CALCULATING POWER REQUIRED (Theory) Basically, we consider the volts per meter, the height of the septum, the allowance of voltage peaks caused by amplitude modulation and the flatness with frequency. Generally allowed flatness is 3 db, this only takes effect after the first resonance point. The example below shows 10 V/m with a Septum height = 0,75 m Flatness = 3 db = 2 Power Required = (E x h) 2 /R x Flatness x Modulation Allowance Where E = required field strength: h = septum height: R = GTEM input impedance (50Ohm) Power Required = (10 x 0,75) 2 / 50 x 2 x 3.24 = 7,29 Watt

CHECKS PERFORMED AT THE FACTORY Performance tests A verification test was performed at 0,65 mt. height cross section. Test was performed at differet frequency. A test plane with a 3 x3 points matrix has been sampled.(not included) A template placed in the middle of the section was delimiting a 40 x 40cm. test area. WARNINGS! READ BEFORE USING HANDLE CAREFULLY The GTem cell is a professional test equipment intended for EMC emissions and immunity test purposes operated by trained personnel. Some care is necessary: - don t take the apex to move the cell, push or pull from the frame trolley, before move the cell, loosen the fixing screws and than tight again. - Open or close the door softly. - Insert always straight the N and SMA connectors, don t tight too much, it is not necessary!. - One N type corner adaptor connector is supplied to protect the apex, please don t remove it. In case of break replace it. RADIO FREQUENCY RADIATION Personnel should not be exposed to the microwave energy which may radiate from this device. All inputs or output RF connection gaskets must be leak proof. Never look inside or leave doors open when this device is energized!. ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD Strong RF levels may cause de-magnetization and interference to others services. Operate always with the door closed and keep far from sensitive devices. SHOCK HAZARD Accidental short circuit or leakage current may occurs: Supply the unit through magneto-thermal differential switches lines. Keep always the GTem cell grounded also with power supply disconnected. During normal tests operation connect energy only with the door closed. ELECTROSTASTIC DISCHARGE To avoid ESD keep always the GTem cell grounded fitted with a permanent earth 16 mmq. wire conductor. DANGER Risk of injury at hands and head or cuts around the metallic surfaces of the chamber may occurs. Leave around the cell a free area from obstacles. MAINTENANCE Verify periodically: - the status of the door gasket, - I/O connectors integrity. - Lubrificate the wheels of the trolley and the door hinges. Clean inside the chamber excess of dust with a vacuum cleaner. Protect metallic surfaces against corrosion, cleaning with a soft cloth wet of Vaseline, Silicon or Paraffine oils. Avoid cleaning with water based products or chlorine solutions!
LEGGERE LE AVVERTENZE PRIMA DELL UTILIZZO MANEGGIARE CON CURA La cella GTEM è una apparecchiatura di prova professionale destinata per test EMC di emissione di immunità gestite da personale qualificato. Alcune attenzioni sono necessarie: Per spostare la camera non afferrarla dall'apice: spingere o tirare dal telaio del carrello, allentando prima le viti di blocco delle ruote per poi stringerle nuovamente. Aprire o chiudere la porta maneggiandola con cura. Inserire sempre retti i connettori N e SMA (non stringere eccessivamente, non è necessario!). E fornito in dotazione un adattatore N ad angolo per proteggere l'apice: si prega di non rimuoverlo. In caso di usura o rottura sostituirlo. RADIAZIONI RADIO FREQUENZA Il personale non deve essere esposto all'energia a microonde che potrebbe irradiarsi da questo dispositivo. Tutti gli ingressi o uscite RF devono essere dotati di guarnizioni schermanti a tenuta. Non guardare mai all interno o lasciare le porte aperte quando la cella GTem 750 è energizzata!. CAMPO ELETTROMAGNETICO Forti livelli di RF possono causare smagnetizzazione e interferire con altri servizi. Operare sempre con la porta chiusa e tenere lontano dispositivi sensibili. PERICOLO DI SCOSSA Durante le prove potrebbero crearsi accidentalmente corti circuiti o dispersioni di corrente: Alimentare l unità attraverso linea con interruttori magneto-termici differenziali. Mantenere sempre la cella GTem collegata a un terminale di terra, anche con alimentazione scollegata!. Durante le normali attività di test alimentare i dispositivi in prova dopo aver chiuso la porta. SCARICHE ELECTROSTATICHE ESD Mantenere sempre la cella GTem con un collegamento permanente a terra mediante conduttore Min. 16mmq. e toccare con le mani frequentemente la struttura metallica. PERICOLO Le superfici metalliche della camera possono causare lesioni alle mani e la testa. Lasciare intorno alla cella un area priva di ostacoli. MANUTENZIONE Verificare periodicamente: Lo stato delle guarnizioni della porta, l Integrità dei connettori I/O. Lubrificare le ruote del carrello e le cerniere delle porte. Pulire l'interno della camera rimuovendo l eccesso di polvere con un aspirapolvere. Proteggere le superfici metalliche contro la corrosione, utilizzare per la pulizia un panno morbido inumidito di olio di vaselina, silicone o paraffina. Evitare di utilizzare prodotti di pulizia a base d'acqua e soluzioni con cloro!
