A note from Fr. Wayne... The Gospel this weekend gives each of us the most wonderful opportunity to pray for vocations to the priesthood, religious life, and the diaconate. Jesus offers an invitation for those with Him to follow after Him. We must pray that those who hear this invitation have the courage and the support to respond. We need to always foster a positive attitude for vocations. Equally, we should encourage those around us to consider serving the Lord and His Church. Sometimes it only takes for one person to ask another to consider a vocation to the priesthood, religious life, or diaconate. The classes are informal & fun. 50th Anniversary Sacred Heart Fire Join us for a special anniversary Mass to commemorate the fire which took place on January 30, 1965. The church was completely destroyed in that five-alarm fire; however, the spirit that makes this parish strong continued on! I cittadini di Nìnive credettero a Dio e bandirono un digiuno, vestirono il sacco, grandi e piccoli. Our Moral Life In Christ The Didache Series - Midwest Theological Forum The Natural Law Natural Law is an expression of the moral law. Conduct that leads us to a good human end is morally good. For example, it is correct to eat the proper amount of nutritious food so our bodies stay healthy and grow. An action that leads us away from a proper end is immoral. For instance, it is wrong to drink so much alcohol that you become irrational and do irresponsible and dangerous acts. An amazing thing about natural law morality is that nothing is arbitrary about good and evil for human beings. Arbitrary would mean something is good or bad because some authority decrees it to be. For example, abortion did not become wrong because God randomly chose to make it wrong. Nor can it become right even if a government, a panel of medical experts, or a celebrity so eminently qualified to make bioethical pronouncements says so. It is wrong because it violates the most fundamental good of an innocent human being: the right to life from conception until natural death.
