Question 3 (15 marks) Read the extract from the novel, Jack Frusciante è uscito dal gruppo, then answer in ENGLISH the questions that follow. E io: No, no, no. Giuro. No, no, no, davvero, ve lo direi, giuro. Promesso? Promesso, certo. Explain the meaning of this remark in Alex s diary. Marks 2 Question 3 continues on page 13 12

Question 3 (continued) Marks (b) Comment on the significance of Alex s statement: ho giurato a me stesso che non gli avrei mai mostrato la lettera, ai parens. 3 (c) Comment on Alex s attitude to Martino as displayed in the last paragraph of this excerpt. 4 Question 3 continues on page 14 13

Question 3 (continued) Marks (d) By the end of this extract, Alex demonstrates emotional growth in his relationship with others. Do you agree? In your answer, refer to this extract and ONE other extract you have studied. End of Question 3 14 Board of Studies NSW 2007 6

In your answer you will be assessed on how well you: demonstrate an understanding of the prescribed text write in Italian for a specific context Question 4 (10 marks) Read the extract from the novel, Jack Frusciante è uscito dal gruppo, then answer the question that follows. Write approximately 200 words in ITALIAN. Imagine you are Alex. Write a letter in response to Aidi s letter. 391c 15
