SHOWS AND EVENTS by Simone Leo photos by Nicoletta Abelli, Irina Filsinger Nella prima settimana di novembre si è svolto l atteso Campionato Europeo 2009, l appuntamento che tasta il polso in attesa dell evento clou che si terrà a breve giro di posta in quel di Parigi, ed è stato preceduto dalla Coppa Italia, interessante competizione riservata ai cavalli nati ed allevati in Italia, con un bel montepremi per i vincitori. La struttura ospitante era la spettacolare Fiera di Verona che accoglie in se le più disparate razze equine e le loro relative discipline, oltre a manifestazioni di ogni genere, attrezzature, abbigliamento, in una superficie di 350mila metri quadrati. Nonostante il meteo non sia stato molto clemente, l afflusso di pubblico è stato davvero notevole ed il nostro padiglione proprio stipato in tutti e quattro i giorni di competizioni. VeronaFiere, con i suoi centoundici anni di riconoscimenti e l ANICA con la sua esperienza, hanno reso possibile, anche in questa occasione, un evento davvero incredibile in cui il cavallo è stato l assoluto protagonista. Complimenti all instancabile Massimo Meldo che si è reso disponibile e ha dato il massimo affinché questa manifestazione riuscisse al meglio. Come di consueto la Fondazione Arena di Verona ha messo a disposizione alcuni degli allestimenti della scenografia dell Aida, questo a rendere ancora più affascinante il colpo d occhio dell ampia arena e degli spalti, nonché dei tavoli VIP davvero stracolmi. Bella l iniziativa di regalare una rosa alle donne che facevano ingresso nel padiglione, come si dice: se il buon giorno si vede dal mattino, niente di più azzeccato visti i giorni di adrenalina, di fascino e di emozioni che questo appuntamento ha saputo regalare. This event tests the pulse in preparation for the Paris event and takes place after the Italian Cup, an interesting competition reserved for horses born and bred in Italy with appealing prizes. The event was hosted by Fiera di Verona, the 350,000 sq m exhibition space that brings together the most diverse equine breeds and their sports, in addition to offering all sorts of shows, equipment and apparel. Despite the bad weather, there was a good number of spectators and our pavilion was jam-packed for all the four days. Thanks to VeronaFiere, with its 111 years of awards, and ANICA with its expertise, once again the event was truly amazing and the horse was undoubtedly at its core. Congratulations to the indefatigable Massimo Meldo, who made himself available and gave his best to ensure that everything ran smoothly. As usual, Fondazione Arena di Verona provided some of the scenery used for the opera Aida, which made the view over the ring, the stands and the packed VIP tables even more impressive. Very much appreciated was the idea of giving a rose to all the women entering the pavilion, and with this the day got off on the right foot. Besides, nothing could be more apt, considering the adrenaline, the charm and the emotions that this event gave to people. The intervals were used for unique shows, which highlighted the respect for horses and the symbiosis that our noble friend has had with man since the beginning of time. Cristian Da Pos, for example, fascinated the public with his stallion LF Nasar; it was so moving to see them together hugging in the middle of the ring. Cristian Da Pos, ad esempio, ha affascinato il pubblico con il suo stallone, LF Nasar, una carezza all anima vederli assieme ad abbracciarsi in mezzo al campo, davvero complimenti a loro e quanti come loro ci fanno ricordare quanto sia unico il rapporto che si instaura con un proprio animale. Da rilevare anche la presenza di ospiti internazionali tra cui il nuovo proprietario di True Colours Ronen Braver (Israele) ospite di Fontanella Magic Arabians e Arabian Training Center Ca di Gianni. Ma passiamo alla prima gara non ECAHO disputatasi, quella che laureava i campioni nella Coppa Italia organizzata dal sig. Massimo Meldo, che prevedeva l utilizzo dei mezzi punti e la premiazione con le tre medaglie. THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP The challenging categories and the final championship of the European Championship 2009 were held on Saturday and Sunday, a fundamental part of a really intense competitive year. Equally intense was the first category, with twenty wonderful yearling fillies vying for the top spot. It was going to be a tough job for the judges, who could not rely on the fundamental