La decorazione a mano Hand-painting I prodotti realizzati in Kergrès sono decorati nel rispetto di antiche tecniche pittoriche. Le piccole differenze nella decorazione degli oggetti aggiungono valore al prodotto poiché ne testimoniano l esecuzione interamente a mano. The products made of Kergrès are being created keeping to ancient painting techniques. Small differences on the decoration are a surplus value as they are the proof of their handicraft execution. Decorazione con tamponi ad impressione I tamponi sono realizzati con gomme particolari che possono assumere infinite forme; si imprime un tampone alla volta nell oggetto da decorare, dopo averlo intinto nel colore. L operazione si ripete anche centinaia di volte per comporre decori complessi. L interpretazione dell artigiano decoratore, l intensità della pressione del tampone sull oggetto, la densità del colore, la dimensione del timbro sono variabili non facilmente controllabili, data la manualità e la diversa sensibilità degli operatori, ne deriva un effetto cromatico sempre unico. Decoration by pressure with stamps The stamps are made with special rubbers that can take on infinite shapes; after dipping it in the colour, one stamp at a time is pressed on the object. The operation is repeated even hundreds of times to make up complex patterns. The interpretation of the craftsman, the intensity of the pressure of the stamp on the object, the density of the colour, the size of the stamp can vary and they are not controllable due to the handedness and to the different sensibility of the operators. All these factors create an unique chromatic effect. Decorazione con ingobbi colorati L ingobbio è un colore che ha una forte componente di argilla che, essendo plastica e consistente, gli conferisce un inconfondibile rilievo. Si stende sull oggetto solo a mano e con strumenti adeguati perché i colori sono molto densi, se usata la tipica pompetta al posto del pennello, l ingobbio assume rilievi di grande effetto decorativo. È necessario miscelare il colore con particolari sostanze che inglobano l ingobbio nello smalto. Decoration with coloured engobes The coloured engobe are made with a high quantity of clays that, being plastic and consistent, offer distinctive embossed effects. They can be applied on the object only by hand with appropriate tools as the colours are very thick. When using the typical squirt instead of the brush, the engobe forms reliefs of great decorative effect. It is necessary to mix special substances with the colours to incorporate the engobe in the glaze. 64
