1 CORTO IMOLA FESTIVAL 2013 REGULATIONS / REGOLAMENTO 1 INTRODUCTION, AIMS AND PURPOSES Corto Imola Festival deals with short films, and will promote the competition, retrospectives and various related events. (1) OBIETTIVI E FINALITÀ Corto Imola Festival esplora lo sviluppo del cinema cortometraggio, attraverso il concorso, retrospettive ed eventi correlati. 2 PROMOTING AGENCIES Corto Imola Festival is organised by the Council of the Town of Imola, in collaboration with ST/ART s.c.r.l.,the Council for Culture of the Emilia Romagna Region, Province of Bologna. (2) ENTI PROMOTORI Corto Imola Festival è organizzato dal Comune di Imola, in compartecipazione con ST/ART s.c.r.l., con il contributo di Regione Emilia Romagna, Provincia di Bologna. 3 VENUE LOCATION AND DATES The Festival takes place in Imola, Italy, 13 th and 14 th December, Location is the Theatre Ebe Stignani, via Verdi 1, Imola. 2 - The Shortest day - Retrospectives - Appointments and special programs. (4) SEZIONI Il Festival si articolerà nelle seguenti sezioni: - Concorso Internazionale per cortometraggi - Concorso Imolese Harlem Shake - Il Giorno più Corto - Retrospettive - Appuntamenti e programmi speciali. 5 INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR SHORT FILMS Admission to the International Competition is reserved to short films of any country, completed after 30 th October 2012, realized in any format and any genre (animation, fiction, experimental, documentary). Submitted shorts must be no longer than 30 minutes. Exceptions will be considered by the unique and final judgement of the Festival Direction. Allowed screening formats are blu ray and dvd. Films expressly invited by the Festival Direction can participate in the Competition. Festival Direction can also reject those films which can not guarantee a good quality public screening. The Festival s Direction will award a prize of euro, appointed by the Festival s audience. (5) CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE DI CORTOMETRAGGI Possono partecipare al Concorso Internazionale per cortometraggi film provenienti da tutte le nazioni, terminati dopo il 30 ottobre 2012, girati in qualunque formato e di qualsiasi genere (animazione, fiction, sperimentale, documentario). I film non devono superare la durata di 30 minuti. Eccezioni possono essere considerate dalla Direzione del Festival, il cui giudizio è unico e indiscutibile. I formati di proiezione ammessi sono blu ray e dvd. Possono partecipare al Concorso film invitati espressamente dalla Direzione. La partecipazione al Festival può essere rifiutata a film tecnicamente non in grado di garantire una buona proiezione pubblica. La Direzione del Festival istituisce come unico premio, il Premio del Pubblico, del valore di 1.000,00 che verrà attribuito dal pubblico presente in sala. 6 ENTRY FOR THE COMPETITIONS PRE-SELECTION Registration is free. Short film and Entry Form completed in all its parts, accompanied by all required materials must be received by October 15, 2013 to the Festival Office. The holders of the works participating in the pre-selection of the International Competition of Short Films can send items in the following ways: Entry form must be submitted on line. Short Film could be sent with the following modalities Ordinary Mail or Courier: send the copy within October 15 th 2013 to: Corto Imola Festival, Via Mura di Porta Serrata 13, Ravenna (RA) ITALY; DVDs for pre-selection from countries not members of the European Union must be shipped with the following words: "for cultural purposes without commercial value" with a customs value of up to 1 USD. Every incorrect submission will be rejected. The shipping costs of all the materials must be covered by the participants. The festival will not pay any shipping charges and / or customs. ON LINE - by filling out the data in the entry-form that communicate the link for viewing on-line (using specific platforms such as Vimeo, or other), the password that has valid until 15 November 2013, the title and the name the Director (or the contact person, specifying the mail address of contact to refer) to: info@cortoimolafestival.it

3 (6) ISCRIZIONE PER LA PRE-SELEZIONE AI CONCORSI L iscrizione è gratuita. Il Cortometraggio e l Entry Form compilato in tutte le sue parti, corredato dal materiale informativo richiesto, devono pervenire entro e non oltre il 15 ottobre 2013 alla Segreteria del Festival. I titolari delle opere che intendono partecipare alla pre-selezione del Concorso Internazionale di Cortometraggi possono inviare il materiale con le seguenti modalità : L iscrizione va fatta tramite l entry-form on line. Il Cortometraggio può essere inviato con le seguenti modalità : Posta Ordinaria o Corriere: invio del materiale entro il 15 ottobre 2013 a: Corto Imola Festival Via Mura di Porta Serrata 13, Ravenna (RA) ITALY; I DVD per la pre-selezione provenienti da Paesi non appartenenti alla Comunità Europea devono essere spediti con la seguente dicitura: Per scopo culturale senza valore commerciale, con un valore doganale di massimo 1 USD. Ogni invio scorretto sarà rifiutato. Le spese di spedizione di tutti i materiali di selezione sono a carico dei partecipanti. Il festival non pagherà alcuna spesa di spedizione e/o di dogana. ON LINE - compilando i dati presenti nell entry-form che comunicano il link per la visione online (utilizzando le piattaforme specifiche quali Vimeo o altre ), la password che abbia validità fino al 15 Novembre 2013, il Titolo e il nominativo del Regista (o della persona da contattare, specificando la mail del Contatto a cui fare riferimento) a: info@cortoimolafestival.it 7 - HARLEM SHAKE COMPETITION Registration is free. (7) CONCORSO HARLEM SHAKE IMOLA L iscrizione è gratuita. Possono partecipare al Concorso Harlem Shake Imola solo le produzioni di autori Imolesi. L Harlem Shake e la Scheda d iscrizione compilata in tutte le sue parti, corredata dal materiale informativo richiesto, devono pervenire entro e non oltre il 15 ottobre 2013 alla Segreteria del Festival. Girate il vostro Harlem Shake e inviatelo, entro e non oltre il 15 ottobre 2013, SOLO ON LINE (utilizzando le piattaforme specifiche quali Vimeo o altre ) compilando i dati presenti nell entry-form che comunicano il link per la visione online, la password che abbia validità fino al 15 Novembre 2013, il nominativo del Regista (o della persona da contattare, specificando la mail del Contatto a cui fare riferimento) a: info@cortoimolafestival.it. Il Festival darà comunicazione dei video selezionati entro il 15 novembre 2013, via . Il vincitore finale sarà deciso dal pubblico, Corto Imola Festival mette in palio un premio di 300 euro.

