È vietato lavorare in presenza di tensione elettrica. È vietato installare il modulo accanto ad apparecchi che generano calore. RIMOZIONE: 1) Tirare verso l esterno ogni gancio a lato del modulo facendo leva con un cacciavite. ) Aperti tutti i ganci estrarre il modulo dalla guida delicatamente. È importante inserire correttamente l IDC10 sul bus Z-PC-DIN in quanto è polarizzato. L inserimento è agevolato dalla presenza di un inserzione maschio/femmina tra connettore IDC 10 e slot su guida DIN (Fig 1c e Fig 1d). P.E. (AC+) (AC-) P.E. 5 6.0 COLLEGAMENTI ELETTRICI Fig. 6.1 Alimentazione Assicurarsi che il modulo sia spento prima di procedere con qualsiasi operazione. Per alimentare il modulo è necessario usare una tensione compresa tra Vac, o compresa tra Vdc attraverso il morsetto e il morsetto 3. 3 La connessione RS8 è disponibile attraverso il morsetto 10 (ground), 11 (A) e 1 (B) per la porta. 1 In alternativa l alimentazione può essere data attraverso il connettore posteriore IDC10, nel caso in cui si utilizzi lo Z-PC-DINAL. 6. In alternativa la seriale RS8 può essere data attraverso il connettore posteriore IDC10, nel caso in cui si utilizzi lo Z-PC- DINAL (per la porta 1). 6 7.0 CONFIGURAZIONE E IMPOSTAZIONI 7.1 Dip-Switch In tutte le tabelle seguenti l indicazione corrisponde a DIP-switch in 1 (ON); nessuna indicazione corrisponde a DIP-switch in 0 (OFF) BAUD RATE BAUD RATE 1 RS8 #1 3 RS8 # BAUD RATE from: EEprom not used DIP-switches Parametri fissi da dip-switch: DATA: 8 bit, PARITY NONE, 1 STOP bit Per entrambe le porte RS8, i parametri di default sono: 3800 baud, 8N1 (da EEPROM). IMPORTANTE: il singolo dip-switch SW posizionato alla destra del switch numero 8 deve rimanere sempre in posizione ON! SW Default SEMPRE ON 7. Easy SETUP I tool di programmazione e/o configurazione del prodotto (Easy setup) possono essere s c a r i c a t i g r a t u i t a m e n t e d a l s i t o w w w. s e n e c a. i t. Per evitare conflitti di indirizzo, nella modalità di funzionamento «Connesso a porta 1 e RS8», è vietato collegare due moduli slave su RS8 a IDC10 o a morsettiera con lo stesso indirizzo Modbus. 7.3 Indirizzo IP di default L indirizzo IP di default del modulo è statico: Per modificare l indirizzo IP, mask e gateway o per attivare il DHCP usare il software di configurazione Easy Setup (scaricabile gratuitamente dal sito ).

7 8.0 ESEMPIO APPLICATIVO Nella figura seguente è descritto un esempio applicativo del modulo. In questo esempio, i due PC rappresentano ciascuno un client (server Modbus TCP-IP), al quale è abbinata una porta TCP-IP. Condizione di default: - porte 0, 0, 06, 08 Modbus TCP-IP abbinate alla porta 1 Modbus RTU (RS8 su connettore IDC10), - porte 03, 0, 07, 09 Modbus TCP-IP abbinate alla porta Modbus RTU (RS8 su morsetti). Al router è possibile collegare dispositivi HMI o altri PC per interrogare gli slave Modbus RTU.

No operation on the module is allowed while it is power on. REMOVAL 1) Pull the four latchs (placed in the backside panel) outwards, using a screwdriver; ) pull out the module gently. It s important to insert the pins on the slot correctly because IDC10-connector is polarized; this connection is facilitied by use of a female/male insertion between IDC10 connector and DIN rail slot (Fig 1c and Fig 1d). 13 6.0 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS Fig. 6.1 Make sure that the module is power off before executing any operations. To power the module is necessary to use a voltage between Vac or between Vdc through the terminal and terminal Alternatively power supply can be provided through the rear connector IDC10, for Z-PC- DINAL bus. The RS8 serial communication port is available on the screw terminals 10 (ground),11 (A) e 1 (B). 6. RS 8 Fig. 3 For the maximum performances it s recommended to use a specific shielded cable. Alternatively RS8 can be provided through the rear connector IDC10, for Z-PC-DINAL bus (port 1). Fig. Ethernet RJ B (-) A (+) 6.3 Ethernet Ethernet communication port with RJ it s used to connect by the PC. Communication velocity up to 100 Mbit / s, with Modbus TCP-IP protocol. Web server: module configuration by Ethernet port. USB port with mini-b plug-in for a easy PC connection. This port allows to use the Easy setup configuration software to configure the module or update firmware (free download from Fig. 6. USB USB mini-b

14 7.0 CONFIGURATION AND SETTINGS 7.1 Dip-Switch In the following tables: box without circle means Dip-Switch=0 (OFF state); box with circle means Dip-Switch=1 (ON state). IMPORTANT: the dip-switch SW placed at the right of the switch number 8 must be always in position ON! SW Default ALWAYS ON 7. Easy SETUP The configuration software (Easy setup) can be free donwloaded from the website To avoid address conflicts, in the functioning modality «Connected to the port 1 and RS8», it is forbidden to connect two slave modules to RS8 (both IDC10 and terminals) with the same Modbus address. The default IP address of is static: To modify IP address, mask and gateway use the Easy Setup software. 7.3 IP address

15 8.0 APPLICATION EXAMPLE In the following figure an application example about is shown. In this example, each PC identify a client (server Modbus TCP-IP), to which is referred a TCP- IP port. Default condition: - Modbus TCP-IP ports number 0, 0, 06, 08 are combined with the Modbus RTU port 1 (RS8 via IDC10 connector), - Modbus TCP-IP port number 03, 0, 07, 09 are combined with the Modbus RTU port (RS8 via terminals). It is possible to connect to the router HMI devices or other PCs to query the Modbus RTU slaves.
