Carlo Maria Medaglia

Carlo Maria Medaglia Proessore presso La Sapienza Università di Roma Nato a Roma il 13/11/1974 Attività Accademica Carlo Maria Medaglia si è laureato in Fisica presso l Università di Roma La Sapienza nel 1999. Ha conseguito il suo dottorato di ricerca in telerilevamento presso il dipartimento di Scienza e tecnica dell Informazione e della Comunicazione della Facoltà di Ingegneria dell Università di Roma La Sapienza nel 2004. Dal 1999 ha lavorato presso numerosi centri di ricerca nazionali ed internazionali tra cui: l ISAC-CNR (Istituto di Scienze dell Atmosfera e del Clima), la NASA (National Atmospheric and Space Administration), l ESA (European Space Agency), la NOA (National Observatory of Athens) e la NOAA (National Oceanic and Admospheric Administration). Carlo Maria Medaglia è stato anche professore visitatore presso alcuni università americane, tra cui: l Università del Wisconsin-Madison, l università del Mariland Baltimore County e l università di Washington - Seattle. Attualmente è professore aggregato di Interfacce Contenuti e Servizi per le tecnologie interattive, Laboratorio di Interazione Uomo-Macchina, e Sistemi e Tecnologie per la Comunicazione presso Sapienza l università di Roma e collabora con enti pubblici (Agenzia delle Entrate, Agenzia delle Dogane, Ufficio Italia Brevetti e Marchi, Invitalia, PromuovItalia, Regione Lazio, Regione Abruzzo, Regione Lombardia, etc) ed aziende private (Finmeccanica, Telecom Italia, Engineering, Trenitalia, Thales, etc). Carlo Maria Medaglia è il coordinatore dei laboratori scientifici del CATTID della Sapienza Università di Roma (diretto dal Prof. Ugo Biader Ceipidor), che hanno come organico piu di 70 ricercatori. Ha piu di 120 articoli pubblicati su giornali internazionali e atti congressuali (Allegato A) ed e responsabile scientifico di numerosi progetti di ricerca europei (Allegato B). I suoi campi di ricerca principali sono: RFID e l Internet delle cose, Wireless e Mobile, tecnologie per la tracciabilità e l identificazione. E' membro del Collegio docenti del dottorato in Scienze dell' Informazione dell'università di Roma Tor Vergata e del dottorato di Interaction Design dell'isia Roma. E' anche stato responsabile del laboratorio congiunto tra l'università di Roma "La Sapienza" ed il MIBAC sulle tecnologie Innovative per la fruizione e la valorizzazione dei beni culturali. Carlo Maria Medaglia e' co-direttore del Joint Lab IDEACT del Consorzio Sapienza Innovazione ed e direttore scientifico del Laboratorio RFId e Wireless del Consorzio Roma Ricerche. Carlo Maria Medaglia e' membro dell'advisory Board della Fondazione Ericsson ed e responsabile dell area Innovazione e Ricerca del think thank GLOCUS. Carlo Maria Medaglia anno è chairman ed invited speaker di numerose conferenze sia a livello nazionale che internazionale. Carlo Maria Medaglia e' attualmente esperto e valutatore del Direttorato Generale per la Società dell'informazione (DG INFSO) della Commissione Europea sulle tematiche del RFID, dell'internet delle Cose, delle Smart Cities, dell'e-inclusion, della Digital Local Agenda e dell'ict per i beni culturali.

Incarichi Governativi Carlo Maria Medaglia e stato nel periodo 2006 2008 coordinatore per il CNIPA dei gruppi di lavoro sulle tecnologie wireless, sul RFID e sul mobile government. Sempre all interno del CNIPA e stato membro del nucleo che ha progettato e realizzato il Sistema Pubblico di Connettività. Carlo Maria Medaglia e stato membro della segreteria tecnica del Consigliere per le Nuove tecnologie Prof. Paolo Zocchi del Ministro degli Affari Regionali e delle Autonomie Locali, On. Linda Lanzillotta nell ultimo governo Prodi. Carlo Maria Medaglia e' stato membro della Cabina di Regia sul RFID del governo Italiano, della Commissione Interministeriale sull'accessibilità del software e della Commissione interministeriale sull'innovazione del Turismo nell ultimo governo Berlusconi. Carlo Maria Medaglia e attualmente all interno del Governo Monti: Consigliere del Ministro dell Istruzione, dell Universita e della Ricerca Prof. Francesco Profumo per l innovazione digitale nell istruzione scolastica ed universitaria, Membro della Cabina di Regia sull Agenda Digitale, esperto per i sistemi di trasporto intelligenti e per le nuove tecnologie del Sottosegretario di Stato Dott. Guido Improta. Attività Imprenditoriale Startupper della prima ora sia in Italia che in America, si occupa attivamente dei temi dell'imprenditorialità e del trasferimento tecnologico. E' co-fondatore della società di Advisor Tiber Capital Partners e dell'associazione Roma Startup. E' membro del Comitato di Investimenti del Fondo di Private Equity Orizzonte SGR.