4 8 ADMITTED FILMS AND SHIPMENT OF COPIES The Festival will give final communications about the admitted films by within November 15 th, All films, either admitted to the competition or invited to the Festival, must be accompanied by the full documentation comprised of the following materials: - Full and detailed technical information sheet - Full dialogue list both in the original language and translated in English - Synopsis - Biofilmography of the director - Set of 5 stills with a minimum format of 300 dpi, and a picture of the director (via , or on dvd/cd) - A statement about the film writed by the Director - Any other possible promotional material (posters, brochures, press kits) All copies of the selected films are requested to reach the Festival by November 30 th, Beyond that day, films will be rejected by competition and programme. Expeditions shall bear in attachment a copy of the entry form indicating the sender's name, the title, the duration and the format of the film. (8) FILM AMMESSI AL CONCORSO E TRASPORTO COPIE Il Festival darà comunicazione finale sui film selezionati entro il 15 novembre 2013, via . Tutte le opere ammesse al Concorso o comunque invitate al festival, devono essere corredate da una completa documentazione composta di: - scheda tecnica completa e dettagliata - lista completa dei dialoghi in lingua originale e traduzione in inglese (esclusi i film parlati in lingua italiana) - sinossi - biofilmografia del regista - una serie di almeno 5 fotografie nel formato minimo 300 dpi e una foto del regista (via , o su dvd/cd) - una dichiarazione del regista sul film - eventuale altro materiale promozionale (poster, brochure, press-kit). Le copie dei film selezionati devono arrivare presso la sede del festival entro il 30 novembre Oltre tale data, i film saranno esclusi dal concorso e dalla programmazione. Ogni spedizione dovrà essere accompagnata da una copia della scheda d iscrizione, con il nome del mittente, il titolo del film, il formato, la durata. 9 FREIGHT AND INSURANCE COSTS Sending cost must be paid by the owner of the film, the return shipping charges will be covered by the Festival. The return of copies admitted to the competition shall be carried out within three weeks after the end of the Festival. Copies will be dispatched to the address indicated in the entry form. Any changes in return addresses for the copies shall be accepted provided that these are communicated by November 30th The Festival shall not cover freight insurance costs. In case of loss or damage of the copy, the insurance shall only refund the duplication cost of the copy at the current Italian duplication fees. (9) COSTI DI SPEDIZIONE E ASSICURAZIONE I costi di spedizione delle copie dei video verso il Festival sono a carico dell autore mentre la restituzione sarà a carico del Festival. La restituzione delle opere ammesse al concorso sarà effettuata entro tre settimane dalla chiusura del Festival. Le copie saranno spedite all indirizzo segnalato sulla scheda d iscrizione. Saranno accettati cambiamenti dell'indirizzo di restituzione della copia solo se comunicati entro il 30 Novembre Il trasporto non è a rischio del festival.

5 In caso di perdita o di danneggiamento della copia, l assicurazione si limita a coprire il costo della duplicazione della copia secondo le tariffe vigenti in Italia. 10 SCREENING OF FILMS The Festival Direction decides on the schedule and timetable of the screening. Foreign films shall be screened in the original version with Italian subtitles. The Festival Direction shall publish a general catalogue of the presented works. (10) PROIEZIONE DEI FILM Il calendario e gli orari delle proiezioni sono di competenza della Direzione. I film stranieri saranno presentati in versione originale con sottotitoli in italiano. La Direzione del Festival pubblicherà un catalogo generale delle opere presentate. 11 GENERAL PROVISIONS AND CHALLENGES Entry and participation to the Festival shall imply full acceptance of the present regulation and entry form. The Festival Direction reserves the right to take final decisions as to any exception not envisaged in the present regulation. In case of litigation, the Court of Ravenna shall be competent. The present regulation is laid down both in Italian and in English. In case of interpretation problems, the Italian version shall prevail. (11) DISPOSIZIONI GENERALI E CONTESTAZIONI L iscrizione e la partecipazione al Festival implica l accettazione completa del presente regolamento e della scheda d iscrizione. Per ogni eccezione non rientrante nel presente regolamento la Direzione del Festival si riserva il diritto di assumere decisioni definitive. In caso di contestazione, sarà competente il Foro di Ravenna. Il presente regolamento è redatto in italiano e inglese. In caso di problemi interpretativi fa fede la versione italiana.
