The reduced availability of traditional energy sources and the resulting increase in their cost now make it vital, for the strategic development of companies, to identify the best way of managing production processes and optimising the use of resources. To meet this growing need effectively, in both environmental and economic terms, SACMI founded H.E.R.O., High Efficiency Resource Optimiser. This study and research laboratory is dedicated to developing innovative technologies for achieving the greatest possible resource savings in every phase of the production process. The special applications developed as part of the H.E.R.O. project enable the energy consumption of the main machine in the installation to be reduced by more than 2% on average, with a view to more careful energy management. The economic benefits are therefore reflected in the company s profits right from the first year of application, as part of a strategy of respect for the environment and constant raising of quality standards. La minore disponibilità delle fonti energetiche tradizionali, con il conseguente aumento dei loro costi, rende oggi vitale per lo sviluppo strategico delle aziende individuare la migliore gestione dei processi produttivi e ottimizzare l utilizzo delle risorse. Per rispondere con efficacia a questa crescente esigenza a livello ambientale ed economico, SACMI ha fondato H.E.R.O. - High Efficiency Resource Optimizer, un laboratorio di studi e ricerca dedicato allo sviluppo di tecnologie innovative volte al massimo risparmio delle risorse in tutte le fasi dei processi di produzione. Le applicazioni speciali sviluppate all interno del progetto H.E.R.O. permettono un contenimento medio dei consumi energetici delle macchine principali dell impianto di oltre il 2%, nell ottica di un più attento energy management. I vantaggi economici si riflettono così sul conto profitti dell impresa già dal primo anno di applicazione, all interno di una strategia che rispetta l ambiente ed eleva costantemente gli standard qualitativi.

3 Operating System Sistema di funzionamento In response to increasing demand for eco-compatible industrial technologies, Sacmi has designed a tile packaging system which dramatically reduces the use of packaging materials for disposal on building sites, with all the resulting economic and environmental benefits that this gives producers and users. The principle of the new packager is based on a simple method of protecting the side corners. It is not so much a packaging system as a protection system created by applying punched cardboard on two sides of the tiles. The cardboard pieces are locked onto the tile stack using two straps which can be used on the building site as a simple grip system for the product. The range of formats with the same type of application can include traditional and large formats with no specific fitting modifications, thereby maintaining simplicity and reliability. A fronte di una domanda crescente di tecnologie industriali eco-compatibili, Sacmi ha progettato un sistema di confezionamento per piastrelle che riduce drasticamente l impiego di materiale di imballaggio da smaltire nei cantieri, con tutti i benefici economici ed ambientali che ne conseguono per produttori ed utilizzatori. Il principio della nuova confezionatrice infatti si basa sulla semplice protezione degli spigoli laterali. Non si parla più di un sistema di confezione, ma di un sistema di protezione ottenuto con l applicazione di cartoni fustellati su due lati delle piastrelle. I cartoni vengono bloccati assieme alla pila di piastrelle per mezzo di due reggette che in cantiere potranno poi essere utilizzate come semplice sistema di presa del prodotto. La gamma dei formati potrà comprendere, con la stessa tipologia di applicazione, formati tradizionali e grandi formati senza particolari modifiche di allestimenti a vantaggio della semplicità e della affidabilità.

Project Economic and environmental benefits Benefici economici ed ambientali Comparing with traditional packaging shows that in the case of medium and large formats, exceptional cardboard savings are achieved. These, translated into economic terms and based on a cardboard cost of.35/m2 and production of 1,65, m2/year, can be quantified as savings compared to tray packaging of around 6% for large formats such as 6x6 or 6x12 cm and as much as 75% for larger slabs. The economic advantage is less but remains considerable even compared with traditional wrap packaging: in the case of 3x3 cm format, reduces the packaging cost by 37%. Dal confronto fra e confezionamento tradizionale si osserva nel caso dei formati medi e grandi, un eccezionale risparmio di cartone, che, tradotto in termini economici, considerando un costo del cartone di,35 /mq e una produzione di mq/anno, viene quantificato in risparmi rispetto alla confezione a vassoio dell ordine del 6% per formati grandi quali il 6x6 o il 6x12 cm e addirittura del 75% per le lastre di formato superiore.
