1 ENROLMENT PROCEDURE FOR INCOMING STUDENTS ACADEMIC YEAR 2015/2016 Version 02 dated This procedure is addressed to international students spending a study period at the University of Torino during the academic year 2015/2016, as part of the Erasmus+ programme or in the frame of specific exchange programmes with our Departments. Please carefully read ALL the instructions and information regarding the procedures and carry out ALL the administrative steps requested. NOTE: This procedure must NOT be followed by: 1) Students taking part in a double degree programme (laurea binazionale), who should directly contact the Secretariat of the related Department in Torino in order to be registered. These students will namely be registered as properly enrolled students and not as exchange students. Only students taking part in a double degree programme at the School of Management and Economics should instead fill in the online Application Form. 2) Students coming to Torino for Traineeship in the frame of the Erasmus+ Programme, who should not fill in the Application Form, but send an to [email protected] in order to receive instructions about their mobility period. Application Form As first step, each student must carry out an online registration. In order to complete the Application Form, please follow step by step the instructions available in this document from page 3 onwards. Please note that in order to receive the confirmation of acceptance as incoming student at the University of Torino, the International Mobility Office must have received the student s nomination by ([email protected]) from the University of origin. The deadlines for filling in the Application Form for the academic year 2015/2016 are: - 31/07/2015 for students arriving in the first semester or for the whole academic year; - 30/11/2015 for students arriving in the second semester. The data supplied will be the official reference to contact each student and to produce the documents related to the exchange programme. For this reason it is recommended to complete the Application Form carefully. Once the application form deadlines have passed, each student, properly registered, will receive further information concerning the exchange programme in Torino; for example, regarding the free Italian language courses and the orientation meetings for incoming students. 2 The confirmation of the administrative enrolment at the University of Torino can be sent to students even after the above mentioned deadlines, following the check of the Application Form by the International Mobility Office. Study programme in Torino (Learning Agreement) The International Mobility office (Ufficio Mobilità Internazionale) is NOT in charge of the approval of the Learning Agreement. This document must be directly agreed upon by the related Department in Torino. The name and contact details of the professor in charge of approving the learning agreement are specified in the application form as Departmental Coordinator. Please note that for some Departments (mainly Medicine and Surgery area) or in the case of special study projects (internships and thesis researches) it is necessary to verify the study plan with the Italian professor in charge of the bilateral agreement BEFORE arriving in Torino. Please note that lessons at the University of Torino are usually in Italian language and exams should mostly be taken in Italian as well. Students interested in taking the exams in other languages must check with the professor of each course if they are allowed to. Orientation meetings and enrolment at the University of Torino The Erasmus office organises orientation meetings recommended to all incoming international students. During the orientation meetings, students: 1) are informed about the University services and procedures to be followed during the mobility period (Italian language courses, Learning Agreement, procedures for taking exams, extension procedures, etc); 2) can find useful information concerning their stay in Torino. Before the beginning of the first semester students with their Application Form properly completed, will receive via the schedule of the meetings planned from mid-september to the beginning of October Information about meetings planned for the second semester will be provided after 30/11/2015. Free Italian language courses for incoming students The University of Torino offers all Erasmus and international students free 40-hours Italian language courses. The courses start at the beginning of each semester and are divided into 3 levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced. The timetable of the first semester will be available in mid-september and it will be forwarded to all students who will have their Application Form properly completed. 5 In order to fill in the Application Form in English language, click on REGISTRATION FOR FOREIGN USERS Insert your personal data in the form. WARNING: the password you enter in this form is the password to be used to log-in in MyUnito and will be necessary to complete your application form and manage all procedures during your mobility period. THEREFORE PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS PASSWORD. Make sure you enter a valid and active address, as it will be used to confirm your registration and continue your online application form.
