NUOVE LAMPADE 2017 - EUROLUCE E SPAZIO ESPERIENZE NEW LAMPS 2017 - EUROLUCE AND SPAZIO ESPERIENZE Questa collezione rappresenta per me una rinascita, intesa come un nuovo modo di avvicinarmi alla luce. Le nuove idee sono arrivate, come un dono, dopo un lungo periodo di gestazione, che è servito per rivalutare e riapprezzare la primordialità della mia esigenza di fare lampade. Da una parte la volontà di fare semplicemente una bellissima luce, dall altra la necessità di comunicare, costruendo racconti e metafore di luce. Ho cercato di fare tutto questo con semplicità, ma nello stesso tempo con creatività ed invenzione, aspetti che mi hanno sempre interessato e contraddistinto. Tra Oriente e Occidente. Davide Groppi Davide Groppi presenta i nuovi progetti nello stand a Euroluce e presso lo Spazio Esperienze, in uno spazio che suggerisce assonanze e parallelismi tra il suo mondo e quello del Funzionalismo Scandinavo, accostando le sue raffinate luci contemporanee a mobili e oggetti originali d epoca, provenienti dal Nord Europa. Il percorso tra le lampade esposte diventa così un viaggio alla scoperta di una matrice comune, basata su una progettualità saldamente legata ai concetti di semplicità, leggerezza, emozione e invenzione, ma anche a quella ricerca di alta qualità della vita applicata al quotidiano che ha reso straordinaria l estetica del design nordico. Quello di Davide Groppi è un percorso creativo nel quale forma e funzione sono unite da un legame di reciprocità. Nella sua semplicità, il design nordico offre sempre qualche tocco di genio, qualche intuizione che va oltre la forma puramente estetica, rendendolo immediatamente riconoscibile. Allo stesso modo, l elemento sorprendente, il guizzo originale, sono il fascino delle creazioni di Davide Groppi. Per prima arriva la luce, delicata e mai invasiva, capace di avvolgere ma anche di rendere atmosfere teatrali e solo dopo viene la curiosità di scoprire la sorgente di quella luce, la fonte che la rende possibile. Un altro legame con la razionale volontà di stupire attraverso la semplicità, così tipica del design nordico. Seguendo il filo conduttore della purezza e della funzionalità, si arriva ancora più lontano, fino a Oriente. Fino al Giappone. Dove la tradizione segue il solco dell essenzialità e delle forme pure, in un rimando di suggestioni che unisce culture solo apparentemente distanti. L eco del design Giapponese risuona spesso nei lavori di Davide Groppi per la pulizia, per l invenzione, per la purezza e per l approccio zen alla progettazione. È un filo conduttore sottile, ma saldo, lo stesso che lega il Giappone al Funzionalismo Scandinavo, due mondi lontani solo in apparenza. The ideas for these new lamps arrived as if by grace, after a long period of gestation. This period was necessary to be able to re-evaluate and appreciate more deeply the primordial aspect of my need to make lamps. On one hand, I would like simply to make beautiful light. On the other, I need to communicate using light, narrating stories and creating metaphors. I have done all this focusing on simplicity, but at the same time making use of creativity and a spirit of invention, which have always been a big part of my work and made it unique. Between East and West. Davide Groppi Davide Groppi is introducing his new lamp projects at Euroluce and at Spazio Esperienze. It is easy to see similarities between his vision and that of Scandinavian Functionalism. His elegant, modern lighting creations have been put side by side with Northern European furniture and memorabilia from that era. Moving from lamp to lamp becomes a kind of journey to find a common matrix between what lights and what is lit. It is based on design firmly anchored in simplicity, weightlessness, emotion and inventiveness, but it also involves the search for high quality living applied to daily life. This is what has made the aesthetics of Northern design so extraordinary. Davide Groppi has followed his creative intuition, uniting shape and functionality. In its simplicity, Northern design always offers a touch of genius, an intuition that goes beyond the purely aesthetic shape, making it immediately recognisable. In the same way, the element of surprise constitutes an important part of Davide Groppi s fascination. First the light arrives, delicate and never excessive. It wraps itself around things, giving them also a kind of theatrical touch. It is only after feeling these sensations that a person becomes curious about where the light is coming from, what has made all this possible. It is another example of the rational will to surprise through simplicity, which is very typical in Northern design. Following the leitmotiv of pureness and of functionality, one can arrive even further, all the way to Japan. There, tradition follows what is essential, what is absolutely pure in shape. It unites cultures that are only apparently distant. There