With its 6 band processing design, it features the most up-to-date architecture and technologies. > SOUND: Falcon 15 is a 3 band audio processor and stereo enhancer plus a wide band AGC. Falcon Five and Five Élite are 5 band audio processor able to shape the station s sound exalting its charisma and providing appeal and distinctive colors to each single program, music or time-slots. Falcon 50 delivers full impact sound at the highest volume density preserving original audio detail, identity and mood. Falcon 50 maximizing your FM bandwidth, by sensing and processing differences between right and left. > MPX+RDS: Falcon 15, Falcon Five and Five Élite, Falcon 50 are provided with a precision MPX Coder, that make easy on air operation. All settings are via software, and no trimmer must be set. Dual MPX composite out available. The audio clipper gives the broad caster the maximum on air level, but always in the law respects, RDS and RBDS radio data system are available on option and give the broadcaster lot of RDS services. All the data settings can be managed through a dedicated software, via serial, satellite and Ethernet connection. Internal RDS encoder features all the basic and/or dynamic RDS services. 154

All functions are built-in, the console features 3 micro inputs and 9 stereo inputs and 2 telephone hybrids. Mono and stereo modules feature selectable double inputs and tone band control (optional). All family models are fully digital, they use only high quality components like A/D and D/A 24 bit converters and numerical processing at 32 bit. The versions available are: > RDS Coder basic model without display (TRDS 4002-LUXOR-B) > RDS Coder with display (TRDS 7002) > RDS Coder + STEREO Coder with display (TRDS 7004) The RDS coder with display version has the same functions as the basic model plus the possibility of managing the programming of the equipment through display and encoder without the use of PC. The STERO coder + RDS version has the same functions as the RDS coder with display plus the R&L audio and analogical SCA input section, as well as the digital optical and feeder inputs with S:R:C. The stereo coding is realised digitally as are the input low-pass and the pre-emphasis. The SCA inputs are mixed in analogical form with passband of over 100KHz. All functioning and programming parameters are managed through encoder and display present on the equipment or through dedicated software. The equipment firmware can be updated through serial port without the need of hardware settings and without interruption of the service. 162

It is equipped with distress change-over system between any input with adjustable thresholds and intervention times, both during the change-over on secondary source and of return on primary source. Automatic switch-off of the RDS carrier in case of no audio signal on selected sources. The mono digital and analogical audio inputs are equipped with preemphasis and low-pass at 15KHz, very low over-shoot clipper and clutter products as well as AGC with adjustable threshold, gain and intervention times. RDS carrier is also generated with fully digital technology able to guarantee very high modulation quality and spectral purity. The coder also supports all the more diffused RDS services, including TMC, TDC, IH and EWS. All AUDIO and RDS parameters can be amended through encoder and display (2X40) located on front panel, or through provided software. Through the software it is possible to save on file both the RDS data and the AUDIO parameters that will be needed to program the equipment. The programming of the RDS parameters can also be carried out through any UECP-SPB490 compatible software or by using the provided software (obviously UECP-SPB490 compatible). The equipment firmware can be updated through serial port without the need of hardware settings and without interruption of the service. Two independent outputs that can be configured to supply different signals and levels, for example, output 1 can supply the mono+rds signal and output 2 only RDS signal. 166

The audio inputs balanced at high level of rejection to common disturbances (CMRR greater by 70 db from 20 Hz to 15 khz) are filtered against the Radio Frequency disturbances and protected against common and differential quick disturbances. The two MPX outputs, each with level control and independent buffers, can pilot loads up to 50 Ohm, maintaining the stereo separation at excellent levels. The highly sensitive Vu-Meter (20 LED each) allows an accurate measurement of the input audio levels and of the subcarriers SCA and RDS. The SDC100 RVR stereophonic coder is also equipped with a switching power supplier able to supply the current necessary to pilot 2 loads of 50 Ohm, whereas the subdivision of the masses (audio and frame) comes from phenomenons of mass loops. It is possible to insert the Clipper circuit through jumper. Caratteristiche Il coder stereofonico SDC100 RVR è un codificatore stereofonico di elevate prestazioni, separazione stereo maggiore di 65 db e rapporto S/N maggiore di 80 Db. Gli ingressi audio bilanciati ad alto livello di reiezione ai disturbi di modo comune (CMRR maggiore di 70 db da 20 Hz a 15 khz) sono filtrati contro le interferenze di Radio Frequenza e protetti contro i disturbi veloci di modo comune e differenziali. Le due uscite MPX ognuna con controllo di livello e buffer indipendenti, possono pilotare carichi fino a 50 Ohm mantenendo la separazione stereo ad ottimi livelli. Discovery allows automatically changing over from a satellite main audio channel to a reserve analog audio channel in order to avoid audio black-out. Discovery is extremely useful for those systems where one or more satellite receivers are used combined with an already existing terrestial connection, so that guarantee the better quality of the signal deriving from the satellite and the greater reliability of the terrestrial connection. It is possible to change over, automatically according to the priorities entered, up to four audio channels, two of which composite (MPX) and two stereo. The automatic change over is based on the detection of the functionality of selected channel. Operation times for the several detection modes, reset times and operation thresholds may be programmed. For all channels are available two detection modes: a hardware contact (external command) and a level control. For MPX channels there are also the detection modes related at the stereo signal presence and signal/noise ratio. All operative parameters may be downloaded/loaded by PC or changed by display and keyboard installed on equipment fronf panel. It is possible to lock the operative configuration of Discovery by PC; in such situation, data may only be examined, but noy changed. The monitoring circuit of Discovery has been designed with the alwayspresent Fault tollerance concept; it is possible therefore to select, through the setting of internal jumpers, the channel to transmit in case of breakup of fuse or sudden lack of the feeding. The presence of stereo decoder allows decoding MPX in order to feed the audio inputs (Left & Right) of external equipment. 176
