5 OCEAN 62 SUPER SPORT D o you remember the classic American high-sea fisherman without any compromises? A strong deep V -shaped hull, a cockpit fully accessorized for fishing parties, powerful and fast, Spartan outside yet very luxurious and roomy inside. It is the identikit of 62 Super Sport of Ocean. The yacht is built with that great care as usually paid by the shipyard of New Jersey for these last 30 years. The robust hull is made of fibreglass soaked with vinyl-ester resin with Divinycell reinforcement and isophtalic gel coat, covered by a limited transferable 5 years guarantee and certified by the National Marine Manufacturers Association. The two engines are obviously performing, in a position to help also in case of difficult conditions. Already with the two standard diesel MAN V12 powered with 1550 HP, Ocean 62 can easily overcome 30 knots, reaching up to 40 with two Caterpillar C32 with 1675 hp. Also the engines and the two standard 12,5 Kw generators have a five years guarantee. The 62 Super Sport is available in two versions, open or Enclosed Fly-bridge: both configurations have the control station placed on the fly since the front part of the superstructure is closed by the moulding part in fibreglass typical of the American fishermen to better face the oceanic waves. As it is worthwhile to a fishing machine the cockpit is a sheer hunting station, accessorized with a tank for baits, a station to prepare baits with freezer and sink, fresh water or sea water to rinse, rod holders on bulwarks, storage compartment in the floor, cabinets and a porthole to bring the catch up astern. Obviously, among the optional items there is a fighting chair, otter boards, further rod holders on the grabrail of the flybridge and the possibility to embellish the toerail with teak. The open fly of the standard version, protected by a hard top and closed on three sides, can be reached through an outside staircase. It provides a control station in the middle deck to allow a better view in any direction, complete electronic instrumentation and a large U -shaped sofa placed at bow of the control station. 6 instead connected to the main deck through an internal winding staircase. In this case the steering gears are placed forward and the fl y converts into a sheer living room, with a spacious sofa and table, a corner with cocktail cabinet, fridge/icemaker, TV and DVD. Outside, towards aft, another simplifi ed control station facilitates the operations when hauling and mooring. Underneath, the main deck presents a luxury lounge furnished with bulwarks and teak or, on request, cherry-wood furniture, a large leather sofa and a complete standard entertainment system with LCD TV, DVD and an audio Bose equiment. Towards bow on the portboard bulwark there is an galley, large and fully accessorized, with a four burner range, vertical fridge with freezer, microwave, garbage disposer, suction hood and Corian shelves. Opposite, where usually you can fi nd the internal steering gear, there is instead a comfortable dinette accommodating up to 5 people. Going underdeck we fi nd other generous volumes. In fact there is room for three large cbins, a bow VIP cabin with a bias berth, the beam master suite amidships, and the guest cabin with twin bed to portboard. They provide full-height wardrobes, sets of drawers,many cabinets with cedar-wood fi nishes and a bathroom with separate shower stall. A fourth cabin for the crew or an additional guest is placed on the starboard bulwark opposite to the lumber room near the staircase. It share the bathroom with the guest cabin but, on request, it can be converted into a useful laundry. In short this Ocean 62 Super Sport is a fi sherman but also a big cruise yacht for those who do not want to give up anything.
