Question 9 (10 marks) Alberto Ciao ragazzi, sapete che cosa è successo a scuola mia lunedì? Una ventina di cretini ha formato un gruppo in Internet per prendere in giro il mitico prof. Rossi. A scuola si parla tanto dell uso corretto di Internet però quando il preside lo ha saputo, ha punito solo l organizzatore e lo ha espulso dalla scuola. Secondo me sono tutti responsabili e dovrebbero tutti rispondere delle loro azioni. Isabella Questi ragazzi hanno sbagliato, è vero e dovrebbero essere puniti perché quello che hanno fatto è inaccettabile in una società civile. Il preside ha cacciato il responsabile dalla scuola e secondo me non è così che lui imparerà a comportarsi correttamente. È proprio a scuola invece che bisognerebbe insegnare agli studenti a non umiliare nessuno, tantomeno una persona rispettata. È facile volere scherzare ma online bisogna stare attenti. Alessandra Ma dai Alberto, vuoi espellere una ventina di studenti per un commento scherzoso in Internet? Per quello che so ha fatto ridere tutti, compreso il prof. Rossi! Il tuo preside è stato troppo severo. A scuola mia c è stato un episodio simile tra due ragazze ma nessuno ci ha fatto caso. Cioè, voglio dire che questo tipo di comportamento nella nostra scuola viene ignorato completamente e quindi gli scemetti che magari vorrebbero farlo non sono incoraggiati. Io penso che ci siano altri modi di affrontare questo problema. Non come ha fatto il tuo preside! Alberto Io sono d'accordo con te Isabella, lezioni di comportamento dopo scuola sono la punizione perfetta per questi m a l educati!

6 Question 10 (15 marks) I giovani e la politica, una prospettiva interculturale Abbiamo scelto queste due lettere ricevute dal nostro giornale in risposta a un nostro articolo della settimana scorsa su questo tema. Ve le proponiamo perché riflettono gli atteggiamenti di due giovani in due contesti culturali diversi. Le abbiamo scelte anche perché entrambi dimostrano un certo livello di sensibilità verso la politica. Caro Direttore, io, ragazzo australiano, come la maggior parte dei miei coetanei, finora non ho mai pensato alla politica. La politica non è certamente un argomento di dibattito durante un BBQ in famiglia! Anche a scuola è un argomento tabù e i professori non ne parlano liberamente. Il mio giro di amici è vario. Per lo più se ne fregano, pensano ad altro e vanno avanti nell ignoranza più completa. Adesso che ho quasi 18 anni, mi tocca votare e capisco che questa è una grande responsabilità. Sono cosciente del fatto che il mio futuro sarà condizionato dalle scelte dei politici e quindi ho iniziato a fare uno studio approfondito sui partiti. Sto anche cercando di raccogliere opinioni di altri per essere un cittadino ben informato prima delle elezioni. Noi giovani dovremmo renderci conto che le decisioni prese dai politici oggi, avranno sicuramente conseguenze sulla nostra vita e sul nostro pianeta domani. Sono contento di avere intrapreso questo cammino e spero di contagiare altri con il mio entusiasmo. Insieme possiamo fare la differenza! Egregio Direttore, sono una ragazza italiana, da pochi giorni in Australia per una breve vacanza. Quando sono a casa, la politica fa decisamente parte della mia vita quotidiana. Basta accendere la TV. Ogni giorno siamo bombardati dai messaggi dei politici! Purtroppo a volte diventa pure noioso perché parlano tanto, ma non trovano le soluzioni ai vari problemi che affliggono l Italia. Io frequento l ultimo anno e recentemente la mia scuola ha partecipato ad una manifestazione contro le inaccettabili nuove riforme scolastiche. Roma è andata in tilt! C erano migliaia di alunni per le strade con striscioni multicolori contro il Ministero dell Istruzione. So che ci hanno notati, ma non mi aspetto certo un risultato concreto. Da giovane italiana non posso comunque permettermi di ignorare i politici perché affronto le consequenze delle loro decisioni ogni giorno. Il mese scorso, per esempio, ho aspettato più di un'ora alla fermata dell autobus perché c era uno sciopero improvviso dei mezzi pubblici. Abito in periferia ed è difficile arrivare in centro quando i mezzi funzionano, figuriamoci quando ci sono gli scioperi!! Sono arrivata a scuola quasi alla fine delle lezioni! E poi basta ascoltare i nostri genitori e le loro lamentele. Parlano sempre delle pesantissime tasse che il Governo ha imposto e mi sento ripetere in continuazione che non ci sono soldi! Io e i miei amici discutiamo animatamente tra di noi sui problemi dell'italia anche in un contesto europeo di crisi economica mondiale. Il nostro scopo è di proporre soluzioni a problemi piccoli e grandi del nostro pianeta che la nostra generazione deve affrontare, anche se sappiamo in partenza che non saremo ascoltati. 6

Qui in Australia e in altri paesi, ci sono tante persone di origine italiana che la parlano e tante che la imparano per piacere personale o per lavoro. L italiano è internazionale, come si fa ad apprezzare la musica e la letteratura italiane senza conoscere la lingua? Louise_92: Che senso ha studiarlo se si parla solo in Italia?! Io lo studio per potere comunicare meglio con i miei nonni e i miei cugini in Italia. Insomma, per me è soprattutto un esigenza personale e familiare. Non so veramente quanto può essere interessante studiare l italiano se uno non ha forti motivazioni personali. Forse dovrei pensare all italiano come a un modo di migliorare il mio inglese. Cerco di capire questo: come funziona e come si usa una lingua straniera? Come può aiutarmi a migliorare la mia? Please turn over 7