contribution of the half point, a key aspect when the quality is so high and the competitors quality is so close to each other. The judges were Mrs. Christiane Chazel (FR), Mrs. Ann Norden (S), Dr. Nasr Marei (EG), Dr. Mohamed Machmoum (Morocco), Mr. Marco Pittaluga (IT) and Mr. Willi Poth (FR). This important competition was marked by excellence in terms of numbers and quality, which even the spectators including many PBA lovers could not resist. Others were mesmerized by the thrilling atmosphere that only the great championships can give. Top in her category was *Alma Al Tiglio (Ajman Moniscione x Amanda Al Tiglio), working overtime having also taken part in the Italian Cup. She won the top place for the joy of her owner, the Buzzi stud (IT). IL CAMPIONATO EUROPEO Nelle giornate di sabato e domenica si sono disputate le serrate categorie ed il campionato finale che laureava i campioni d Europa 2009, tappa fondamentale di un anno agonistico davvero intenso. Ed intensa è stata la prima categoria, con ben venti splendide puledre di un anno a darsi battaglia in campo. Un lavoro impegnativo per la giuria designata - che non ha potuto contare neanche nell apporto fondamentale dell uso del mezzo punto, aspetto fondamentale in categorie dove la qualità è così alta ed i soggetti spesso si equiparano - composta dalla sig.ra Christiane Chazel (FR), dalla sig.ra Ann Norden dalla Svezia, dal dr. Nasr Marei (EG), dal dr. Mohamed Machmoum dal Marocco, dall ing. Marco Pittaluga (IT) e dal sig. Willi Poth (FR). Da sottolineare l ottima partecipazione, in termini di numeri e di qualità, a questa importante competizione a cui non hanno saputo resistere neanche gli spettatori, molti dei quali appassionati del p.s.a. mentre altri solo affascinati dall atmosfera entusiasmante che solo le grandi competizioni sanno regalare. Prima della categoria la bella *Alma Al Tiglio (Ajman Moniscione x Amanda Al Tiglio), in vena di straordinari avendo partecipato anche alla Coppa Italia, si è aggiudicata la prima posizione per la gioia del proprietario, l Az. Agr. Buzzi (IT). Seconda posizione per *Psyche Kreuza (Ekstern x Pallas- Atena) dell allevamento polacco Chrcynno Palac mentre al terzo posto si è attestata *Turchiya MPE (WH Justice x Thee Rahiba) allevata e di proprietà del sig. Antonio Manzi (IT). Per la categoria dei maschi di un anno, una figura d eccezione ha premiato i primi della categoria, parliamo del Ministro delle Politiche Agricole, Alimentari e Forestali, l Onorevole Luca Zaia, persona molto attenta alla conservazione e protezione del territorio nonché del rilancio dei nostri prodotti d eccellenza, tra questi non poteva di certo mancare l allevamento del P.S.A. *Shangay EA (WH Justice x Salymah) dell Equus Arabians (ES) si aggiudica il primo posto seguito da *Fahim Ishane OS (Ajman Moniscione x Praetoria), allevato in Germania e di proprietà del sig. Gilles Morand (FR) e da *Marjan Albidayer (Marajj x Pustynna Droga), allevato in Emirati e di proprietà della Marjan Syndacate (DE). Molto più popolata la categoria successiva, quella delle puledre di due anni, che ha regalato una bella vittoria alla splendida *Juwanda OS (WH Justice x Shak Lavanda), autrice di un ottima prova, allevata in Germania e di proprietà della Dubai Arabian Horse Stud (UAE). Seconda posizione per *F.M. Gloria (WH Justice x Psity Of Angels) di proprietà del sig. James Swaenepoel (B) mentre al terzo posto si è attestata *Baila De Djoon OS (Ajman Moniscione x Shak Shakira) allevata in Germania e di proprietà di Sh. Mohammed Bin Saud Al Qasimi (UAE). Sei i partecipanti alla categoria dei puledri di due anni. Second place for *F.M. Gloria (WH Justice x Psity Of Angels) owned by Mr. James Swaenepoel (B), while *Baila De Djoon OS (Ajman Moniscione x Shak Shakira), bred in Germany and owned by Sh. Mohammed Bin Saud Al Qasimi (UAE) was third. There were only six entries in the category of two-year-old colts. Reaching the top step of the podium was *Abha Qatar (Marwan Al Shaqab x ZT Ludjkalba), bred in Spain and owned by the Almohamadia Arabian Horse Stud (KSA). Second place for the chestnut *HDB Sihr Ibn Massai (Massai Ibn Marenga x Mayana), bred in Germany and owned by Mr. Giampaolo Gubbiotti (IT) while *Ali Moniscione (Psytadel x Alianna Moniscione), bred and owned by Giancarlo Buzzi s stud (IT) was third. Winner of the category of three-year-old fillies was *Psyche Victoria (Ekstern x Pallas- Atena) of Chrcynno Palac (PL); second place for *Abha Al