions as a power supplier and emergency device in one unit. A SERIES emergency for halogen lamps Compact emergency (150x40xh30), compatible with all electronic and electromagnetic transformers. ELB SERIES comprehensive box for fluorescent and halogen lamps A self-contained unit, it incorporates the inverter and the batteries. Class II approved, IP40 COMBO MLB SERIES comprehensive box for fluorescent and halogen lamps A self-contained unit, it incorporates the ballast for ordinary lighting, the inverter and the batteries for emergency lighting. This solution results in remarkably simplified wiring. The installer will just have to connect the power suppliers and the lamp contacts. The MAT1 module, which can be connected to all of the preset kits, performs localized self-diagnosis tests automatically and autonomously. The MAT2 module can also be connected to the MATC unit through a dali-type bus, to obtain a centralized self-diagnosis system. 32 MODULO AUTOTEST A MICROPROCESSORE Self-diagnosis microprocessor module MAT2 Il modulo MAT2 è dotato di un sofisticato dispositivo a microprocessore che lo rende in grado di effettuare controlli diversificati, periodicamente, in modo automatico e autonomo. Collegando il modulo MAT2 al Kit di emergenza predisposto, si ottiene un sistema localizzato le cui informazioni sulla funzionalità sono affidate a un led luminoso a tre colori. Test di funzionalità Ogni 7 giorni effettua in modo automatico un breve test (circa 30 secondi) di verifica di funzionalità del tubo fluorescente. Test di autonomia Ogni 12 settimane effettua in modo automatico un test (1 o 3 ore) di verifica di autonomia della batteria. Routine di test La routine di test inizia dal momento in cui il kit viene alimentato con la tensione di rete e si resetta togliendo le alimentazioni di rete e batteria. Il sistema prevede l utilizzo dei kit d emergenza Alvit con il modulo di autotest MAT2. Tutti i moduli MAT2 vengono collegati con un Bus tipo DALI all unità centrale MATC. Il protocollo tipo DALI prevede l utilizzo di un collegamento in parallelo a 2 poli (non polarizzati) con una distanza massima di 300mt tra la centrale e l ultimo apparecchio. L unità MATC gestisce fino a 128 lampade suddivise in 2 gruppi, A e B per un massimo di 64 apparecchi per gruppo. L assegnazione dei gruppi viene impostata manualmente sui singoli moduli MAT2, posizionando l apposito ponticello (prima di alimentare i moduli!). FUNZIONI L unità centrale ricerca e memorizza automaticamente tutte le lampade d emergenza (equipaggiate con i moduli MAT2). L unità centrale effettua la ricerca del numero identificativo della lampada, individua il gruppo di appartenenza (A o B, pre impostato tramite ponticello sul modulo MAT2 prima di alimentarli) e assegna un numero da 1 a max 128. Una volta trovate e memorizzate tutte le lampade installate, è possibile effettuare test di funzionalità delle lampade e di durata delle batterie. La programmazione dei test può essere differenziata per i due gruppi per garantire la massima sicurezza d esercizio. L unità centrale effettua autodiagnosi in modalità automatica o manuale. MODALITÀ AUTOMATICA Test lampada Ogni sette giorni viene effettuato un test di accensione della lampada (della durata di 30 secondi circa). È possibile program mare il giorno e l ora del test, che verrà eseguito contempo raneamente per tutte le lampade di un gruppo. Test batteria Con un intervallo di tempo regolabile da 1 a 52 settimane viene effettuato un test di autonomia contemporaneamente per tutte le lampade di un gruppo. La durata del test, 1 o 3 ore, deve essere preventivamente impostata sul modulo MAT2 tramite apposito ponticello. The central unit uses a DALI like (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) communications protocol. Under the DALI protocol, (nonpolarized) 2-pole parallel connection must be used with a maximum distance of 300 m between the central unit and the last appliance. The central unit controls up to 128 lamps divided into 2 groups. Each of the 2 groups, A and B, can control up to 64 appliances. After all the installed lamps have been located and memorized, lamp functionality and battery life tests can be performed. The central unit makes self-diagnoses in the automatic or manual mode.. MANUAL MODE The user menu of the central unit can be accessed to: - perform the tests of every single lamp manually - obtain information on the state of the lamps - obtain information on the outcome of the tests performed in the automatic mode - set the starting time of the tests - adjust the time interval of the battery tests - localize the lamps - print reports. THERMAL MATRIX PRINTER + MATC-INTERFACE Using the specially designed MATC Interface module allows a panel thermal matrix printer to be connected, so that reports on the performed tests can be printed. Up to 5 Printer Modules can be connected to one central unit, or up to 5 central units can be connected to one printer interface. PC + MATC-INTERFACE Using the specially designed MATC Interface module allows the central unit to be connected to a PC, so that the whole system can be managed via software. Up to 32 MAIN units can be connected, for a total of 4,096 appliances in one system. AUTOMATIC MODE Lamp test A lamp lighting test (lasting approximately 15 seconds) is performed every seven days. Both the day and the time of the test - which will be performed simultaneously for all the lamps of a group - can be programmed. Battery test With a time interval set to 1 to 52 weeks, a range test is performed simultaneously for all the lamps of a group. 37 ALVIT EMERGENCY LIGHTING SYSTEMS Allo scopo di fornire indicazioni utili per un corretta scelta del kit per illuminazione di emergenza, da abbinare ai reattori elettronici, è utile ricordare alcuni aspetti fondamentali. Abbinare un kit d'emergenza che non dispone di un apposito sistema che tolga tensione al reattore elettronico durante il funzionamento in emergenza, può seriamente compromettere l'integrità del reattore stesso. I reattori elettronici di ultima generazione adottano dispositivi di protezione sensibili che potrebbero attivarsi se abbinati a normali kit di emergenza. Può succedere che, al ripristino della rete dopo un funzionamento in emergenza, il reattore elettronico vada in protezione (stand-by). Rischi maggiori si possono verificare se viene tolta tensione alla sola linea di emergenza (rete non interrotta) lasciando tensione alla linea dell'il lum inazione ordinaria (rete interrotta). Per esempio durante la normali operazioni di manutenzione. Per riaccendere la lampada sarà necessario resettare (togliendo la tensione di alimentazione) o sostituire il reattore eventualmente danneggiato. In attesa che venga emanata una precisa normativa europea in merito (come da tempo sollecitato dai paesi del Nord-Europa) è bene sapere che, per ovviare a questi inconvenienti è indispensabile la presenza di un apposito relè ausiliario che tolga tensione al reattore durante il funzionamento in emergenza e che, al ripristino delle normali condizioni, lo alimenti con un leggero ritardo. Alvit è stata la prima azienda in Italia a produrre unità d emergenza con relè ausiliario incorporato. I modelli della Serie R (disponibili sul mercato già da diversi anni) e delle recenti Serie C e Serie T incorporano il relè ausiliario con azione ritardata, e risolvono definitivamente il problema della compatibilità con i reattori elettronici. Preriscaldo dei catodi Gli alimentatori Alvit Serie C e T preriscaldano i catodi (1s) nella fase di ac censione della lampada e durante tutto il funzionamento in emergenza. In questo modo si ha la migliore accensione e si riduce il danneggiamento dei catodi aumentando la vita della lampada stessa. Alimentazione in corrente alternata Gli alimentatori Alvit Serie C e T alimentano la lam pada in corrente alternata. Si previene così la "migrazione del mercurio", causa dell'arrossamento della lampada, e si ottiene una migliore resa luminosa. BATTERIE Tutti i Kit d emergenza Alvit sono dotati di batterie ricaricabili Saft Ni-Cd ad alta temperatura. Le batterie, specifiche per sistemi d emergenza, sopportano una carica permanente per almeno 4 anni, in ambienti ad alte temperature (fino a +40 ). Modelli specifici come le VDT 70, mantengono le stesse caratteristiche a temperature fino a +55. Temperature superiori a +60 sono consentite solo per brevi periodi. Le batterie possono essere assemblate in linea o a pacchetto. - Voltaggio costante durante la scarica - Zero manuntenzione - Ciclo di vita superiore a 500 scariche - Lungo periodo di stoccaggio (fino a 12 mesi in condizioni normali: da +5 a +25 C con umidità relativa del 65%) Per abbinamento con reattori magnetici (che non hanno i suddetti problemi) è indicata la Serie E Alvit con cablaggio semplificato a 4 fili. Lampade ad amalgama e a basse dosi di mercurio La direttiva 2002/95/CE anche nota come RoHS, prevede il divieto e la limitazione di utilizzo di alcune sostanze nelle apparecchiature elettriche ed elettroniche. Già da alcuni anni, nella produzione delle lampade fluorescenti vengono utilizzate dosi di mercurio sempre più basse. È per questo motivo che, durante il funzionamento in emergenza, una adeguata alimentazione della lampada è indispensabile per prevenire alcuni inconvenienti tipici delle lampade ad amalgama e a basse dosi di mercurio. 36 ALVIT EMERGENCY LIGHTING SYSTEM SISTEMI PER LUCE D EMERGENZA

