LEGEND UPDATE GUIDE INSTALLING LEGEND UPDATE The Legend series firmware is upgradable via PC. You must first download the Legend Update application from http://www.instruments.com. NB Legend Update is a compatible Windows application that can be used with XP and later versions, up to Win10. It is not compatible with other operating systems. Download and save the "Viscount Legend Update Setup vx.x.x.x.exe" file (where X.X.X.X is the version of the application) on the PC with which you want to update your Legend, then click on the icon of the file itself to install it. A window will appear as follows: Click on the "Next" button to start the installation and follow the instructions on the various screens: 1
When the above window is displayed, the installation is completed. 2
CONNECTING THE LEGEND TO PC To connect the Legend you want to upgrade to your PC, use a USB cable with A / B connectors. Then plug the type A connector into one of your computer's USB ports and the type B connector to the [USB TO HOST] connector on the rear of the Legend. Type A connector Type B connector IMPORTANT NOTE! Please ALWAYS follow this sequence of operations for the successful completion of the Legend update procedure: 1) Connect the instrument to the personal computer with the USB cable. 2) Start the instrument in the update mode as described below. 3) Start the Legend Update application on the PC. STARTING THE APPLICATION AND UPDATING THE INSTRUMENT While holding down the button: - [REVERB POST/PRE] in the Legend - [REVERB HALL/SPRING] in Legend Live - [UPPER] in Legend Solo turn on the instrument using the [POWER] switch on the rear panel. Each front panel button LED flashes four times, then the red ones are switched on to confirm that the update mode is activated. Start the Legend Update application by clicking on the icon Legend Update entry from the Windows Start menu. or the Viscount / Legend / Viscount The following screen is displayed: 3
Click on the "Browse" button and select the Legend update file, that has an.lpu extension. If instead of "Browse to select update file", were shown "Restart your organ in update mode and connect to your computer with a USB cable", this means that the application failed to establish a connection with the instrument, so check that: - the instrument has been turned on in update mode (the red LEDs on the panel buttons are on) - the instrument is connected to the PC - the USB cable is not damaged Click on the "Update" button to start the update, during which you will see "Updating. Do not disconnect or turn off the power" and a green progress bar shows the progress of the installation. When finished, you will see: Turn the organ off and back on again" that tells you to turn the instrument off and on again. 4
GUIDA PER L AGGIORNAMENTO DEGLI STRUMENTI LEGEND INSTALLAZIONE DELL APPLICAZIONE LEGEND UPDATE Il firmware degli strumenti della serie Legend è aggiornabile tramite PC. E dapprima necessario scaricare dal sito http://www.instruments.com l applicazione Legend Update. NB Legend Update è un applicazione Windows compatibile, utilizzabile con le versioni XP e successive. Non è compatibile con altri sistemi operativi. Una volta memorizzato nel PC con il quale si desidera aggiornare il proprio Legend il file Viscount Legend Update Setup vx.x.x.x.exe, dove X.X.X.X indica la versione dell applicazione, cliccare sopra l icona del file stesso per installarla. La prima finestra visualizzata è la seguente: Cliccare ora sul pulsante Next per avviare l installazione e seguire le istruzioni riportate dalle varie schermate: 5
Alla visualizzazione della finestra di cui sopra l installazione risulta completata. 6
COLLEGAMENTO DEL LEGEND AL PC Per collegare lo strumento che si desidera aggiornare al vostro PC utilizzare un cavo USB con connettori di tipo A e B. Inserire quindi il connettore tipo A in una delle porte USB del vostro computer ed il connettore tipo B nella presa [USB TO HOST] presente nel pannello posteriore del Legend. Si prega di seguire SEMPRE questa sequenza di operazioni al fine della corretta riuscita dell aggiornamento del Legend: 1) Collegare lo strumento al personal computer. 2) Avviare lo strumento in modalità aggiornamento come descritto di seguito. 3) Avviare l applicazione Legend Update. AVVIO DELL APPLICAZIONE E AGGIORNAMENTO DELLO STRUMENTO Tenendo premuto il pulsante: - [REVERB POST/PRE] nel Legend - [REVERB HALL/SPRING] nel Legend Live - [UPPER] nel Legend Solo accendere lo strumento tramite l apposito interruttore [POWER] presente nel pannello posteriore. Tutti i led dei pulsanti del pannello frontale lampeggiano quattro volte, dopodichè vengono accesi quelli rossi a conferma del richiamo della modalità di update. Avviare l applicazione Legend Update cliccando sull icona oppure la voce Viscount / Legend / Viscount Legend Update del menu Start di Windows. Viene visualizzata la seguente schermata: 7
Cliccare ora sul pulsante Browse e selezionare il file di aggiornamento degli strumenti della serie Legend, il file ha estensione.lpu. Qualora al posto della dicitura Browse to select update file, venisse visualizzato Restart your organ in update mode and connect to your computer with a USB cable, ciò sta a significare che l applicazione non è riuscita a stabilire un collegamento con lo strumento, pertanto verificare che: - lo strumento sia stato acceso in modalità update (vengono accesi i led rossi dei pulsanti a pannello - lo strumento sia collegato al PC - il cavo USB non sia danneggiato Cliccare sul pulsante Update per avviare l aggiornamento, durante il quale viene visualizzata la dicitura Updating. Do not disconnect or turn off the power ed una barra di progressione verde mostra l avanzamento dell installazione. Al termina dell operazione viene invece visualizzata la schermata: informando inoltre di spegnere e riaccendere lo strumento. 8
