LUZERNISCHE GLASMALEREI CHRISTOPH STOOSS La Luzernische Glasmalerei Christoph Stooss venne fondata a Lucerna nel 1893. Dal 1983, l artista del vetro Christoph Stooss conduce, insieme alla moglie, le attività dell atelier fondato dal bisnonno Edward Renggli - Rauscher avvalendosi anche della collaborazione di esperti maestri vetrai. Stooss, dopo il conseguimento del diploma in pittura su vetro, si specializza a Parigi presso l Académie de Port-Royal e all École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts. Ha poi modo di studiare anche col famoso artista inglese della vetrata Patrick Reyntiens. Perfeziona in seguito la tecnica della pasta di vetro negli Stati Uniti, presso la Pilchuck Glass School di Seattle, ed in Germania. Dal 1994 al 2006 è stato presidente dell Associazione svizzera della vetrata. Nel corso della sua storia, la vetreria si è confrontata con molte tecniche e linguaggi artistici, dal neogotico allo Jugendstil fino all arte contemporanea. Utilissando la classica pittura su vetro, le vetrate al piombo o legate con calcestruzzo, il collage e anche la fusione. L atelier si occupa, inoltre, anche di restauro delle vetrate antiche. Sono numerose anche le collaborazioni dell atelier con artisti internazionali che si rivolgono all atelier per la realizzazione in vetro dei loro progetti. La maggior parte dei lavori dell atelier, tuttavia, nasce da The Luzernische Glasmalerei Christoph Stooss was founded in 1893. Since 1983, the glass artist Christoph Stooss has directed, together with his wife, the business of the atelier founded by his great-grandfather Edward Renggli-Rauscher with the help of master glassworkers. After graduating in glass painting, Stoos specialized at the Académie de Port-Royal and at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He then had the opportunity of studying with the famous English glass artist Patrick Reyntiens. He later perfected his technique of the pâte de verre in the United States at the Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle, and then in Germany. From 1994 to 2006, he was president of the Swiss Stained Glass Window Association. Over the course of its history, the glass studio has worked with various artistic techniques and styles, from the neo-gothic to the Jugendstil to contemporary art, utilizing classical glass painting, stained glass windows with lead glass or mounted with concrete, the collage as well as kiln casting. Furthermore, the atelier is also involved in restoration of historical stained glass windows. The atelier also has extensive collaboration with international artists who turn to it to realize their glass projects. Most of the atelier s works, however, are born of their own projects, such as that

Fra le opere realizzate per le chiese sul suolo svizzero, spiccano quelle per la chiesa parrocchiale di Ebnat-Kappel, la chiesa del monastero di Baldegg, la cappella di S.Anna e l antica chiesa parrocchiale di Amden. Christoph Stoos, inoltre, ha partecipato con le sue opere a mostre collettive e monografiche, tra cui quelle realizzate a Chartres, presso il Museo della Vetrata, a Lucerna nella Cappella dello Spirito Santo, a Rothrist nella galleria Arte e Cultura, a Romont presso il Vitromusée. for the Basilica of the Holy House of Loreto in Italy or for the Cathedral of St. Alban in Washington in the United States.
