How to use the WPA2 encrypted connection At every Alohawifi hotspot you can use the WPA2 Enterprise encrypted connection (the highest security standard for wireless networks nowadays available) simply using the same ticket you got for the open network. This guide shows how to set up a WPA2 connection using Windows Vista and Linux Ubuntu 10.4.
1. Connect to the WPA2 encrypted network Alohawifi Search for the available wifi networks and select the protected network alohawifi (SSID). Linux Ubuntu:
Windows Vista: 2. Set up WPA2 Enterprise connection Using a modern operating system of your choice, after selecting the alohawifi protected network, the WPA2 Enterprise connection will be automatically detected and the most important parameters will be already correctly filled in the next configuration windows the operating system will show you. You will have to complete them, simply inserting the "User name" and "Password". The first field corresponds to the ticket number and the second one to the password associated to it.
Some operating systems like Linux Ubuntu show all the configuration parameters in a single window and ask for a single step in order to complete the encrypted connection procedure. Windows Vista requires 4 different steps instead. Linux Ubuntu:
Windows Vista: 1. Click on "Enter/select additional log on information" ("Immettere o selezionare informazioni di accesso aggiuntive")
2. Insert "User name" and "Password" leaving the "Domain" field empty
3. Click again on "Enter/select additional log on information" ("Immettere o selezionare informazioni di accesso aggiuntive")
4. Click on "OK" at server certificate validation
4 bis. To achieve maximum security, you can optionally check the server certificate validity clicking on "View server certificate" ("Visualizza certificato server"). In the certificate summary you must see: "Issued to" ("Rilasciato a") "" and "Issued by" ("Rilasciato da") "Equifax Secure Certificate Authority". 3. Save wifi connection s configuration If you plan to use your ticket again in the future, you may wish to save the connection s configuration.
In order to save the connection s configuration using Windows Vista select "Save this network" ("Salva questa rete") and "Start this connection automatically" ("Avvia questa connessione automaticamente").