38 ALVIT EMERGENCY LIGHTING SYSTEMS Let us remind you of a few key aspects, so that we can provide you with useful information on how to choose the correct emergency lighting kit to be paired with electronic reactors. Pairing an emergency kit which is not fitted with any system for clearing the electronic reactor during emergency operation may seriously affect the reactor. Latest-generation electronic reactors are fitted with sensitive protective devices which might be released when paired with standard emergency kits. When power is restored after emergency operation, the electronic reactor may be switched to the stand-by mode. Higher risks may be run if only the emergency line is cleared (the power supply system is not switched off), leaving the ordinary lighting line hot (the power supply system is switched off). For example, during routine maintenance jobs. To switch the lamp on, the reactor will have to be reset (by clearing the power supply system) or replaced, if it has been damaged. While waiting for a European standard to be issued in this respect (as has long been urged by North European countries), it should be emphasized that, to deal with these problems, an auxiliary relay should be available to clear the reactor during emergency operation and - as normal conditions are restored - supply it with power with a slight delay. Alvit was the first company in Italy to take a serious approach to the problem. The Alvit R series (which has been available in the market for a few years) and the recently launched C and T series are the solution. They incorporate the delayed-action auxiliary relay, thus being totally compatible with electronic reactors, and also suit magnetic reactors. Preliminary Cathode Heating Alvit power suppliers (C and T series) apply preliminary cathode heating (1s) while the lamp is being switched on in emergency, and heat cathodes throughout emergency operation. Hence the lamp is switched on more effectively and cathode damage is reduced, while prolonging the life of the lamp. AC Power Supply Alvit power suppliers (C and T series) supply the lamp with AC power. This makes it possible to prevent "mercury migration", which causes the lamp to go red, and enhance light yield, while prolonging the life of the lamp. BATTERIES All Emergency lighting kits Alvit are provided with rechargeable high temperature Ni-Cd Saft batteries. These cells accept a permanent charge for a minimum of 4 years in high-temperature environments (up to +40 C) such as security lighting equipment. Improved versions of the cells, such as the VTD 70, can withstand a constant temperature of up to +55 C with a similar lifetime when permanently charged. Temperatures up to +60 C are permitted for short durations. Batteries should be supplied with tube or pack configurations. - Constant voltage during discharge - Zero maintenance - Long cycle life (over 500 charge discharge cycles) - Long term storage (up 12 months in normal conditions: temperature range of +5 to +25 C in a 65 ± 5% relative humidity atmosphere) The Alvit E series, with simplified 4-wire cabling, is recommended with magnetic reactors (where the above-mentioned problems are not shown). Amalgam and Low Mercury Content Lamps Under Directive 2002/95/EC, also known as RoHS, the use of a few substances is prohibited or limited in electric and electronic equipment. For a few years increasingly low amounts of mercury have been used in the production of fluorescent lamps. Therefore, during emergency operation, the lamp should be supplied with adequate power, if the problems typically encountered with amalgam and low mercury content lamps are to be avoided. 39 ALVIT EMERGENCY LIGHTING SYSTEMS DIRETTIVA 2002/96/CE (WEEE/RAEE) La direttiva 2002/96/CE del riguarda lo smaltimento dei Rifiuti derivati dalle Apparecchiature Elettriche ed Elettroniche (RAEE, o anche WEEE: Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Lo scopo della direttiva 200/96/CE è la riduzione dei rifiuti delle Apparecchiature Elettriche ed Elettroniche al fine di incentivare il riutilizzo, il riciclo o altre forme di recupero di tali rifiuti. La direttiva WEEE, si applica pure, come apparec - chiature, agli apparecchi illuminanti e agli apparecchi elettrodomestici. Nello scopo della Direttiva viene pre - cisato che si applica a prodotti di consumo e che i componenti incorporati in tali prodotti sono esclusi dallo scopo della Direttiva. I componenti non devono esser smaltiti separa tamente ma assieme all apparecchio illuminante e all apparecchio