COMMUNICATION AND DIDACTICS OF ART

1 COMMUNICATION AND DIDACTICS OF ART The course is designed to give curators adequate theoretical-practical knowledge and a specific education in order to understand the complex mechanisms related to the art system and to the cultural offer of visual arts. The graduation lays the bases for two different career briefs: the first one is related to the world of art and its exhibition, study and preservation places; the second one is related to didactics for schools and museums. Thus, the graduates of this course have to: acquire, together with direct knowledge of the instruments of art, a sound theoretical education in order to permit them to do at their best the task of educators, especially in the museum field and in exhibition facilities; acquire, in addition to some historical knowledge, organizational competences related to different needs, which emerge in the management of exhibition facilities (museums, art galleries); acquire specific education in order to start their autonomous profession in the sphere of museum organization, either public or private. Job opportunities: didactic activities related to artistic performances; assistant in the sphere of museum organization, either public or private; arrangement and organization experts of artistic performances, press offices and public relations; art libraries and video libraries; editor for the publishing industry and art magazines; qualified assistant for the management of private art galleries.

5 RESTORATION This area aims at preparing professional curators and restorers of artistic heritage, able to preserve and enhance cultural heritage. Graduates of the five-year single cycle degrees: have the theoretical-scientific competences and knowledge in order to salvage and preserve cultural heritage through specific interventions; are able to work in the institutions that manage and maintain cultural heritage and in private professional organizations that operate in the field of conservative restoration and ambient recovery; are able to use at least one European Union s language efficiently; have adequate competences and instruments for the communication and the information administration, in particular with information technology equipments. Professional activities in the field of restoration Graduates obtain the qualification of restorer of cultural heritage; they can work with local organizations and specific institutions such as authorities, museums, libraries and archives, as well as with firms and professional organizations that operate in the field of restoration, cultural heritage preservation and ambient recovery. They will specifically deal with pictorial and sculptural restoration, as well as with paper and photography restoration.

9 SCULPTURE Visual arts department This area aims at preparing artists and qualified professionals able to develop their own individual research on traditional techniques of sculpture, as well as on the elaboration and experimentation of new expressive languages. Graduates of this course have to: have a basic adequate technical-operative education about research fields in peculiar sphere of arts, techniques, and technologies of sculpture; have adequate methodological and critical instruments in order to acquire competences in expressive languages and in the most advanced techniques and technologies in the framework of performances related to this specific area; be able to use at least one European Union s language efficiently; have adequate competences and instruments for the communication and the information administration, in particular with information technology equipments. Professional activities in the field of sculpture Graduates of this course will develop professional activities in several fields: artistic profession, research into the field of plastic arts, creative activities of planning and implementation of traditional sculpture specific interventions in the field of architecture, city planning, restoration and new technologies.

11 SCULPTURE Visual arts department This area aims at preparing artists and qualified professionals able to develop their own individual research on traditional techniques of sculpture, as well as on the elaboration and experimentation of new expressive languages. Graduates of this course have to: have a basic adequate technical-operative education about research fields in peculiar sphere of arts, techniques, and technologies of sculpture; have adequate methodological and critical instruments in order to acquire competences in expressive languages and in the most advanced techniques and technologies in the framework of performances related to this specific area; be able to use at least one European Union s language efficiently; have adequate competences and instruments for the communication and the information administration, in particular with information technology equipments. Professional activities in the field of sculpture Graduates of this course will develop professional activities in several fields: artistic profession, research into the field of plastic arts, creative activities of planning and implementation of traditional sculpture specific interventions in the field of architecture, city planning, restoration and new technologies.

13 COMMUNICATION AND ENHANCEMENT OF ARTISTIC HERITAGE The course aims to prepare people able to fit in any enhancement activity that is complementary to all protective actions operated by the Cultural Heritage Superintendence. Indeed, while in Cultural Heritage graduate courses of universities the scientific staff of conservatorship will be formed, in this course of academic degree are formed professionals who, having acquired theoretical knowledge and design skills, are able to intervene with specific training in all activities and projects aimed at the improvement of the use, knowledge and understanding of the archaeological, historical, artistic, architectural and landscape heritage. In particular, the graduates will have gained: adequate knowledge of Cultural Heritage as a whole and of its different components, from a theoretical, historical and regulatory perspective; a general knowledge of the enhancement processes applied to the single components of the Cultural Heritage; the conceiving capacity and technical skills necessary for the development of projects, even complex, in different fields of valorization. Job opportunities: graduates can act in the specific field of enhancement or as freelancers with proposals for specific activities and projects aimed at all public entities which are responsible for promotion of cultural heritage, as employees or consultants to the culture departments of regions, provinces and municipalities; as designers of exhibitions, of museum exhibitions, of paths in the territory; as employees of foundations and private institutions, specialized publishing houses, companies for the organization of cultural events.

17 STAGE DESIGN This area aims at ensuring an adequate mastery of methods, artistic techniques and competences in order to give the students knowledge and design methodologies about the use of representation instruments and artistic practices. The course also aims at developing the practice of new technological and expressive instruments, both contemporary and traditional, concerning the employment and management of space and representation principles. Graduates of this course have to: have a basic adequate artistic education, both technical and operative, in the fields of stage design, production, costume for the show business; have adequate methodological and critical instruments in order to acquire competences in expressive languages and in the most advanced techniques and technologies in the framework of performances related to this specific area; be familiar with information and communication technology equipments in the specific spheres of competence; be able to use one European Union s language efficiently. The course proposes to develop knowledge of new instruments practices. The instruments are technological and expressive, both traditional and contemporary; they concern the use and management of space and the use of materials for the accomplishment of projects on the territory. 43 FASHION DESIGN The aim of the course is to prepare specialists in the artistic planning of clothing able to create collections with a strong creative component, in which manual skill and knowledge of artisan-industrial techniques can be applied expressively and innovatively. Special attention will be dedicated to the study and research on textile and non-textile materials, in order to find new formal languages through different materials. Furthermore, the aspect of communication will be enhanced through the study and design of concepts, which can be spread in the internet. The course tends to prepare a highly flexible professional figure, able to take part in our productive system, which is made up of different kinds of business: from artisan firms to small and medium-sized companies, as far as industries.

45 PHOTOGRAPHY The two-year course for the achievement of the second-level university degree in photography aims at preparing professionals able to suggest innovative, original solutions in the field of analogue and digital photography. It also aims at managing all projects developing processes in the different professional fields as well as in the artistic-visual one. Several research moments will be dealt with: photography and design, photography and art, fashion, show business, industrial photography, manipulation of images, photography restoration, photography and cinematography.