is often an echo of Japanese design in Davide Groppi s work: his invention, pureness and Zen approach to conceiving his projects. It s a subtle leitmotiv, but solid; it s the same thing that ties Japan with Scandinavian Functionalism, two worlds that are distant only apparently. MORSETTO Design Davide Groppi, 2017 MORSETTO Un progetto pop. Oltre ad essere un perfetto utensile di luce, è anche un ready-made. L utilizzo di un grande e sproporzionato morsetto da officina, ci ha permesso di portare la fonte luminosa lontana dal punto di fissaggio attraverso tre bracci regolabili. Una lampada da tavolo, ma nello stesso tempo a sospensione, molto leggera. Una lampada che vola come un uccello nella foresta. Una lampada che si inclina, si bilancia, si gira, ma soprattutto che produce una bellissima luce sul tavolo. A pop project. Besides being a perfect lighting tool, it is also a ready-made or conceptual reinterpretation. Thanks to the support of a large lever clamp of the type you might find in a workshop, the light source has been positioned far from where the lamp is attached to the table, utilising three adjustable arms. Morsetto is a table lamp, but at the same time, it is also a very lightweight, suspended light. It s a lamp that appears to be in flight, like a bird in the forest. L adozione di una innovativa batteria ricaricabile al litio, collocata nella testa, ci ha permesso di rendere invisibile lo stelo. La testa appare leggera e sospesa nel vuoto mentre l effetto della luce sulla tavola è magico. HASHI Design Federico Delrosso, 2017 HASHI Hashi è una lampada da terra pensata per portare la luce d accento con purezza e flessibilità. La componente fondamentale di progetto è lo snodo che, grazie alla sua energica tenacia, permette di posizionare le bacchette (Hashi) creando un deciso segno grafico nello spazio. La particolare attenzione per le proporzioni rende il gesto molto libero, ma sempre equilibrato. Hashi is a floor lamp conceived to provide direct light in a simple and flexible manner. Its principle component is the pivot point between two chopsticks (Hashi) that serve as light sources. The two sticks can be positioned in different ways, creating a strong, graphic effect in space. Particular care has been given to the proportions. The sticks always appear lightweight and balanced. 12 W LED - 1000 lm
TOMOKO Design Amedeo G.Cavalchini con Noemi Lattanzio, 2017 TOMOKO Figlia del mattino. E il risultato di una lunga ricerca condotta su luce e benessere, e sui benefici della luce naturale riprodotta artificialmente. Un raggio di sole sembra penetrare nell ambiente da una finestra e posarsi casualmente sullo superficie della lampada da cui si irradia nello spazio circostante. Ruotando una manopola è possibile ricreare la luce solare nei diversi momenti dello giornata passando da luce fredda (5000K) simile a quella del sole nelle ore centrali dello giornata a luce calda (2000K) simile a quella del tramonto. Daughter of the morning. Tomoko is the result of lengthy research in the field of light and well-being and the benefits of natural light reproduced artificially. I progetti Infinito e Flash sono un sistema. Un sistema che smaterializza l oggetto lampada, trasformandolo in qualcos altro, lasciandone solo una traccia, una riga e poi nemmeno più quella, solo un concetto... solo la luce. E un omaggio all arte di Lucio Fontana e ai suoi concetti spaziali. Un nastro sottilissimo in metallo taglia lo spazio e produce luce indiretta e diretta. La forza grafica di questo sistema è sorprendente, per la sua capacità di essere integrato e nello stesso tempo presente nello spazio. The Infinito and Flash projects are all part of a system. It s a system that breaks down the actual lamp and light source, turning it into something else, leaving only a trace, a line and then not even that. It becomes, finally, a concept: light only. This project pays homage to the art of Lucio Fontana and his spatial concepts. A thin strip of metal cuts the space to produce indirect light and direct light. The graphic force of this system is surprising. It can be integrated into space, but at the same time it becomes part of that space.
INFINITO Design Davide Groppi, 2016 INFINITO Infinito è un concetto spaziale, è luce continua. Un nastro sottilissimo, in un particolare acciaio inossidabile e di soli 18 millimetri di larghezza, taglia lo spazio e produce luce indiretta. E possibile adattare, tendere e orientare Infinito da parete a parete, da soffitto a pavimento, fino a 12 metri di lunghezza. Infinito, essenza e assenza. Infinito is a spatial concept; it is continuous light. A thin strip made of stainless steel a mere 18 mm in width cuts the space to produce indirect light. It is possible to adapt Infinito to various situations, stretching it from wall to wall or ceiling to floor, according to one s taste or needs. It comes in strips up to 12 m in length.
