12 L opinione dei referee La nostra impressione sul piano di upgrade di MEG è decisamente positiva. Ci pare che siano stati individuati i punti critici che attualmente limitano la sensibilità, e che le soluzioni proposte siano praticabili sia dal punto di vista tecnico che finanziario. Abbiamo ovviamente qualche dubbio: innanzitutto il piano che prevede la prima presa dati nel 2015 ci pare molto aggressivo. Abbiamo anche qualche perplessità sulla futura divisione di responsabilità sul calorimetro, in particolare per quel che concerne le calibrazioni. Crediamo la cosa vada chiarita in un MOU. Ad ogni modo, dal nostro punto di vista, le luci sono verdi. Dal punto di vista finanziario, proponiamo di accantonare 500 K, che serviranno, previa approvazione del CTS e ulteriore discussione in commissione, per finanziare la seconda fase dell R&D e l inizio della costruzione del rivelatore.
