6 The Eco_Coop project A prototype for shop buildings to be developed, aiming to achieve at the same time: energy and water savings and the optimization of the life cycle of both materials and waste while reducing the environmental burdens and fostering the best welfare conditions of users and workers.

8 The building features Requalification of the. area, with a square, creating sidewalks and cycling path and green and public access to the railway station A monument dedicated to the underground press and to the press freemdom, restored by Coop 2 Murals created by a local artist together with students of the Bologna Accademy: Bandiera italiana and Parole della Cooperazione selected by the members Members Hall dedicated to volounteer s activities and to Environmental education Ventilation path for the natural recycling of the air Main entry under a wide porch facing directly the street to facilitate pedestrian viability and the relation with the city Roof prepared for installing additional photovoltaic system; numerous chimney s of light let in natural light; rainwater is collected and used for the irrigation of the green and for the toilets. Large windows favouring the natural light; curtains protect from solar radiation. A monitor, updated in real time, shows the environmental benefits generated Photovoltaic roof beneath which there are the charging station for cars/ bikes 8
