Visits to Milan Wednesday 6 July STORIE MILANESI TOUR - The city tells its story through living places The places where people have lived speak a language made of spaces, objects, gestures, knowledge of particular communicative impact, capable of narrating stories through the everyday life that unfolded in the rooms and in the city outside the windows. This everyday dimension might be domestic, of the family, but it could also be linked to professional life: there are so many stories lurking in a studio or an atelier, where an artist, an architect, a writer spent portions, or even the entirety, of a working existence. Milanese Stories accompanies travelers as they get acquainted with the city, seen through the eyes of those who in different times, social environments, neighborhoods and personalities have left behind a legacy of culture and knowledge for the city. All of them witnessed different historical periods that met with original interpretations and developments in Milan. The interplay of these historical, urban and professional characteristics permits exploration of the city starting from different vantage points, or more precisely from the different interests of the users of the site: by historical figures, by neighborhoods, or by historical periods. Milanese Stories takes visitors to the thresholds of home-museums, of artists studios, the workplaces of designers and architects (after the threshold, the museums take over the narrative), in a path through the city that reveals it, literally, as anything but commonplace.
