PREMISE The MiBACT Direzione Generale arte e architettura contemporanee e periferie urbane and Corriere della Sera announce a competition for students of Accademie di Belle Arti italiane (Italian Fine Arts Academies): to design the cover of the la Lettura, cultural supplement of the Corriere della Sera. REQUIREMENTS Students of Accademie di Belle Arti italiane listed in Annex 2 can take part in the competition Codice Italia Accademy.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE The announcement can be found online at www.codiceitalia2015.com The proposal for a cover must be sent together with the following information: name and surname of the candidate, place and date of birth, and the name of the home Academy (see Annex 1). The proposal for the cover and the application must be sent within one month of the publication of the announcement, and no later than May 15, 2015. Applications received after this date will not be considered. The applications must be sent to the following address: lacopertina@rcs.it in the subject of the mail the candidate must write: name, surname and home Academy The proposals will be judged by a commission formed by Vincenzo Trione (curator of Padiglione Italia for the 56. Esposizione Internazionale d Arte Biennale di Venezia 2015), Antonio Troiano (editor in chief for Corriere della Sera culture section and editor in chief of la Lettura), Gianluigi Colin (art director of Corriere della Sera), by Pierenrico Ratto (managing editor of Corriere della Sera culture section), by Luisa Sacchi (Head of Collateral RCS newspapers) and Fabio Genovesi (writer). By June 20 the names of the winners will be made known on the website www.codiceitalia2015.com and at www.corriere.it. The best works will be published as covers of la Lettura in the months of July and August and will be displayed at VEGA Parco Scientifico Tecnologico di Venezia (via Libertà 12, Marghera, Venice). On this occasion an official award ceremony will be held.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS The participants can choose between two different types of covers: OPTION 1: length: mm 227.2 hight: mm 374.3 This format does not consider the heading that will be inserted by the art director Gianluigi Colin. OPTION 2: length: 227.2 hight: mm 418.5 With this option the candidate must also include the heading la Lettura and the date. Each artist must respect the graphic identity of the heading, spacing and layout.
