The AWO Nordhessen is dealing with different social and care sectors. The focal point of our offer consists in taking care of elderly people. In Nordhessen we provide and support elderly people in different situations of life with about 30 institutions for in- and out-patients. Our care centers are professional services for geriatric and gerontology which are specialized in reacting to the needs of old and multiply ill persons. These are people with diseases typical for their age and disabilities; but to a great part also persons with psychological diseases and different forms of dementia. The work in our institutions has therefore a profile strongly concentrated on social care. Working with these persons is a challenge. In the Nordhessen region we run 5 caring schools for health professions. We offer further education concerning questions into geriatric and social gerontology to interested persons coming from the European neighbor countries. For the foreign professional staff we have specific education offers which should make it easier to understand and find into working in our institutions. You can apply if You are a professional with a minimum of a 3-year training usually these are nurses in all European countries.. We help you with the acceptance of the diploma according to German law. The employment is lined up with the standard wages valid for the AWO Nordhessen. No commission payment is charged. Usually the work contracts are at first limited to 2 years.