Shaqab (Abha Fadil x Abha Galati), bred in Spain and owned by the Al Shaqab Stud (QAT) and third was *Espinezja (Psytadel x Entaga) owned by Falborek Arabians Gozdzialski k. (PL). Exciting and intensely fought was also the category of three-year-old colts. The winner of the podium was the well known *Kabsztad (Poganin x Kwestura) bred in Poland and owned by Al Khalediah Stables (KSA). In second place, in a tie with the third but with a higher score in type, was *Magic Romeo (Windsprees Mirage x M Randy) owned by Le Quercette (IT), while the third place went to *Hypnotic Ibn Eternity (Eternity Ibn Navarrone-P x WH Marissa Rose) owned by the El Kheir Stud Farm (B). The mare category is always fascinating, and the competition held on this occasion with sixteen entries aged between four and six lived up to these expectations. Winner with as many as eight 20s was the ever-more-beautiful *Magora (Gazal Al Shaqab x Margotka), bred in Sweden and owned by the Al Khalediah Stables (KSA). Second place for another lovely daughter of Gazal Al Shaqab, the gray *Emandoria (x Emanda), which performed really well. She is owned by the Michalow Stud (PL), an institution in European breeding. The third place went to *CF Shamila (Moroc x AG Samsarah), for the joy of her owner, Mrs. Francesca Tomasoni s stud. Hers was a really wonderful performance. For the category of stallions aged four to six, the winner for the stunning gray *LVA Maximus (Espano Estopa x Challon Salana), bred and owned by Lilyview Arabians (GB), followed by another gray, *Menphis 27 (El Amin x SA Misha Apal) owned by Mr. James Swaenepoel (B) and by the typey *M.M. Fabrizio (CH El Brillo x MFA Forgetmenot) owned by Francesco Tripodi s stud. The category of mares aged seven to nine had just three participants. The top places were easily assigned: first place for the beautiful typey *Millennia (The Final Judgement x Madeira), recent Silver Medal at the Italian Championship and owned by Mr. Gianpaolo Gubbiotti. Second place for *Al Aliha (DWD Tabasco x Al Aliha), bred and owned by Al Hambra Arabians (A). *Shariba (Gazal AL Shaqab x Thee Rahiba) of Mr. Antonio Manzi s Farima Stud was third. Many more entries for the equivalent category of stallion, all of them of high quality, as it is customary in every European Championship worth its salt. Winning the top place thanks to a great performance was the straight Egyptian *F Shamaal (Maysoun x Sarameena), owned by the Al Khalediah Stables (KSA). Second place for the gray *Girlan Bey (Pesal x Gracia Bis), which was unanimously awarded 20s in movement and thrilled the spectators. This stallion is owned by the Kristoffersen family from Sweden. Another gray stallion, *Poganin (Laheeb x Pohulanka) of the Janow Podlaski Stud (PL) was third. The category of over-10 mares had only three entries. Antonio Manzi. Molto più nutrita la categoria equivalente per gli stalloni e tutti di gran qualità, come ogni buon Europeo che si rispetti. A conquistare la prima posizione il puro egiziano *F Shamaal (Maysoun x Sarameena), autore di un ottimo show e di proprietà dell Al Khalediah Stables (KSA). Al secondo posto si è attestato il grigio *Girlan Bey (Pesal x Gracia Bis), che ha ottenuto 20 unanimi in movimento esaltando il pubblico. Questo stallone è di proprietà della Famiglia Kristoffersen dalla Svezia. Al terzo posto si è classificato un altro grigio, *Poganin (Laheeb x Pohulanka) dell Allevamento Janow Podlaski (PL). Anche nella categoria delle fattrici di oltre dieci anni di età a presentarsi nel ring solo tre soggetti. La pluridecorata *Kwestura (Monogramm x Kwesta), allevata in Polonia, con ben dodici 20 si aggiudica il podio più alto per la gioia del proprietario, l Ajman Stud di S.A. lo sceicco Ammar bin Rashid Al Nuaimi (UAE). In seconda posizione una grigia sempre figlia di Monogramm e nata nelle stesse scuderie, parliamo di *Georgia (x Gizela) di proprietà dell Allevamento Mikhalow (PL). Dopo una breve pausa è arrivato il momento che tutti aspettavano, il Campionato finale che ha registrato la presenza delle personalità più di spicco. Il primo campionato disputato è stato quello delle puledre, la medaglia d Oro è stata conquistata dalla tipica, camusa e completa *Juwanda Os che anche in campionato ha rapito il pubblico ed i giudici grazie al suo armonioso movimento. Grande gioia per la Dubai Arabian Horse Stud (UAE) proprietaria della sensazionale puledra e dell handler Paolo Capecci e tutto il team di Cà di Gianni.