elettrodomestico dove sono montati. Quanto sopra vale pure per i componenti, definiti come indipendenti, montati esternamente all apparec chio illuminante o all apparecchio elettrodomestico, poiché vanno intesi solo come unità funzionali per il corretto funzionamento dell apparecchiatura coperta dalla Direttiva 2002/96/CE. DIRETTIVA 2002/95/CE (RoHS) La Direttiva 2002/95/CE, del 27 Gennaio 2003, riguarda le restrizioni dell uso di determinate sostanze pericolose nelle apparecchiature elettriche ed elettroniche (RoHS: Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances). La Direttiva RoHS stabilisce che a partire dal 1 luglio 2006 sia impedita la commercializzazione di apparec chiature elettriche ed elettroniche contenenti sostanze pericolose Piombo (Pb), Cadmio (Cd), Mercurio (Hg), Cromo Esavalente (Cr6+), Bifenile Polibromurati (PBB), Etere di Difenile polibromurato (PBDE) con livelli superiori ai limiti ammessi. La Direttiva 2002/95/CE si applica a tutti gli Apparecchi Illuminanti e di conseguenza a tutti i suoi componenti. Da evidenziare inoltre che le batterie sono escluse dalla Direttiva in oggetto poiché regolamentate dalla Direttiva 98/101/CE. Alvit assicura che tutti i componenti utilizzati sono conformi alla Direttiva 200/95/CE. GARANZIA Alvit garantisce i suoi prodotti per 24 mesi dalla data di fabbricazione indicata sui prodotti stessi. La garanzia copre tutti gli eventuali difetti di fabbricazione. La garanzia non copre gli eventuali danni causati da un utilizzo errato e non conforme alle istruzioni di installazione e impiego. Qualsiasi modifica annulla la garanzia e può rendere pericoloso il prodotto. Seguire attentamente le istruzioni per garantire un funzionamento corretto e sicuro. DIRECTIVE 2002/96/CE (WEEE) The Directive 2002/96/CE of 27/09/2003 regards the disposal of Waste deriving from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). Above all, the purpose of the Directive 2002/96/CE is the reduction of electrical and electronic equipment waste and to reduce waste even further by encouraging the reutilisation, recycling or other forms of recovery of this waste. The WEEE Directive, also applies to lighting equipment and electro-domestic equipment. Within the objective of the Directive, it is specified that the Directive is applied to consumer products and that the components incorporated in these products are excluded from the objective of the Directive. The components must not be disposed of separately but together with the lighting equipment and the electro-domestic equipment in which they are assembled. The above is also valid for the components that are assembled externally of the lighting equipment or the electro-domestic equipment and defined as independent because they are only intended to be functional units for the correct functioning of the equipment covered by the Directive 2002/96/CE. DIRECTIVE 2002/95/CE (RoHS) The Directive 2002/95/CE 27/01/2003 regards the restriction of the use of determined dangerous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS - Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances). The RoHS Directive establishes that from the 1st of July 2006, the commercialisation is forbidden of new electrical and electronic equipment with dangerous substances Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) with levels more than the permitted limits. The Directive 2002/95/CE, is applied to all Lighting Equipment and consequently all of their components. It must be noted furthermore that batteries are excluded from the Directive 2002/95/CE because they are regulated by the Directive 98/101/CE. Alvit ensure that all components utilised conform to the Directive 2002/95/CE. WARRANTY Alvit guarantees its products for 24 months from the manufacturing date shown on the products. The warranty covers any and all manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover damage due to improper use not conforming to the installation and operating instructions. Any modification will void the warranty and can make the product dangerous. Follow the instructions carefully to ensure correct and safe operation. The fixture cannot be modified. Alvit shall not be responsible for any product damage caused by mounting procedures which do not comply with the instructions. The European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimise the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed out wheeled bin symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance it must be separately collected. Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information conceming the correct disposai of their old appliance.
